Hi Pam my name is Ron and I live near Reddeer Alberta. I wasn’t sure where to leave my question so I just went to your latest video. I drive a black 2021 Denali. Your videos have made a real difference in how I take care of my paint. I’ll quickly tell you what I did last time incase I made any mistakes. I washed it at the car wash I always chamois between the wash and the rinse then I brought it to my garage and I washed it again with armour all ultra shine it just something my kids bought me. After I dried it I used a clay bar I used Simoniz spray wax detailer as a lubricant I know you’re probably not gonna like that one then I used mothers gold ultimate wax system pure polish the step one. I don’t have a polisher but I use my drill with polishing pads I don’t know what I’m really doing there yet plus I’m very scared to do my black paint with a polisher. I took that off by hand. Next I put on Maguires hybrid ceramic wax the liquid I know you like that stuff also I put it on with my drill. Since then thought I bought turtle wax graphing flex wax and today I bought some new wash mitts and some chemical guys Hydro suds ceramic car wash soap I’m just on my way to the car wash now I usually just take an extra bucket with me with the car wash soap and instead of using their soap I’ll rinse my vehicle good and then use the wash mitt and soap and then rinse it off then I’ll bring it home and I’ll dry it with a microfibre towel. So after all that my question is. Is it alright to use spray 9 on my tires and rims. I know there are probably better options but it’s cheap and it does a nice job. Thanks Pan I’m glad your videos are here for me. My wife’s 2014 caravan looks great too because that’s my test vehicle lol. Thanks again sorry I should mention that I do know that I should use the iron remover and isopropyl alcohol after the polish but I’m on a bit of a budget
Loved this video. I've never seen these products before. Before anyone, to my knowledge, came up with 'guards', I was using a bowl size strainer I picked up at the 99 cents store, over 15 years ago. If you ever do an appearance in Southern California, let all of us know, I have a feeling you'll get a crowd.
Thanks Jim! I was in California in August for the Monterey Car Week and had a blast! I made a video about it here: ua-cam.com/video/BrFEtB_NcDw/v-deo.html
Thanks for watching Andrew! Is this your first purchase of Detail Guardz products? Once you get them, let me know how you enjoy using them! Enjoy your weekend.
@@PanTheOrganizer Yes it is. They will be replacing the guards in the bucket combos I bought off autogeek over the summer (brand: grit guard I believe). Thx, you as well.
i just purchased the hose guide will use soon as weather permits. got my eyes on those dirt locks, time for me to upgrade my generic dirt trap which comes with my wash buckets which unfortunately is kinda small for the buckets ending up flipping out of place while using.
Dirt Lock filters in both buckets, for the Scrub Wall, the most important is the rinse bucket, as that's where you are going to rinse and scrub your mitt before introducing it into the soapy water in the wash bucket.
Hey Pan great vid! I like the the Dirtlock system above anything else, didn't know there where those sidewall etc... I hope they improved on the type of plastic they used because the edition I bought is floaty plastic, I drag my buckets around on trolleys and due to the vibrations the Dirtlock floats to the top and releases al the dirt back in to the water making the whole system useless. I use some aquarium rocks to keep it at the bottom lol
You probably have the first generation Dirt Lock filters, with the rubber foam pads on the feet right? They now solved that issue by offering the new generation with self-locking rubber tabs, that you can also buy for your existing Dirt Lock filters here: www.thedetailguardz.com/collections/detail-guardz/products/dirt-lock-premium-rubber-grip-attachment-4pk
@@PanTheOrganizer Yup, bought them when they first got out, time to didge the rocks and installing and put some rubbers on! Thanks for the info Pan, much appreciated 👊
Great demo ,been using the grit guard for a few years, just added the hose guides to my xmas list and don't use alot of pads so will stick to the old fashioned hand wash for now 😀
Definitely going to buy this but wondering whether its not either the wall or either the pumpscrub; having both seems a bit too much, no? And if to choose, which one is best? And do you need this system for both wash and rince? Cause if you rince in the bucket with the guardz, then they should be clean to go back into the wash bucket, no?
Start with the Dirt Lock bucket filters first. That's the most important. And then, if you were to pick just one add-on, I would go for the scrub and pump system.
So do you put the dirt locks and vertical walls in each of your buckets? IM building a kit, and will run a two bucket method, plus a third for tire cleaning. How would you rig each bucket? Dirt lock filter and pump in each bucket and 360 side walls protection?? this could get expensive quick. How would u suggest I get started so I dont have to buy so much up front? Thanks for your videos, its getting me up to speed on detailing because ive been neglecting my vehicles and that needs to change.
In my two buckets, I add the Dirt Lock filters at the bottom. In the rinse bucket, that's where you would put the vertical walls and the pump, as that's where you scrub your dirty mitt to release the dirt, before dunking it back into your wash bucket.
My wife doesn't like me cleaning the pads in the house (I don't have a sink in my garage), so I really like the pad cleaning system. Well time to break out the CC (again!).
Hey Pan! I was just thinking of you a few minutes ago 🙂 I got maybe a topic of video or a question for you: Now more and more car owners have a plastic protective film installed on the hood or front of the car to protect against the chipping and road damages. Can we use iron remover on these? Machine polish? Liquid wax? Etc. How to work on these parts of the car to avoid to damage them and/or to have a big difference between the covered parts and the non covered in the gloss. Thanks and continue to keep it tight and clean. 😉
You can use light polishes and the majority of protectants on PPF, yes, but avoid using a claybar as that could marr the surface. Perhaps check with the manufacturer of your specific PPF to see if there are any clear instructions of 'do's and don'ts".
Thanks for the update Pan…never knew about the vertical scrubber! Can you produce a video about how late / how cold in the year (I’m in Ontario) you can polish a car? Thanks!
I would like some help please. Im a beginner detailer and I have been asked to clean a second generation VW Scirocco. Its an old car awesome to clean and work on but I have gotten into a problem. The back wing is covered with a cloth or velvety like material. Older VW have that. I assume its glued so steam cleaning it is out of the question cause that could disolve the glue and ruin it. My question is how can I clean these vervelty parts. Its the back wing that is covered with it so its exposed to the elemenets. What product would you recommend from the things out there and what gadget needs to be used? A polstrey brush or a old toothbrush? Also by parts like these if I want to make in waterproof can I use impregnating spray? Wont that harm the glue cause what I have on my clothes stinks very much and has a very strong chemical smell. I dont want that material to get ditached from the wing. Thank You!
Very nice video. Im using grit guards from Meguiars but these are next level compared to mine. I have two questions. Do you use insect remover and which one? I think there's a video about it from 4 years ago, when there were only a few products, and now there are lots of them on them market (do you recommend any of them?). And the 2nd question... how the hell do you clean piano black trims? Do you recommend any specific interior detailer thats good, or are there other tricks? 😅 thanks in advance!
Hi Pan, I was wondering...I bought my first new car yesterday. It was built just 3 weeks ago. When can I ceramic coat this thing? I will be using carpro's lineup uk3.0, gliss, flyby forte, dlux, and their leather coating
You can detail it as soon as you take delivery. The earlier you protect it the better. Watch how I protected my previous new BMW as soon as I had taken delivery (using mostly CarPro products) here: ua-cam.com/video/dsCmJJDP3xo/v-deo.html

Souvent, ce film ombrageux est une mince couche huileuse ou graisseuse, c'est normal. when you have 5 Gallon bucket and a full 360 degree scrub wall and you put gamma seal on top its impossible to remove the dirt lock system attachements ,how you do for clean the bucket after you done the job ? you leave it inside forever or you remove the gamma seal each time ,, is kinda hard to remove the gamma seal so I want to know how you proceed . thanks !!
I think that is a practical problem if you really want the gamma lids. I read that elsewhere while researching this product. That’s the only part I don’t like, but I guess it’s not the end of the world.
Hi Pan. How long after applying carpro gliss can I top it with turtle wax ceramic graphene paste wax?. I'm doing my brand new black vehicle with carpro essence, uk3.0, gliss, and the wax. Hopefully it will look dripping wet
It changes absolutely nothing which color you get. It’s just a question of personal preference. You won’t see the dirt underneath the Dirt Lock regardless of what color you get. The openings are too small.

Lest say you used a bucket you would use to wash the car to clean a buffing pad and let it sit for a couple of days. Would you recommend cleaning it and using it again for detailing or would you not use it for detailing anymore? Don’t want to damage the surface after doing a ceramic coat.
You would absolutely have to clean the bucket with an APC and brush and thoroughly rinse it, before reusing it to wash your car. I just use a separate dedicated bucket to wash pads with my pad washer. See my video: ua-cam.com/video/vfKgy7LOhh4/v-deo.htmlsi=oahr3npkFYryxWgp

im not sure i would want to use a soggy pad while correcting! i understand once cleaned, you spin off the excess water with the polisher, but still pad will be damped..... love the design and simple concept, ease of use..etc..!
It is only slightly damp, and doesn't really affect the polishes. Same applies to any pad washer by the way, including the System 4000 by Lake Country I also tested on my channel. The key here is they get the pads clean. You would still get moisture as we normally prime pads anyways with a pad conditioner or polish. ;) Also, keep in note that for a compound or polishing stage, you should be using multiple fresh pads during the correction anyways. I typically use 4 to 5 pads for compound and the same for polishing. In between passes, you can simply use a pad brush or compressed air to clean the pads between passes. That means that you only have to use the pad washer at the very end of the entire process if you want. To clean your pads thoroughly before their next use. ;)
Great stuff Pan! Where can someone pickup one of those clear buckets at? Also, where can someone get those Bucket Dolly's i see you rolling your buckets around in?
Great video! These products look awesome! My question is do the Dirt Locks fit properly at the bottom of Chemical Guys 4.5 gallon buckets? I’m under the impression their buckets may not have the same bottom diameter as a standard 5 gal. Their red, blue, and, black translucent buckets would look great with matching Dirt Locks!
They fit pretty much any bucket, but I haven't tested the Chemical Guys ones. Perhaps drop an e-mail to the team at Detail Guardz to see what they say.
Hey! The Scrub and Pump only draws the cleaner water from above the Dirt Lock filter to pump into your wash media. Then the dirty was is cycled below and the process repeats itself to always provide you with cleaner water. 🙂
Hey Pan, As always, an informative video. Quick question? Why hasn't anyone ever come up with this for the wheel bucket? If would seem to me that the wheels are usually the dirtiest part of the car, and we have to do 4 of them using the same tools. The likelihood of a contaminant getting picked by one wheel and transferred to another seems rather high? Wouldn't a grit guard for wheel tools help to minimize this?
@@PanTheOrganizer I guess the wall system would work. Maybe its the engineer in me, I'd love to see divider walls to section my wheel bucket into 4 quarters, that way each of my wheel tools can have their own space and it's easier to find the handles for each when doing the job.
My guess would be yes, but you should perhaps reach out to the Detail Guardz and ask them to make sure. I would be curious to know the official answer too.
@@PanTheOrganizer The Dirt Lock lineup is safe for all sponges, applicators, microfibers, wash mitts, you name it... All the edges are soft and rounded, this way it helps prevent any damage to the wash media you are using. :)
Coatings specifically formulated for PPF (like CarPro Skin and Gtechniq Halo) won't last as long as traditional coatings. That's how they are formulated. You can still apply regular coatings on top of PPF.

Those grit guards are legit. Way better than any other 1 out
Yeah the Dirt Lock water filters are super legit!
Omg I swear I typed Pan damn you auto correct
Wow! thank you Pan! This defiantly helps
You are so welcome!
@@PanTheOrganizer I watched that video when it hit. We need to know in advance to have a chance to meet you. Good luck.
2:05 wow, great video ty. just ordered three.
Enjoyed the video nice products. I had the hose guides on my wish list , i just added pad wash complete kit.. Stay Safe!
Awesome! Thank you!
Thanks for the information.

Definitely beats the conventional grit guards in the buckets, great video Pan. 👍🇨🇦
Thanks 👍
i just purchased the hose guide will use soon as weather permits. got my eyes on those dirt locks, time for me to upgrade my generic dirt trap which comes with my wash buckets which unfortunately is kinda small for the buckets ending up flipping out of place while using.
Would you put the whole system in both buckets or just rinse bucket.
Great demo ,been using the grit guard for a few years, just added the hose guides to my xmas list and don't use alot of pads so will stick to the old fashioned hand wash for now 😀
You will love those hose guides. Still have my original set from years back, and they look like new. :)
Well time to break out the CC (again!).
;) Tell your wife all your purchases are Pan Approved. Let me know how that goes! ;)
Hey Pan! I was just thinking of you a few minutes ago 🙂
I got maybe a topic of video or a question for you: Now more and more car owners have a plastic protective film installed on the hood or front of the car to protect against the chipping and road damages.
Can we use iron remover on these? Machine polish? Liquid wax? Etc. How to work on these parts of the car to avoid to damage them and/or to have a big difference between the covered parts and the non covered in the gloss.
Thanks and continue to keep it tight and clean. 😉
Yes , Eagle one plastic & black Wheel cleaner...
PPF has self healing
You can use light polishes and the majority of protectants on PPF, yes, but avoid using a claybar as that could marr the surface. Perhaps check with the manufacturer of your specific PPF to see if there are any clear instructions of 'do's and don'ts".
@@PanTheOrganizer Thanks Pan!
I've been using the chemical guys dirt catcher and it was trash, never did anything. I will definitely be buying this one now.
Thanks for the update Pan…never knew about the vertical scrubber! Can you produce a video about how late / how cold in the year (I’m in Ontario) you can polish a car? Thanks!
I never recommend using chemicals below 10C (50F). Ideally, the best temperature is near 20C (68F).
Thank You!
Man only one question, does the bottom placed dirt lock fit the regular home depot 5 gal bucket?
Using generic dirt trappers at the moment, looking forward to upgrading to these in future 💧
#nextlevel :)
This whole time I've been using the chemical guys grit guards. Guess I gotta throw them away now. Thanks Pan! Go Canada!
Go Canada!! :)
@@PanTheOrganizer I am Mexican, though.
Hey Pan I would love if you made a video about comparing water beading vs water sheeting and which you prefer for your cars? I think that would be great!

What's your favourite tool in their lineup?
when you have 5 Gallon bucket and a full 360 degree scrub wall and you put gamma seal on top its impossible to remove the dirt lock system attachements ,how you do for clean the bucket after you done the job ? you leave it inside forever or you remove the gamma seal each time ,, is kinda hard to remove the gamma seal so I want to know how you proceed . thanks !!
I think that is a practical problem if you really want the gamma lids. I read that elsewhere while researching this product.
That’s the only part I don’t like, but I guess it’s not the end of the world.
Nice
Thanks
Hi Pan. How long after applying carpro gliss can I top it with turtle wax ceramic graphene paste wax?.
I'm doing my brand new black vehicle with carpro essence, uk3.0, gliss, and the wax. Hopefully it will look dripping wet
Wait 2 weeks before washing the car, and then you can start applying other toppers.
What's the best colour? Wouldn't black be a bad decision due to being unable to see the dirt?
It changes absolutely nothing which color you get. It’s just a question of personal preference. You won’t see the dirt underneath the Dirt Lock regardless of what color you get. The openings are too small.
can you make a video on how you clean your towels and things after you're done detailing?

You would still get moisture as we normally prime pads anyways with a pad conditioner or polish. ;)
Also, keep in note that for a compound or polishing stage, you should be using multiple fresh pads during the correction anyways. I typically use 4 to 5 pads for compound and the same for polishing. In between passes, you can simply use a pad brush or compressed air to clean the pads between passes.
That means that you only have to use the pad washer at the very end of the entire process if you want. To clean your pads thoroughly before their next use. ;)
I love the Detail Guardz Hose Guides, but they need to remind me not to back over them in the driveway!
Here is your reminder - Do not back over them in the driveway! :)

Hi Pan, is it necessary to use Grit Guard in the Rinse Bucket? Thank you.
I have grit guards in both, but the most important is the wash bucket.
They do 👌🏼
HI Pan Great Vidz as always just to ask you with the pump is that not drawing up dirty water cheers Mark
Hey! The Scrub and Pump only draws the cleaner water from above the Dirt Lock filter to pump into your wash media. Then the dirty was is cycled below and the process repeats itself to always provide you with cleaner water. 🙂
@@TheDetailGuardz that great cheers mate 👍😀👍
Very cool
Thanks for watching Jefferson!
Nice tools but I prefer the multiple wash pads. Faster and easier and less tools
I agree. I've purchased a number of microfiber wash mitts and just switch them out as I wash the car.
That's fine too! What ever works for you. There are many ways to properly wash a car.
Pan, what’s your preferred earphones to use while your car detailing and why? :)
My Bose Quiet Comfort headphones as they are light, comfortable and have noise cancelling technology.
@@PanTheOrganizer Thanks Pan, figuring out Christmas gift ideas :)
You can certainly put their system in a dedicated bucket for wheels. ;)
@@PanTheOrganizer I guess the wall system would work. Maybe its the engineer in me, I'd love to see divider walls to section my wheel bucket into 4 quarters, that way each of my wheel tools can have their own space and it's easier to find the handles for each when doing the job.
Intrigued by the pump. Assuming it would be OK for the BR & UB sponges, as well?
My guess would be yes, but you should perhaps reach out to the Detail Guardz and ask them to make sure. I would be curious to know the official answer too.
@@PanTheOrganizer The Dirt Lock lineup is safe for all sponges, applicators, microfibers, wash mitts, you name it... All the edges are soft and rounded, this way it helps prevent any damage to the wash media you are using. :)
Super vidéo je vais acheter le kit la pompe pour nettoyer les pads merci
Merci Serge! Bon weekend!
Would I need it for both buckets if I'm using a 2 bucket system?
I have filters in both buckets.

Is there a coating you recommend for ppf? I was thinking about car pro skin but it seems longevity is not as good as regular coatings
Coatings specifically formulated for PPF (like CarPro Skin and Gtechniq Halo) won't last as long as traditional coatings. That's how they are formulated. You can still apply regular coatings on top of PPF.
Hi Pan. Will the scrub-wall and dirt lock fit the 19L and 22L bucket?
They fit my 3.5 gal (13L) and 5 gal (19L) buckets. Beyond that, you would have to ask The Detail Guardz if they're ok.

Awesome video, I didn’t even know these exist! Do those dirt guards work with Canadian tire buckets?
They work on most buckets 3 to 7 gallons

Not to my knowledge.
Man. I know what imma invest in lol
Have you ever used their products? They're legit!
I always thought you had to scrub the glove on the grit guard not pat them lol. I’ve been doing it wrong 😑
It depends which water filter you have. With the Dirt Lock, you scrub a bit (if you don’t have the Scrub Wall attachment) and then pump up and down.
