I am insanely grateful for this. I came across the video and only watched snippets. In fact, I am very careful with which Christian content I watch, even if the creators may have good intentions. I have a lot of religious OCD and often these types of videos are not edifying, they cause paranoia. A better idea would have been to make a video on how to Biblically discern mediums of consumption, whether it is a product or television. It should not be do and do not do list. I feel similarly about whether or not Christians should drink Starbucks, I personally do not feel any conviction about it, but I will pray.
The Starbucks logo is a Siren. "A siren is a mythical creature that appears in Greek and Roman mythology, and is often depicted as a half-bird, half-woman. Sirens are said to live on rocky islands and lure sailors to their deaths with their enchanting song. The founders of Starbucks discovered an image of a siren in an old marine book, which inspired the logo." It's not going off of personal convictions, it's looking at does this align with the Bible. That's discernment.

I understand wanting to support Christian businesses when possible. However, if one gets so wrapped up in the "right" products to buy it becomes like living under the Law rather than Salvation. People were so busy making sure they followed every one of the hundreds of laws, that they had no room for God.

I felt that she was conflating a few principles. But again, I can see her logic behind her claims. Her logic is that because these things honor, connect to, or in creation of idolotrous things then don’t use them. However, I’d love to hear your take on using OT scriptures as context for our own life. Since they are descriptive in that they reveal the character of God. And God does not change. It’s possible that God does has plans to prosper and not to destroy us. This is a principle that reigns true because God character is that he does not have plans to destroy us, even us NT people. Now, idk about her application of it. I was hooked on the concept of covenants. In that covenants in the OT seemed to be coming into agreement with something intentionally. And having conviction about something does necessarily mean it’s forming a covenant relationship but that this might be an issue God is revealing to that specific person. My take is that if it’s explicitly outlined in the scripture then we adhere to it, but if it’s something that can’t be specifically defined by scripture then the Holy Spirit will lead those where he may in their convictions. I mean people have been wearing Nike for years and Nike is named after a Greek goddess. I think we’d be hard up to find that most of our things are not created by believers.
I agree to a point, that's the point, most popular name brand things or anything commercially popular is probably made by a witch or warlock, its sad but true, im not going to say you'll go to hell for wearing nike but its important to glorify God in every way, and holding onto name brands is a form of idolatry, most people don't appreciate being rebuked and find it as "doing too much" but its a truth a lot don't wanna hear, this is coming from someone who used to be alternative and I loved all kinds of things I had to give up, so not coming from a place of judgment but experience, God bless you and keep you ❤

Doors can be open using certain products that are dedicated to demon spirits. Not everyone fully understands spiritual matters and it is clear to me that you are trying to learn. I have been in ministry for several years and people can be oppressed and possessed by certain products unaware. The Bible says my people perish for the lack of knowledge. Ignorance is not bliss. Understanding spiritual things and spiritual realms are very much a task you need to seek the Holy Spirit to teach you. Using some items dedicated to spirits other than the true and living God can create and open portals that allow Satan to come in and create havoc in your life especially if you do not have a prayer life and if you don't stay in the word of God. Satan actually would love you to bring accursed items into your home and have no knowledge on how it will affect you or your home especially if you are not a strong believer in the Lord Jesus. The scripture you stated that you felt the young lady used incorrectly I would beg the differ. If this young lady used a product and the Holy Spirit told her to refrain from using it and she disobeyed who knows if the product she would have used could have been cursed by a witch or warlock or some evil agent of Satan. Jeremiah 29:11 talks about the plans God has for our lives. If this young lady used that product and it caused some thing to happen to her unaware, then that product could have been cursed before it arrived in the store. Our choice to buy or not buy a shampoo is not how God judges our sin or how our salvation is achieved. It is not achieved by our merit at all! I would hate for someone (who may not know the Word) to feel like condemnation is judged from an unawareness of the background of a consumer good. But unfortunately, this kind of misinformation (that lacks the mercy and grace of the gospel itself) continues to stigmatize the Christian faith. Thank you for addressing it!

I saw the young ladys video, and it's simply her own conviction. She's not being a legalist or condemning those who buy these products. Its her conviction and everyone will have different convictions or should i say God opens different peoples eyes to different things based on what he wants to reveal to them or what he needs to get to them. These convictions may not be in the bible word for word, but it doesnt have to be in the bible word for word for God to convict you of it. Her video was harmless and it was obviously something God put on her heart for her own life. Not everyone has to agree and thats fine. She's using discernment in her personal situation because her eyes have been opened to such a thing and thats great. Thats using Godly wisdom. Also, if I buy a product someone else idolizes that doesn't mean I idolize it also. I was so excited to find the extra soft toothbrush in my local store..I was having a horrible time with my gums. I dont worship my toothbrush tho...just thankful to the Lord Jesus for putting it there for me to use. It has definitely made a difference to my sensitive gums😂. Discernment family😅. I don’t purchase celebrity brands of anything, so that doesn’t really apply to me. If possible, I do try to find a brand that is Christian owned. If not, Christian owned, at least an unknown brand rather than one that is owned by those who blatantly oppose Christian beliefs. It is not always easy to find different brands that do what you need them to do, especially if you are looking at more natural alternatives. These often tend to be companies that are not necessarily Christian. Many of them are blatantly anti-God.
Just follow the Holy Spirit’s lead, we live in a very dark world and they’re dark forces at work fighting the children of God and you’ll be surprised at the lengths they will go to accomplish their agenda.

This is sooo good. I think the Bible says we should practice the powers of discernment so THAT WE KNOW good from evil. If a brand backs satanic agendas we need to use our discernment and obey that small still voice ❤
I saw the young ladys video, and it's simply her own conviction. She's not being a legalist or condemning those who buy these products. Its her conviction and everyone will have different convictions or should i say God opens different peoples eyes to different things based on what he wants to reveal to them or what he needs to get to them. These convictions may not be in the bible word for word, but it doesnt have to be in the bible word for word for God to convict you of it. Her video was harmless and it was obviously something God put on her heart for her own life. Not everyone has to agree and thats fine. She's using discernment in her personal situation because her eyes have been opened to such a thing and thats great. Thats using Godly wisdom. I hope that no one watches the young ladys video and feels offended by it. There is no reason for offense or to think of her as legalistic

To be honest….. if people are being led to not use certain products, then truth is, we must go down the whole list. That includes, music, clothing brands, restaurants, products, etc…. Like I don’t think YAH will tell someone to get rid of one thing when there is a whole bunch of other things that the creators don’t worship him as well. If people are going to call out one, call out all.

I saw a couple. I wasn't in complete agreement. Did Jesus ever socialize with or obtain products from non-believers? Also, if I buy a product someone else idolizes that doesn't mean I idolize it also. Honestly, I think what should be more concerning about some these people is their messaging not necessarily the products they sell. To me that's almost like saying don't eat at other chicken places besides Chik-Fil-A, since they're closed on Sunday and their leaders CLAIM to be people of faith
Wow...thank you Wendy!! This is just plain silly. I had to go check my toothbrush...made by guru nanda. I was so excited to find the extra soft toothbrush in my local store..I was having a horrible time with my gums. I dont worship my toothbrush tho...just thankful to the Lord Jesus for putting it there for me to use. It has definitely made a difference to my sensitive gums😂. Discernment family😅. I don’t purchase celebrity brands of anything, so that doesn’t really apply to me. If possible, I do try to find a brand that is Christian owned. If not, Christian owned, at least an unknown brand rather than one that is owned by those who blatantly oppose Christian beliefs.
It is not always easy to find different brands that do what you need them to do, especially if you are looking at more natural alternatives. These often tend to be companies that are not necessarily Christian. Many of them are blatantly anti-God.

So yeah, I am a 63 year old female and a believer in the faith since age 12! I have heard soooo many stories from people who claim to be believers of what God does or does not what you to have. Here’s my bottom line…God looks at the heart and your intent for why you are doing what ever, if you are KNOWINGLY participating in any pagan ritual to reach an outcome that should come from FAITH in GOD then yes, you are guilty. Other wise don’t tell me about the evil people behind a product because I’ve come across many evil people in the church, yes even Pastors but people continue to attend that church and sacrifice their hard earned money to the altar of him (not God). Now, if you’re going to tell someone what not to use, please give an alternative since you’ve done the homework! And that’s my two cents. New subbie!❤❤❤
