21 objects is more than I expected, but less than I hoped. However, the connection limit doesn't seem to increase or decrease if you are using tiny objects, or larger/more complex objects. I'm excited to see how far people will push this in the coming years.
Thanks! Really appreciate this comment. Yeah, I’m trying to push TOTK now to grow a bit and Im already playing it so why not! If I could get a little more traction on the channel, that would just let me dedicate and justify more time to videos as a whole, which includes GBG. These tiny videos are just for practice, I have bigger/longer things that are more my style like game design breakdowns and cool builds.
I wonder if we could somehow interlock parts so that they'd "attach" without actually being attached, allowing us to bypass the limit by essentially having multiple creations existing and working together as a whole. For instance, a ship, carrying a turret, or maybe with a launchable flying machine that'd "dock" to it.
I made a catapult that essentially did just this, by having the catapult built into the frame of the vehicle, but instead of it attaching to the car it was locked between two planks with the third plank in the center being the catapults arm. it was able to drive with one stick and fire the catapult with a second one. The problems I had building it were that parts start unsticking after too many attachments, and another problem that i'd never thought of was that you can't attach an already attached piece say to finish a square. so that makes it very difficult to build intricate, interlocking parts since they become unstable very quickly.
Worth noting: that 21 limit applies to all builds in your immediate vicinity. If you try to build something else, your 21 logs start breaking apart (I think; I've only tried it with autobuild).
Came here after trying to cross large lava area in the shrine looks like 21 rectangular igneous rock platforms should be more than enough to reach the goal.
If you make a bowl shape and then put items into the bowl, you could theoretically make get more parts in. For example, if you get 3 logs setup like this, -- Then you can put a border | That’s elevated around the -- Edges of this you could balance logs inside of the shape without connecting the logs to it.
You could also connect the unconnected log to themselves, so they could become an autobuild part, and you could autobuild the different assemblies when you need.
What I’ve seen some other people say and I noticed too. Once you have a high number of overall connections, things will randomly start to disconnect and suddenly despawn. While I was making this, half of my logs broke off at one point and just vanished 😆 so you’d probably run into that at some point but feasible!
I tried to get around this by building a two stage catapult, where the catapult and the vehicle moving it were separate so both could be activated by their own control sticks. However I ended up running into the same problem where after a certain amount of attached items they just broke off the oldest attachment in favor of the newest.
Yes! I had my whole structure just split in half, and it’s not like it just broke off - it literally dissolved all the materials. I guess the ultrahand only has so much green “superglue” to go around 😆
Oh my God, I did the same damn thing using autobuild. I built the two parts separately the first I saved in my favorites. the second part I spent over 2 hours building and it was perfect. so finally ready to put them together I autobuild the other part and I watched in horror and disbelief as the part I just finished building disintegrated before my eyes. I then took a break from the game at my local Walmart on account of needing a new controller for some odd reason.
@@DaveNodon Well I used an orb/ball that’s set to invisible that goes to the location of which (item) your selecting after that if you click a where your picking it up the log/item will go to the orb and then when you move the orb the log/item will also move I couldn’t figure out how to make it connect sadly
Come on, Dave... next test is: the limit of objects on the ground before despawn is 21... regarding the test case, would that mean 21 instances of 21 attached items? lol

I loved your channel for gbg which is a deeply underappreciated game and hope that TOTK can help grow your channel so we get more good content!

“Ungodly amount”
*that amount is 21
I'm pretty sure mods to remove limit are coming to emulated version.

I'd be cool if you made the ultra hand in game builder garage.
I tried (spoiler) it was hard very hard to make

Sorry for the typo mistakes I’m on the buss
It wont be long till modders fix this

Can you build a set of 21 logs stuck together and then an additional 21 logs stuck together (not attached to the 1st set)?
If you have a build at max sticking, when you stick something apart it will unstick the last one before the new stick
Please why do i see builds with WAY MORE than 21 parts? Is it a glitch or an update?
Not to brag but *ahem* I’m kinda first
