400A is about $8.98, and 400H is about $14.98. If you buy 400H set which comes with a tank flapper and 400H is about $17.48
i used both and noticed the 400a got stuck once in awhile and wouldnt fill...maybe that one was defected?...400h im 3/3 no issues

The diaphragms are different sizes; the 400H (blue) is smaller . The 400H is made for newer , smaller flush volumes 1.6 gal./flush or smaller. It actually says this on the box of the 400H.
Thanks. The 400A and 400H both work on 3.5, 1.6, and 1.28 gpf toilets. The obvious difference is the blue knob on the 400H that controls the amount of water going to the bowl via the refill tube. The 400H also has a restrictor for a quieter tank refill, but I found that refills took longer because of the restriction.
If you want a faster tank refill... use the 400A.
If you want a quieter tank refill and/or want to control the amount of bowl water... use the 400H.

I have a flued master, but I can't remove the inlet valve top. Are some sealed & lack the ability to have the inlet valve top diaphragm replaced?

I have not run into a Fluidmaster fill valve where the valve cap could not be removed.
@@HacksbyDad I got a new flow master with adjustable bowl level as well as adjustable flush level. Only $15, the previous one didn't have any adjustment and the water was being wasted going down the tube. Water was expected to go to the bowl, but with this particular design, the water filling the toilet bowl comes from the flapper hole, not the tall plastic pipe (assumed to be toilet bowl fill pipe). Also, the 45 degree bowl water fill holes were cleaned with a pellet gun pipe cleaner. I don't know why UA-cam videos don't recommend this. I've never seen the water swirl around into the bowl until I did this clean up. I also put Lysol toilet bowl cleaner on the pellet gun barrel pipe cleaner before I ran it up into each hole.

Just replaced my 400a which had a bad valve (not seal, because I tried to replace the seal, and it still leaked). The 400H is NOT faster OR quieter. It is MUCH slower and the noise is about the same. I won't make that mistake again.

I can't stand fluidmaster or so called universal kits. ALL JUNK, we as Americans should be ashamed of what we have become.

@@iq6840 Sorry... I've used Fluidmaster fill valve for decades at home and work and haven't experienced problems. 🤷🏻♂
