- Judge Merchan told Todd Blanche, an attorney for former President Trump, that he was "losing all credibility with this court" as he tried to defend Trump's social media posts that prosecutors allege violated his gag order. I trust the judge on this. He got through the jury selection quickly and seems to know what he's doing. He has to think about making Trump a martyr, physically keeping him from campaigning when court isn't in session and having the verdict in his court hold up through appeals. It's disgusting to see Trump continue to get away with stuff anybody else would be jailed for, but it's not as simple as throw him in jail.
