I'm so glad I discovered this channel! Your snakes are all so chill, and I know that it's not the natural temperament of them. It's a testament to your gentle and patient handling. Your snakes know that you are not a predator. Great husbandry!
12:30 I think the Mojave rattler is the most toxic rattlesnake with the Type A venom. Instant murine death is almost always observed among viper strikes, probably due to their huge fangs penetrating the rodent's spine or vital organs instead of the toxicity. _Bothrops_ is my favorite viper genus.

As always, a calm, informative, and well thought out video. Thank you for using both the common names as well as the scientific nomenclature. I really appreciate you letting budding enthusiasts know how dedicated that you have to be to be able to get a permit to keep venomous snakes, and how adding a snake enclosure to a small space has so many serious drawbacks. I especially appreciate your admonition that you don't keep venomous animals because owning them seems "Cool". There are so many UA-cam Channels of loud, macho, posturing fools handling their dangerous animals in a "look what I can do" attitude like little kids. Even if they have the knowledge, the facilities and the handling techniques, they give the opposite appearance to viewers. They do a disservice to the animals they keep.
I worked in a huge pet store in Houston in the seventies, we had every animal imaginable offered for sale to the general public. I was once asked if we had access to tiger cubs, I said that we did. The client asked how much they cost and I replied that the tiger cub's cost was irrelevant to the cost of housing and feeding the animal. That a cage suitable for a tiger could easily cost 20 times the price of the tiger cub. He then asked "can't I just keep it in my apartment?" I said an adult tiger ways 500lbs. "Oh" was his reply.
We often sold very expensive animals, everything from hyacinth macaws, to black swans, to monkeys, marmosets, skunks, and so much more, to people that REFUSED to by a book to find out how to care for their pet. This was way before there was any other way to find the information except for reading books. It always astonished me. $3000.00 for a bird, $400.00 for a cage and you won't spend $20.00 more for a book to tell you how to feed and train your pet?
For those of you wanting to keep venomous snakes, I was bitten by a water moccasin in 1960, I was 10. Now at 70, the scars are still clearly visible. You have to respect the snakes ability to kill, maim or scar you for life. They are incredibly dangerous. Fascinating and beautiful, but potentially fatal.
I agree.. also I couldn't imagine wearing shorts and t-shirt handling these snakes. Sure, fabric is a minimal protection, but it's something lol...

Wow that last one u showed us was gorgeous can’t wait to see her when she is older I’m from Australia and I’m not keen on snakes I’ve had a few run ins with the red belly blacks and the king browns I don’t like any of them I’ve also lost about 8 horses to them over the last 30 + years they were givin Antivenom but they died vets tried hard to save them it’s my worst fear bein bitten by a snake here we have many deadly ones thanks for sharin it was so very interesting seein all the different ones u have :)
I’m from Alabama in the US, so I can’t relate with dealing with elapid snakes. However, I can give you some advice. Removing any and all debris (pieces of wood, metal, piles of hay) and encouraging native snake predators to live near you. Filling in all holes where your animals roam will eliminate hiding places, since snakes will either escape or hide in the presence of a large animal. If you do see a snake, venomous or not, it is best to photograph it from a distance and either leave it alone or gently shoo it away.

In my experience, with Australian species at least, pretty well all elapids can become pretty chilled snakes to manage with enough gentle handling

This is actually a common myth
Taipans are more venomous then any sea snakes
The story that belchers sea snakes are more venomous states back to a flawed study several decades ago where they measured sea snakes LD50 by injecting venom intramuscularly and compared them to other snakes where venom was injected subcutaneously (under the skin)
More recent information has corrected this 😊

I was always under the impression that the Australian Tiger Snake, but definitely the Sea Snakes were the mist venomous snakes in the world.

Oooohhhh!! She's such a pretty squami!!! Bummer that he's changing from blue, I hope he goes back to blue for you. Chandler had some blue babies but I never see his squamis anymore so they might be gone :( The blue T.insularis is my favorite hot snake aside from gaboons, everyone loves gaboons (go figure), yet the blue squami is MOST ADORABLE! Please give common name and where they can be found in the wild when you show your animals, as well as the scientific (if you want) but it helps to bring awareness and helps people be able to understand the location and the ecosystems they are found in. Oh well, you do tell for some of them, thank you :) If you could do it for each one that would be awesome. PS I like the male better, I mean it's cool that the female has the complete dorsal stripes but I like him better. *OH MY GOODNESS* Ryan!!! I have never appreciated the beauty of a Western Diamondback (the species from my neck of the woods) ...really until now!!!What the heck?! I must have seen an albino before but my eyes say no! He's gorgeous!! I have found that albino/amel snakes are more laid back than the common natural ones, I believe it's because they have poor eyesight so they just aren't as aware of things so they aren't as jumpy. You need a Mojave green.

i love how as a australian we got 3 out of the top 5 most deadliest snakes on the planet... My question to you Ryan with the Venom regardless of Tapian species whats more deadlier venom wise a Green Mamba or anyone of the Taipans
Taipans are way more venomous
In terms of sheer toxicity mambas don’t even compare to taipans
The three species of taipan are currently ranked 1,3 and 4 in terms of toxicity and the coastal tai is still about twice as venomous as the black mamba which is again more venomous then the green mamba
Obviously this doesn’t automatically make them more dangerous though

Say for example here in Aus we know of red bellies that eat brownies for example now the venom they gets injected into the body of prey that is also venomous wont the snake of who is eating the body of another venomous snake die after consuming that venomous snake?

Crocodiles technically do have tongues but not like we might think
Instead of being mobile they have evolved to form the rigid valve you see at the back of a crocodiles throat which prevents water entering the crocs stomach when crocs grab things under water

Kings and corns are much prettier than any taipan. That's not to say I don't love and respect taipans. Ryan, if you could find a place that would make replica gila monster skulls to put into say and adult corn snake enclosure as a hide, I would buy one for each of my corns, heck even for each crested gecko enclosure I have. Please consider doing this as merch! I want one bad! Chandler showed the skull he has and I think he said their teeth are actually part of their jaw, maybe that was something else...but he is struggling with so much, but I bet you or Kyle could find someone to make them! I would much rather a gila monster skull replica than a human one ( everyone has that). I want a legit one though. Maybe you guys can team up with chandler and borrow his skull and make it happen??? He could use his cut of the money!

Back here after a year I can't believe they haven't posted in a year I don't understand why these guys never took off you should have done more venomous I've been screaming at for years I don't understand they have a top-notch facility they have super venomous stuff they just didn't really promote it that well I just don't understand million dollar facility
