    Brunswick should make an updated version of this system. It would definitely be helpful to bowlers that need a better spare system.

    I so enjoyed this video!! I was born in 1962. Had to giggle a little since I just recently heard the arrows called darts by an elderly gentleman. What a fun video and an amazing find.

    Considering that Range Finder is difficult to find and long out of print, you should make yours into a PDF so people can print it out and assemble their own.

    This absolutely helps those who bowl straight! I have such a huge hook and have recently had to change my entire release to get more spares and this absolutely helped me! I went from a couple spares a game to 85% of spares now. It's embarrassing to bowl a crappy game because you missed 3of 5 spares. Thank you.

    That's a really cool vintage gadget.
    It actually makes me question a few things about my own game by what it was stating about: "Left foot on (blank)."
    I've always put my right foot on the board I want. Maybe should try left.

      @@brunsnick Given a few physical properties of our muscles, that could be why I've never had very good balance at the line. If I'm placing my bodyweight on my right foot to start...🤷‍♂️

    Obviously no substitute for practice but I can definitely see a reissue of this being helpful for new bowlers getting into the sport or even for somebody getting ready to bowl on something like Nationals for the first time.

    I'm laughing my butt off over here (internally, since my fam is asleep) because this is very nearly the literal word-for-word coaching I got when I started in 1990. My Ebonite Turbos (Ebony, Sapphire & Ruby) were the cutting edge of bowling back then, I'll have you know.

    New subscriber here. Thanks for showing this. I'm a duckpin bowler, former professional (DPBA), and can really use this because I learned how to bowl by watching the Pro Bowlers Tour, with Nelson Burton Jr's Tip of the Week, back in the late '70s & early '80s. I would like to "turn the clock back" to my DPBA days by relearning how to be better at making spares. The DPBA minimum (125 average in a sanctioned league) is like the PBA minimum (190 in a sanctioned league). Right now, at the age of 64, I am borderline (averaging 126).

    Wish i had this back when I was in a youth league. I think they should hand these out for leagues as a perk of your dues if you want one. Very handy. Did they make them for left handed bowlers? I guess with the video displays some show where to throw the ball but they don't account for your feet position.

    This is 💯 if you pick up throwing straight. That is the best way to throw at spairs.

    I'd say most of what you showed (I'm less than 7m into the video) most average bowlers have a pretty good idea of the physics involved with picking up these spares. The physical DELIVERY, however, is their real issue.

    Does this tell you what board to stand on? If so, where is your foot? I'm a right handed bowler. Is it the inside of left foot or toe?

    4-10 and 5-10 I shoot from far left to get the proper kick into the 10. But I also throw my normal ball at everything except the 10 pin.

    Nick, I dont understand. The feet moves I understand, but the eye target varies depending on the target pin?

      Yes. You set your feet, target the pin you need to hit and bring your eyes back on an imaginary line until you find your mark at the arrows (darts as they call it then)

      Apparently they never left corner pins back in 62 since it isn’t on the card. I’d use the same as 6-9-10 setup and move your eyes a board or two right.

    If you do hand that out to the PBA bowlers, the PBA may ban that like they did with urethane ban under the 78 hardness rule. I made 5-10 split a lot but made it just once. I made that shot with my Black Widow Pink Urethane when I first got that ball last year.
