I love the looks on Rick's and Robbies' faces as Garth plays the saxophone on It Makes No Difference. Then knew how fortunate they were to have him in The Band.
I saw The Band perform in 1975. They were one of my favorite groups! God Bless Garth , Robbie , Richard, Levon and Rick! Thanks for all the great music!
These musicians may leave us behind. Their music will be here generations after we leave for those with a discerning ear to hear, may they all rest in Peace and thank you so much you became the fabric of my life
To me it's those incredible piano runs he did on The Weight on the album version of that song. I haven't heard anyone do it like that since. So perfect and so musical. Gives me goosebumps every time I hear that song. The Band are all from Southern Ontario except for Levon Helm. Simcoe, Stratford, Brantford 6 Nations, and London where I am from. I just think how miraculous fate was that brought those musicians together and how strange that they inspired a new genre of music called Americana. Garth with the rest of The Band took us all on a glorious musical journey. I think of the lyrics near the end of the song The Weight which makes it bitter sweet knowing all of The Band have now passed on. "To catch a canon ball now to take me down the line, my bag is sinking low and I do believe its time. To get back to Miss Fanny, you know she's the only one, who sent me here with her regards for everyone."
That is perhaps one of the finest, most carefully discerned highlights of a musician's work I have ever listened to. I am sure Garth himself would have been pleased with your showcase selection.
Rest in Peace and Love Forever you master of music! The Band has been part of my personal soundtrack since before I was a teenager! Thank you to you Garth and the entire band for a life filled with great music 🎶 🕊💞🎹🎷🎺🎻🪕🪘🪇🪈🥁🎸
I have loved the bands songs for a long time. This 1st and foremost includes the live album before the flood and the bands farewell concert the last waltz I am sure there is a band super jam in heaven tonight James sitarski
CBC. Your garish logo stuck in the lower right hides this man's hands at work. No where else on UA-cam do I see such a slap on the face (hands) as I do here. Your marvelous presentation is marred by your designer's ego. Sad.

Garth Hudson playing accordion on "Atlantic City"! Absolutely masterful!
I listen a lot to ‘Same Thing’ from the 1993 Jericho Album. Headphones on and just hear what’s going on under the main track. 😮

Love it, he was definitely a virtuoso. Could have easily been a classical performer but instead took all that knowledge
and applied it to The Band.

A true gentleman RIP

After all these years I just found out Garth was from Windsor Ontario RIP.
On of the last classically trained rock and rollers. "Up on Cripple Creek" is the first best reason for not renaming the Gulf of Mexico.
The greatest American Rock Band was 80% Canadian!!!!

Robertson snaked his money when he was down, same drill with Levon…
