I feel like I can see into a developer's meeting for Wonder: "Our mission is to make designs as creative as possible. Keep pushing for unique ideas" As well as one creative director who secretly realized that 'fetish' material ultimately contains myriad of uniquely compelling concepts.
I definitely think it'd be better if hidden blocks weren't specific to individual characters, but character types instead. So the Mario Bros, the Princesses, the Toads, and the Yoshis. Nabbit can just be hard mode, no hidden blocks.
@@darkmantlestudiosprobably should since he and Yoshi’s are supposed to be easy mode, but Nabbit more so since he gets no knockback meaning you can’t be pushed into pits like the Yoshis. The Yoshis do have flutter jump and eating to make up for that though

It's like he's stepping out of his area of expertise (Mario Maker to mainline 2D Mario ain't that big of a jump, I know) and just going on a learning experience. It's frustrating, but charming to watch, if ya know what I mean.
Love your enthusiasm with the game. Just now watching the video as I didn't want any spoilers when playing with the family and we just beat the game this weekend except for some of the hidden levels we still have yet to find.
I'm elated! Love the SMB: Wonder content! And having daily double uploads for a while is amazing. The long style content has been and always will be my favorite! I'd also love a "Panga's thoughts and comments" video after you finish the game or maybe even a 100% playthrough or something. All of this to say, I'm loving it and thank you for uploading it :)

Am I the only one who absolutely loves the search party levels? I feel like it's such a good way to make use of how they implemented online play in this game. I really felt like we were a team helping each other out. When I first realised how the other players were using standees to give hints, it just blew my mind!
So, the other players are actually playing the same time, however, if they are shaded a color instead of looking like Mario or Peach or Daisy etc, those are pre-recorded. You can still revive off of them, but they are players who had played that level in the past. But the invisible players you see in the level who you can see the character clearly are live players.
The hidden block search level would probably have been better if they had a hidden block for every character at the start so that you got that hint right away.

Search party is literally impossible without online though (if you don’t look them up of course). There’s just no way to find some of the pieces without going off of someone else. Definitely my least favorite part of the game. Feels like a way to get you to buy switch online.
Panga if you go to the right of the area with the floating jump level there are some more difficult rhythm levels I think you would really enjoy. I just played them today and was so excited to see you try them but you went right past them :(
Fyi, to stand cutouts you can put down, if you hit one of another players in a stage and then are defeated, if you can make it back to it before time runs out it is like reaching a player, it will rez you.
you have to drop your post before you can gain hearts in a level that is what puts your ghost in a level is like a tutorial helper in levels if you lead them to secrets etc.

Wonder is great but I got to say some of the level design... I just don't understand what the designers were thinking. For example the search party levels, there's one where you basically have to find hidden Kaizo blocks, it's like the hot garbage that you'd find in super Mario Maker. Then there are those jumping green things, in that first level where you are introduced to them, they might as well be moving off screen thwomps. There's no environmental indication of where these guys will jump up from and they are constantly jumping from off screen which makes it extremely frustrating to deal with them. They had some great ideas in this game, but they also had some really awful ones and I hope if they make a sequel they take these criticisms into account. This might be a 9 out of 10 game but the parts that are bad are really bad.
Search parties are meant to be played in online, hence the name. They are much more fun there. The green guys (I think they're called hoppycats) jump exactly when you jump, like Skipsqueaks in SMM2. They're quite predictable with that in mind. I think that mechanic could've been communicated better at the start, but I don't feel it's nearly as dire as you say, since I found them very fun to deal with once you learn that mechanic. But I do understand your issue with it regardless.

You can find any hidden block as any character, even character-specific ones

So in case you haven’t noticed, levels you didn’t play have a red pedestal, any they turn blue after you beat them
The ring is red if you haven't beaten it, you can watch the ring turn blue after
