Not only can herpes simplex viruses 1 and 2 be transmitted between sexual partners, but they can also be transmitted from mother to baby during delivery. Neonatal herpes is a life-threatening condition. This video will review how to prevent HSV lesion outbreaks in pregnancy and the recommendations for delivery if you have an outbreak in labor.
