Great video! I am a 76 year old geezer, and my first Z was a Japanese 2+2 with a 2 litre straight six and loved it. Missed out on the 300Z, and my next was 350Z- track model, 350Z Soft top touring, 370Z Touring, and now the 2024 Z Performance (AUTO - yes, sorry but at 76, please cut me some slack) Too many do not realize the Z is a GT car. I have traveled lots in my Zs, and the worst mistake was the 350 track model which was too stiff for a GT car. I did once have the R35 GT-R, and that is a track-ready car. I am (or was) allowed on several closed circuits so I opened her up and had a big blast, chasing cars twice the price (really!) but since I have the policy of NOT pushing it on public roads.
my dad passed away recently and the first sportscar he bought when he was around my age was a red 240z. once i have sorted out his estate i am going to buy a new z in red in his memory 😌

Got one in black diamond a few months ago, completely agree with the exhaust being the only thing that needs to be upgraded, I also did it within one month of ownership, so far enjoying this beast! Cheers!
The new Z is the best looking Z they have made since the early 90's 300Z. The front and sides of it remind me of the 240Z and the rear tail lights remind me of the 80's 300Z. ❤
Thanks for the video. It's good to hear positive things about the car. Sadly my 2016 red nismo tech was stolen on Memorial Day so I was unexpectedly in the market for a new car. I settled on a black performance model with the red/black interior. Very tough combo to find. I should have it in a week or 2.

I owned two Z's; a 280 and 300 Z but they lacked the power and torque I wanted. I reviewed the new Z at this year's Philadelphia Auto Show and I was very impressed with what I saw. It reminded me of the 240 and 300 Z's. I presently own a 2023 C8 Z51 2LT HTC and 2023 Camaro 2SS 6 Speed Manual. I purchased the Camaro because of it being a manual. However; the 6 Speed Z has my attention. How tall are you?
I agree! So far in my circle it’s bolts ons, wheels, and lowered. Oh that AZ heat don’t play! Stay cool out there! Heat exchanger is probably such a game changer there.
Thanks for watching man! Yeah, I want a chin spoiler that's not too large cause I like the more OEM+ look. A 25mm would look nice but IMO another 5mm isn't really necessary as it would force me to get adjustable LCAs to get the camber to an appropriate spec. Fi, ArmyTrix, and Valvetronic make valved exhaust systems for the Z.
Last month I finally saw one on the road. Then a week later a Lotus Emira. That seemed odd to me given how long this Z has been out. Back in January when shopping for the Z, 4 Nissan dealers within 15 miles of me had none in stock. Well maybe a Nismo. But no standard or Performance models. The dealers website said they had some in transit , but weeks away. I could not wait, so bought something else.
Yeah, seeing this car out in the wild is still like trying to find a needle in the haystack. Our community here in NJ so super small still. I think now these are selling at MSRP but I agree, a year ago these were not worth the markup put on them. That’s what turned a lot of people off (I don’t blame the people). What did you get?😎

Yes haha. I'm 6'3". I just posted a video on how I fit well in the Z. Transmission is great. Very smooth and the clutch feel is very consistent. Not too heavy,not too light. Feels nice!

No you can get a loan and pay $1000 a month, pretty Affordable jokes aside I have a Q60 which is more affordable and than the z better interior materials same engine but AWD , Zs have a tax on them would love to have one if it was cheaper than my Q , I remember when I bought a g37 coupe and sat in a 370z I felt like it was cheaper on the inside cost more for some reason. I’ll buy a Z manual once I can get it for $15k or less in like 10 years but for now my q60 makes me happy and greatful for what I have

@@LegalEagle117 thanks! Purely aesthetically it’s so hard to choose! I’m going to give it to the Supra. It has more “wow” factor with design. It’s a hard not to stare at it. The Z feels more classic and the throwback styling cues keep you locked in.

They're out here sitting at dealers on the East Coast. I'd say the price is what's really keeping this in the "ghost" category. 1st year production was slow because of a paint supply issue. Now this year, the prices don't really make sense (even the NISMO is priced way above it weight class). Many are finding them for MSRP but G87 M2, and Supras (Used ones as well) are far better buys than this.
Would you say that the lowering springs give you the same feeling as the OEM? Im looking into lowering my Z but im just hesitant that it won’t be as comfortable
Hey Omar! I’m running the Swift Springs on this Z. These retain the OEM feel (soft ride). RSR Japan also makes lowering springs that lower the car about the same amount but I can’t comment on ride feel. Best of luck!

Yeah, the heat exchanger is one of the main supporting mods to go with just cause the stock one is pathetic. SonicTuned recently had a post on facebook about faulty oil pressure sensors. I’ve been keeping my eye on mine if I’m WOT having a good time lol. I haven’t seen anybody (probably because there is relatively nobody) with blown turbos yet. What was his setup? Tuner?
@@VNGLRS for all that money the car is costing Nissan should’ve of put a bigger heater exchanger from factory I have a video on my page locating where the oil pump solenoid is. I believe they made two revisions of it. I’m not really sure because when I searched up the part there was three different part numbers. We’re not entirely sure if Nissan z is affected yet because they could’ve made a revision on that part when the Z came out Side note : I noticed a mechanical difference in the valve cover on the driver side on the Nissan Z is updated because of oil consumption issues with the breather pcv system. Yeah, there’s a guy with a Proto Z I Had to make a video about last night because he posted it on a forum, his turbine when he took off his downpipe, he noticed it was soaked with oil tuner was tunedbyyak being that these are the same exact turbos that are on the Q5 just with a diverter valve set up. I’m not very sure how these Garrett’s turbo on the Z are gonna hold up over the years only time will tell anyways z owners don’t really care about turbos they upgrade them in the first year of ownership. The guy was stage one at the time when he blew his turbos. He was saying that he believes it’s either bearing or seal issue or crankcase case issue. The only oil catch can I know that works on these platforms is the Tracy Lewis one that is pressurized to work on direct injection cars. I’m not entirely sure about the other beer can style oil catch can
@@BADMAN-SJ I agree. The reality behind this car is that, they chose to bring it back since it's their staple sports car. Since they're not making their hay-day money like the 80s' and 90s', they scaled back on this car just enough for it to be somewhat competitive. In a perfect world, they would have introduced a new inline 6 in take it back to the S30-S130 days. They really don't have the bandwidth to introduce something all new combustion wise for 2 sports cars (that's IF the R36 GT-R will remain ICE instead of a hybrid). Never heard of Yak before... As for the other bits you mentioned, it's good info! I only know of one guy on upgraded turbos and i believe he's the first "non-shop car" Z in the 700 hp range. Full bolt ons, tires, beadlocks, and on air lift. I'd like to see how long the car will hold this power for.

Get an oil filter wrench with a leather strap to help take the shift knob off without damaging it
