The NIV is the translation that got me to read the Bible regularly. It’s the translation that connected me to Jesus so it’ll always have a special place in my heart. I have to be honest, I am currently finishing up a Bible in a year plan and I took advantage to read different days/books from every translation I have. So I’ve been exposed to the NIV, ESV, CSB,NKJV, and NLT. Lately I’ve actually been moving more towards the ESV and NKJV. My least favorite translations are the CSB and NLT. I’ve actually become addicted to Bibles, so I have several of each translations and several study Bibles as well. In order to keep my costs down, I ask for Bibles for birthdays, Christmas and even Mothers Day, so I’ve amassed quite a collection of 15+ bibles including a KJV and a couple of coloring bibles. When studying I read in the NIV and compare to the more word for word translations and several commentaries and study Bibles I have.
Awesome! Yes, it can get addicting to get more Bibles and compare them! I don't know what I'm going to do with all of my Bibles! One of the reasons I like CSB is that it is academically accepted and can use it for seminary studies. It's more middle of the road between word for word and thought for thought translations.
This is very helpful. I am actually trying to figure out which Bible to buy. I have a Joyce Myers Amplified Bible. I am considering a New Living Translation.
The NASB New American Standard Bible is in the category of Word for Word . And I have found it to be a very accurate translation. Truth be told my favorite.
I have a world bible school study edition journaling bible and 2 king James version Bible and a Spanish Bible as well can I write in all the them with a BIC Round Stic M pen ❤😊
I have a learning disability and get so lost. Church is currently not an option for me, do you know of any video or audio that you can follow along with verse by verse?
Tyndale Bible Publishers has a series of KJV and NLT Bibles that come with access to an app (Filament app) that has videos to go with what you are reading as well as articles for further study. The NLT version also has an audio Bible in the app as well. I bought an NLT, filament app enabled Bible for each of my kids for Christmas this year because of the audio Bible as 2 of them have dyslexia.
Thanks for this information!
You bet!

Are you looking for a way to follow along in reading the Bible or a way to follow along in more of a Bible study?
@@bibleandthegeek honestly both
@@jodibradley4937 Let me look into some resources for you. Are you comfortable sharing what your learning disability is so I can narrow my search?
