I so enjoyed this video!! I was born in 1962. Had to giggle a little since I just recently heard the arrows called darts by an elderly gentleman. What a fun video and an amazing find.
Considering that Range Finder is difficult to find and long out of print, you should make yours into a PDF so people can print it out and assemble their own.
This absolutely helps those who bowl straight! I have such a huge hook and have recently had to change my entire release to get more spares and this absolutely helped me! I went from a couple spares a game to 85% of spares now. It's embarrassing to bowl a crappy game because you missed 3of 5 spares. Thank you.
That's a really cool vintage gadget. It actually makes me question a few things about my own game by what it was stating about: "Left foot on (blank)." I've always put my right foot on the board I want. Maybe should try left.
@@brunsnick Given a few physical properties of our muscles, that could be why I've never had very good balance at the line. If I'm placing my bodyweight on my right foot to start...🤷♂️
Obviously no substitute for practice but I can definitely see a reissue of this being helpful for new bowlers getting into the sport or even for somebody getting ready to bowl on something like Nationals for the first time.
I'm laughing my butt off over here (internally, since my fam is asleep) because this is very nearly the literal word-for-word coaching I got when I started in 1990. My Ebonite Turbos (Ebony, Sapphire & Ruby) were the cutting edge of bowling back then, I'll have you know.
Haha .. I love it Nick !!! ... "if you are a right hander and leaving the [ fill in the blank ] you are having a really bad day" ... HAHAHA! .. yeah, well, I leave all of those!! .. pretty much sums up my day I guess .. haha .. getting a good laugh from that one. Good thing I ordered one of these from EBay! .. Thanks Nick, this is an AWESOME video .. one of your best!
New subscriber here. Thanks for showing this. I'm a duckpin bowler, former professional (DPBA), and can really use this because I learned how to bowl by watching the Pro Bowlers Tour, with Nelson Burton Jr's Tip of the Week, back in the late '70s & early '80s. I would like to "turn the clock back" to my DPBA days by relearning how to be better at making spares. The DPBA minimum (125 average in a sanctioned league) is like the PBA minimum (190 in a sanctioned league). Right now, at the age of 64, I am borderline (averaging 126).
Wish i had this back when I was in a youth league. I think they should hand these out for leagues as a perk of your dues if you want one. Very handy. Did they make them for left handed bowlers? I guess with the video displays some show where to throw the ball but they don't account for your feet position.
I'd say most of what you showed (I'm less than 7m into the video) most average bowlers have a pretty good idea of the physics involved with picking up these spares. The physical DELIVERY, however, is their real issue.
3 likes before the video has even started. Thats how good Brunsnick is. People already know he has something highly valuable to offer before he even starts talking.
I'm creating a bowling app which will launch in a few months. This is a brilliant idea, I will be adding something similar to the app. I will give credit where credit is due though, thanks for the idea!
@@brunsnick there was one but I was too late lol I wish they would reprint. Thank you for all of the tips and help you give us in these videos. Happy Holidays to you and your loved ones!
Yes. You set your feet, target the pin you need to hit and bring your eyes back on an imaginary line until you find your mark at the arrows (darts as they call it then)
Apparently they never left corner pins back in 62 since it isn’t on the card. I’d use the same as 6-9-10 setup and move your eyes a board or two right.
If you do hand that out to the PBA bowlers, the PBA may ban that like they did with urethane ban under the 78 hardness rule. I made 5-10 split a lot but made it just once. I made that shot with my Black Widow Pink Urethane when I first got that ball last year.
Brunswick should make an updated version of this system. It would definitely be helpful to bowlers that need a better spare system.
would be worth to digitalize this, definitely still seems valid... especially as people struggle with their corner pins
Good stuff Nick. I actually learned a thing or two. It made sense on a few of your spares to throw it for less chance of a chop. Thanks
Fun and informative video. Definitely helps you set up a spare system on flat patterns. 👍🏾

My dad has that some where in the house. We use that back in the early 90s to get me started bowling better.

Even if you use this you still have to work on hitting the target. So practice
@@TrevorPrinceMusic Yes, which is why I said "obviously no substitute for practice"
I need to buy that thing! It's better than any new bowling ball out!
Might raise your average more than a new ball!

Incredible video. May have to buy this if available to help with spare shooting
I want to buy one of these Nick!
No more on eBay or Amazon!
Help me out please
Can’t really help you here, sorry. There were a few on eBay when I posted this video last year.
I will keep checking
I have enjoyed your channel!
Thank you
thanks Nick...another great video!!!
Just came to say, the hammer hazmat is the goat. Thanks for the video on it
Nice video, can't argue with old school.

It says to just reverse everything for lefties.
Brunswick is Da Man!!
Nice one! I think a How to make spares video is more rare since most videos out there show what awesome balls are out there to get more strikes.
This is 💯 if you pick up throwing straight. That is the best way to throw at spairs.
I'd say most of what you showed (I'm less than 7m into the video) most average bowlers have a pretty good idea of the physics involved with picking up these spares. The physical DELIVERY, however, is their real issue.

Hey, I was born in 1962 .. 😎
Almost time to be cashing those government SS checks! 😁
I need this since I was born in 1962. Bring it next Thursday, should work at House of Pain. 😂
Telling my age, but I remember that range finder guide.
I guess 10 pins weren't an issue then. Fun video. A gadget that works.
They were too busy leaving the 1-3-9 as a righty! 😁
@@brunsnick I remember leaving a lot of 4-5-7s in the 70s.

Very old school terminology there.

Somebody come out this ideal many many year. With this every one can become Pro in spare. Especially ppl who throw straight style.
Does this tell you what board to stand on? If so, where is your foot? I'm a right handed bowler. Is it the inside of left foot or toe?
its an awesome helpful tool that no-one can buy. Love your videos though, thanks!
Still on eBay. 👍🏻

@whoopinurdonkey oh wow. The guy had 10 of them I thought. Guess a lot of people rushed out to get one.
4-10 and 5-10 I shoot from far left to get the proper kick into the 10. But I also throw my normal ball at everything except the 10 pin.
I love gadgets!
Cool video talk tech bowling bowling Brunsnick
Nick, I dont understand. The feet moves I understand, but the eye target varies depending on the target pin?
Yes. You set your feet, target the pin you need to hit and bring your eyes back on an imaginary line until you find your mark at the arrows (darts as they call it then)
Big like to the reprint ❤
Where would i find this at?
Some might be left on eBay still
Was waiting for the 7-10 split which is common
Agree great video make more spare videos would really help the average house bowler
ありがとうございます!
Thank you 🫶🏻
Mushtare GOAT prebowler!
Oh I know plenty where to hit the to pick up the spare.. it's just the matter of making the ball end up where my head has imagined it =)
I could have used that last night in league with all the spare shots I missed.
At least 11 pins missed per spare missed! 🤯
i wonder if brunswick came out with another range finder, if it'd have amazing hk22 technology for hitting power! 😱😱😱
Totally Hilarious!!
I wish they’d remake this
Is there a way to get a copy of this ? It’s awesome! Please respond and thanks for the video.
There were a bunch on eBay until this video dropped.
Where do I stand to pick up the 2-4-6-8-10? I bet they didn't leave that much in 1962.
Will go out on a limb and say that was a rare one.
@@brunsnick The ball had a lot of entry angle but I think the 1 or 3 was a little off spot.
Interesting, but I wanted to see how they were going to shoot the 10 pin, never got to it though.
Apparently they never left corner pins back in 62 since it isn’t on the card. I’d use the same as 6-9-10 setup and move your eyes a board or two right.

The old saying straighter is greater this proves that.
If you're a right hander and leaving any pins, you're having a bad day. . . . I'm terrible and left all of those spares yesterday lol
Good video
Has anyone created a similar tool, this would be very helpful.
Did they make us for left-handers ?
They did not.
i want one i have the dial a spare one but it doesnt tell me where to aim for a strike or where to aim
We need on e of these modified for string pins 😂
Turn it into a phone app, easy way to sell it.
I wouldnt be surprised if its already out there, but that would be a great practice tool. Would love to see a more modern version of this.
My app Tenpin Toolkit has a tool called “Angles & Targeting” which can be used in this way!
