Unexpected challenges during first days in the Philippines

We arrived in Manila but did not set up mobile phone service at the airport, later we learned it was more difficult than expected to set up service. Furthermore, I was able to transfer via iCloud all my data, but we couldn't seem to find wifi fast enough to transfer my wife's data onto her new device. The first few days in the Philippines are rougher than expected!
