Game has a gunfight meta -> devs buff utility -> game has utility meta -> devs remove utility -> devs complain about people not using gadgets -> rinse and repeat forever
🎯. i done lost track of how many feature they added, to then only remove literally next season like shi is mad annoying. Ive been playing this game for 7-8 years. i’ve put so much time, money, and effort playing this game and recently, beginning of 2020 i called it, and preached to my buddy that this game is going no where good . i saw all of this bs coming. i took one look over at every other competing fps title and saw what “meta” was being brought to the fans. the battle pass, they just couldn’t hold themselves back for the $$$ . the constant attenting to every complaints from people with “status” over this game is what makes these changes. they can’t simply say “no”. christ sake they’re reskinning outfits from past events as we speak😂😂 games a joke, can’t be taken seriously on a gaming level
Ubisoft is the one who should take a look at the definition of insanity - Makes the same open world game every year - gets greedier every year - Balances game the exact same every year. and they expect things to change.
@@wanderingwobb6300it was still overshadowed by their other two large games one of which flopped hard and the other of which is a controversy so large it triggered multiple lawsuits in multiple countries. I don't disagree that they do other things. They just need to be louder about it
@@Spaadezok but seriously they need to buff jager’s gun and I think the best way to do it is to give his acog back but keep the recoil and damage the same or they do the opposite by buffing the damage and lowering the recoil or revert his gadget back to its original state
Helldivers 2 went through the same nerfpocalypse last year. Any time a gun or stratagem became popular, it'd get dumpstered in the very next update. It got so bad at one point that the game's player count dipped below 10k and the devs were basically forced to reverse every balance change they had made. Thankfully, the game is in a much better state now. Most guns and stratagems are now viable, and they added a new faction.
i know at the bare minimum one nerf they did, removing the shrapnel from the eruptor, was because it had a tendency to just instantly kill players with no feedback as to why, and they needed to figure out HOW to do the shrapnel better in the first place, which they seemed to have pulled off.
It was laughably bad, amazing how the Devs didn't understand that nerfing the player in a pve game makes it fundamentally worse, it's like new game Devs have to relearn all the lessons of old instead of knowledge being passed down
14:28 This perfectly describes pre-rework Blackbeard Despite the numerous nerfs, he was still unfair to fight against because his gadget contradicts the way the game works. He was simultaneously underpowered AND unfair.
Old blackbeard wasnt unfair while he had a 80hp shield. you could break the shield before peaking him (because shield hitbox goes way past BB's head), and the biggest problem wasnt it being unfair, was that all counterplay was nerfed. C4- almost no ops have it now. Impacts- Nerfed to shit The GODDAMN GUNS?- FORGET IT. they kept nerfing every single blackbeard answer, so it became unfair. Pengu was a crybaby when it came to blackbeard, and it wasnt unfair with the 80HP shield. Blackbeard shoots 2 bullets in the time bandit shoots 5. If blackbeard whiffs the first shot (which happens even in proplay) he is dying. Btw, did i forgot to mention that nerfing peeking and movement speed also removed blackbeard counterplay? They literally removed everything that made the character fair, and complained it was unfair.
@@Malam_NightYoru bruh BB was never fair are you out of your mind ?? Like what are you even talking about, you are mixing every timeline ? It's just a fundamentally frustrating mechanic that shouldn't exist in a 1shot headshot game. BB when he released was the biggest pain in the ass and had no counterplay. Then they made him weak for years cause they couldn't make him strong without making him frustrating. -> that is the result of a poor design, so they changed the design with the rework
You dont understand, theyre just being lore accurate. Back in the old days the game was about terrorists vs anti terrorists. But the lore continued and now its basically a paintball match, so they had to nerf everything to be less lethal so its consistent. Theyre geniuses i tell you. Geniuses!
Alibi on release: - has laser beam gun - has secondary shotgun - has shield - two alternative loadout for roaming or anchoring playstyle - statistically speaking an amazing ops but gets underpicked because you have other older and good ops people are more comfortable with Alibi 2021: - buffed with 1.5x to make her more competitive with other ops Alibi now: - increased recoil - no 1.5x - no shield for anchor - no impact for roaming They literally made her worse because other ops got worse.
Still has the bailiff, still has a Laser beam smg, still can anchor if you want (but why would you?) She lost the strongest defender secondary gadget, big whoop
@drjamaymay405 I don't play siege or FPS all the time so I feel the increased recoil. And why anchor? Because you can anchor. You have shield and intel gathering that counter pre fire. Or sometimes you just want to play around your decoy. Alibi shield weren't even a problem in utility meta because no one pick her until the 1.5x meta comes in. She doesn't even need the 1.5x because again, she was statistically amazing ops but Ubi being Ubi. Rather than immediately removing her 1.5x, they increased the recoil before removing the scope. Making the gun worse for absolutely no reason at all.
The 1.5x buff and subsequent nerf was hilarious, they gave her 1.5x because of her pick rate, then got rid of it and nerfed her recoil due to her pick rate. They literally don't balance, they just make ops worse.
It seriously feels like Ubishit created a "tactical" FPS when they actually wanted to make a fucking turn based board game where all that apply are the stats and numbers and not how a player will actually react in real time.
YES, and also the magical feeling of creating a blind spot with mute jammers with the longer range, first time bandit tricking a wall. Still to this day will stick to the fact that post chimera Para bellum, where if i recall almost nothing felt broken massively (other than lion ofc), was the peak of my siege experience and it has been downhill since
Im also letting off siege as of today. I found a better and more active hobby in my life (football) and moved on to games that dont suck the life out of me. Im feeling happier than ever and I wont revert my decision.
This is why I started using Kali sniper and supernova shotgun on Hibana and Echo. I've learned the best way to beat the system is to play guns or operators that ubi forgot about. @@vinncentuntiedt5851 Oh no you're right! This whole time I thought I was beating the system by using non-meta stuff, but I've been played by ubi of all things. I guess the only real way to win at this point is to not play at all.
i haven’t played r6 in a while, but when i solo queued to diamond on pc there were plenty of ‘non meta’ ops that were actually insanely broken and some were even buffed. im still annoyed that they removed the select fire. "hey lets make a tactical semi-realistic game and then remove one of the only tactical variables that these weapons have in real life to make gunfights more frustrating"
Sometimes it honestly baffles me how when the grenade "rework" first came out 99% of people came up with a better nerf then "Lol lets remove all of the identity and practical utility of this gadget because we dont know what were doing" Like was it really THAT hard to just decrease nade damage through surfaces???? These devs are laughable, i dont really play siege anymore, but im happy to hear they are atleast TRYING to buff things instead of swinging the hammer on everything. Also peak video you earned a sub
dont know if you know this but they said themselves that it didnt work and why it didnt work in the Deep Freeze Designer Notes in fact they listed all the ways they tried to change them and why they didnt work
Nades still would have been too powerful. The problem with nades being cooked is that they were so effective at destroying utility, they made many other operators useless, since a nade could do their job and that operator has other abilities. There is also the fact that defenders cannot react to cooked nades. If it is through the floor, half the defenders health is suddenly gone. If it is not through the floor, the defender dies immediately.
@@KasettoQuotaso we are just going to take their word just like that? The fact that there wasnt even a test with players of some kind shows that they just don't care and they can throw bs reasons they want

@@NinjaBlue69420 tf3 is never coming, the devs dont even care about titanfall they call it the fucking apex universe now man. yet another incredible game lost to the battle royale brainrot
Ubisoft doesn't realize that most often then not, when I die to an Acog spawn kill or whatnot, I'm not frustrated because the attachement or the gun is overpowered, but rather because I have a worst gun and feel like I have to put more work in to get the same result. By buffing everything you effectively take frustration away by having gunfight revolve around actual player skill and not "who got blessed by the balance gods and was chosen to keep the good stuff"
That's the biggest problems for the defenders. A lot of their guns are just ass so giving any one of them an acog makes them much better than the rest. That's why doc has an insane pick rate. 3 lives and an acog.
Their balancing in general isn't dynamic enough. Most changes are planned months if not years in advance, so if something changes in that time, "well too bad we already scheduled the change." The first round of Solis nerfs was enough, but they already planned the rest, so pushed them through anyway.
@@SpaadezI think her pickrate dropped from 30% to like 4% between Deadly Omen and New Blood. But her winrate was the same. Although I’m not sure for Twin Shells though. I think her pickrate tanked to like 1-2%.

@@sheyarjames4904literally, nook was fine and useful, even in PL people were playing her. But then they nerfed her because she was being picked too much.
@@sheyarjames4904 imo neither cav or nokk should be completely silent reduced footsteps is fine but relying on zero audio and flanking in a fps is a crutch imo i think she should have quieter footsteps and be invisible to cams/gadgets that way the counterplay is to listen out for her entry/have a roamer
To be fair the grenade nerf seems warranted at first because of how frustrating it was to die to a grenade from below (I never had to experience that) but a solution to fix this problem is to make it that: The grenade deals reduced damage to someone behind a dry wall/a floor above Instead they just nerfed the aspects of the grenade that brought good thinking and skill and nerfed the operators for no reason
Exactly, reduced damage through surface made so much sense. It allows for all the grenade tech players have found to remain and removes the frustration of being blown up just for standing in the wrong place.
@KasettoQuota Silver proletariat once again not thinking. If nades could even do 1 dmg through floors, they can still destroy jagers maestros and shield through the floor while bypassing all counters and exposing themselves in a 5v5 game you expect to tell me you need to have anchors, off site flexes and deep roamers below to make sure you cant get naded below. Maps like bordrr and oregon were so oppresive as you could floor nade from below from outside for opening pics on ops on cams. Now we can't cam on def? It's stupid and was literally a low skill tech. 5min in thunt/custom allowed for me to consistently get 1 nade pick per game
@@matttheradartechnician4308yeah but there saying that they could’ve kept cooking grenades and just nerfed dmg through surfaces so u can’t kill I don’t see how that’s would be that broken because u can still do the exact thing your talking about by just playing ash or zof and blowing from below to get utility
Man I remember when Jäger was the most picked and Ubisoft was constantly trying to nerf him out of the top spot. Looks like they eventually got his ass
The crazy thing was Jager's pickrate was high primarily because his utility was so good, they didn't understand this. The only reason they managed to drop him was because they kept nerfing his gun so bad until he was unplayable, and unable to kill anything. Instead of addressing actual gadget issues they just add +50 recoil to any operator with a high pickrate
@@nessu1n Yeah it was stupid. I can understand making it mediocre, since he has a really good gadget, but it never should've been bad. Really none of the ops should have a bad gun, besides the machine pistol secondaries (although even then they're not exactly bad for a secondary).
They did nothing to stop Xim players from playing in console lobbies. In fact, sometimes I'm pretty sure I'm in a pc lobby with how many MnK player's there are...
So are you being fr now or baiting. They literally created mouse and keyboard trap so that mnk is automatically detected on console and they are put into pc lobbies and they added crossplay so console players play against pc players using mnk.
@@fizz_time7003 If you play with crossplay on specifically turned to "console pool" You will still face a TON of MnK. 13:00 This is why their “Fortnite killer” Hyper Scape died so quickly and devastatingly. The minimum in that game (fastest firing gun) did FIVE DAMAGE, which is abysmal when everyone has 200hp and has insane movement. Overpowered everything is better than everything being underpowered.
Crazy to think that they somehow managed to drop the ball of a battle royale with (watered down) titanfall movement but that’s ubisoft balancing for ya
Siege used to get praised for how snappy and smooth the movement was. Guys like beaulo got popular bc they showcased just how snappy you can be, and the player base loved it so much they all wanted to be like beaulo. I still don’t know why ubisoft intentionally made their game slower and clunkier
We as players got too good. The old movement system was abusable if you had enough reps. It's still abusable, but you need to be incredibly good to exploit it consistently. Imo, another 5 years and they tweak it again.
@@drjamaymay405shouldn’t mastering the movement be celebrated? The game has been out for like 10 years. That’s like valve taking away b hopping from cs.
Data ruins game balance because instead of balancing around actual player experience we balance around statistics. Making it so every operator is chosen the same amount is not a good thing. Different people with different play styles will choose different operators for different reasons and there will be more and less popular ones naturally. Same reason why SBMM is a good system but because of easy to grab stats instead of making it so people fight against fair players they now force 50% win rate for “engagement” instead of treating it like a game it gets treated like a product
I stopped playing R6 in year 7, I remember distinctly that what made me quit was two balancing changes in a row. First, they nerfed Ash's weapon because her pick rate was much larger than Zofia and Ace, but then, they nerfed both Zofia and Ace for outperforming Ash a season later. This choice, combined with months of nerfs upon nerfs that didn't actually solve any problem made me just believe that the balancing team is just doesn't understand what their changes mean to the meta, so I just uninstalled the game, never to play it again.
Greate video. It's nice to see that someone at ubisoft decidet to use their head to think for once, but I still miss situations, t-hunt, and my beloved recruit.
Why even remove t hunt in the first place? I only started playing in year 8 and didnt play all the scenarios and I regret it. Its just so stupid to remove a game mode because its too "dark" in an 18+ rated game. Like who cares?
@PatricutPatPat T-hunt was removed cause the AI was being held together by duct tape and a dream. they stated that every season they have to allocate a ton of time in order to make sure it wouldnt break (even then though, it was still breaking). instead, they put their time into better tools to replace T-Hunt for warming up and learning maps
As an outsider to Siege (pretty much only watching your video) I think the best way to describe how Ubisoft views the relationship between the guns and the gadgets is that they view the guns as “supplemental” to the gadgets. But even from just a visual and, y’know, game genre standpoint, the guns are what’s constantly in your hands. It’s your primary way to interact with the world, and especially the enemy players. But they seem to think that the guns should be an afterthought, and that the gadgets should be the main focus of every round
In high level play its gadgets first. A good analogy is that guns are a heating device, while gadgets are all the prep to a dish. Sure the heating food is the most flashy but you dont get a good idea on how good it is without all the prep that goes into it. Basic ingredients are fine when heated up right for the general masses, like you can just entry in and win. But for high level play you need preplaced drones, entry drone and fragger, crowd control as well as flank watch. The guns are what eliminated players, but the gadgets is what gives openings. You spend 2.5 minutes using gadgets and just a mere second or 2 shooting. Kills arent everything and the newest shield rework proves that. Shield are used as a way to claim space and clear rooms and making openings for vertical play.
>could release Siege Classic >could have infinite money >choose to release more dog shid updates, ugly skins and bad map remakes >remove basic things like cooking grenades and firing modes >chase “competitiveness” instead of leaning into the unique gimmick of destruction and chaos >????? >profit
The fact that the bosg is now meta after years of being a meme weapon (even with the acog) says something about the game. That its now a meta weapons with no buffs to show for. Same thing happened with Lmgs
3 speed with an acog on defense is really strong, regardless of the weapon. This is a byproduct of the removal of the 1.5x, weapon balancing made no difference.
I was also a maverick main and had a notepad of 14 different ways to use the blowtorch depending on the situation; maverick tricking, opening a crouch hole with one canister, opening a vault hole with one canister, zig-zag dots across the wall, making a line for someone like glaz to hold an angle early into the round, opening a thermite-sized wall safely while keeping to one side, line at the bottom to get rid of bandits or mute jammers, opening hatches while prone and not risking any peeks, blowtorch a barricade without breaking it to crouch through because it's quieter than melee, hole at the top to nade wall denial, etc. all of that became useless after they made him less versatile and basically irrelevant starting with nerfing frag grenades. then became making every gun recoil in the game worse, then it was making every character in the game slower, then it was making every gun zoom in faster, then it was making crappy UI changes that no one asked for and somehow made it look worse and inconvenient... what other competitive shooter changes the main mechanics of their game every season (such as movement, shooting, etc.)? pengu made a 2 hour video of what was wrong with siege a while ago, but there was definitely a lot more wrong with siege and now even more. it's bad when I say that year 1 was better than year 9/10. a lot of "known" ranked players and streamers in the NA community are also weird. profiting off of 10-man discord servers with gate-kept roles (because ranked was/is unplayable without learning the out-of-game MECHANICS cuz that's what they are and knowing exploits has always been a part of the meta), all the twitter drama and crap while clout-chasing (now it's the tiktok clout-chasing cheaters), weird ass discord servers, etc. and removing their only good limited-time event and not bringing it back (Chimera Outbreak, saving Jager) just to replace it with R6 Extraction which flopped so hard that even a 5 year old could write down a plan that would've made more profit. siege is the definition of an abusive relationship. ubisoft deserves the worst u know it's bad when "gyatt" and "u mom" are flagged as inappropriate or offensive. I've been playing this gooner ass gameand watching the jiggle physics is more fun than playing r6 unless im in a good 5 stack
@@Spaadezand I don’t understand Ubisoft, why a military faction such as rainbow, which is a world renowned organization accepts gay people. It‘s weird seeing sens with russian or arabic OPs. In rl you can’t expect people to behave
This is ultimately why hero shooters struggle after a while, by design you need to keep adding while attempting to balance and it just becomes a mess. Also explains why games like counter strike stay around for so long because in 20 years the biggest change to gameplay has been the new smokes in cs2
I stopped playing R6 when I realised that even when I won I didn’t feel like it was a win, I tried to play like Macie Jay but it looks like the devs don’t want smart plays.
What floors me about Ubisoft is that they refuse to increase the number of bans each team has, as well, even though the roster keeps getting larger. Let alone the fact that if you increased all weapon damage or lowered player health, you'd have more versatile gameplay. Ex: Making Ash just 10 HP lower may make her a riskier pick, especially if many guns (with adjustments) could 2-shot her. Edit: I made this comment partway through the video, but I feel like their concept team and balancing team need to play Warframe, a F2P game that is leagues more fun and prioritizes player customizability and enjoyment, and Ready or Not, a hardcore FPS where split-second decisions mean life or death in a similar way to Siege. With Warframe, a game I've played longer than Siege has been out, I've learned that devs can actually evolve with their playerbase and embrace new strats and ideas (a good example of the devs early on embracing a jump-run bug to make missions faster by just making it part of the movement system). With Ready or Not, you have the "Attackers" (SWAT) and "Defenders" (varied hostile contacts) in large maps with various objectives that you need to eliminate in order to achieve your goal. Seriously, Tom Clancy wrote this as a counter-terrorism unit. Their very INTENTION is to be overpowered over the enemy. Now, without so much as a consideration for what kind of game they have thematically, they are killing their own playerbase by not having an open mind. I played R6S from Year 1 and I've given up on these devs. All those hours learning and devising strats have been shot down and questioned by the devs time and again. Cooking frags is such a common thing in so many FPS and yet it's overpowered?! These devs are too close-minded and focused on their vision to adapt to the changing playerbase. It's their fault the game isn't fun anymore. Edit #2: A great way to balance frag cooking is to make the explosion radius BIGGER because then it's riskier to use the strat. Sure, you can achieve some good with it, but it may hurt or kill you. Y'know, like a fragmentation grenade would.
There are so many interesting changes they could make like this, but they always go for the easy option. They've been trying to standardize things because they think less variables make it easy to balance e.g. standardizing attachments, number of throwables, weapon stats, etc. But this just gives them less dynamic balancing options.
@Spaadez Which is so true. Of course, you don't want things to be too cemented but they just take a sledgehammer to everything to "fix". Which is funny, given that short with Thatcher and Dokkaebi.
I disagree with that frag cooking fix, why would you want to increase their radius? People throw frags from a distance? They could have just made it do little damage when obstructed by another surface to prevent nading from underneath.
In your next video or something you should mention how weird and confusing the new ranked 2.0 system works, I am an all-time Plat and I consistently go against current champs
Gadgets also became so much less important when newer operators often have gadgets that are just old operators' gadgets but better or with even more utility. Like you have charactes like Thatcher or Thermite whose gadgets both both just equipment now most operators can bring in. The old ops are only useful for their different guns.
9:10 a bit more unorthodox is what I used to do all the time, and then they turned the ACS12 into a damn Slug Shotgun. I would pick Maestro or Alibi and then remove ALL of the breakable walls in the area which caused absolute mayhem for the Attackers when they realized they had no cover to enter with. My favorite combo was the OG Hereford Base and the OG ACS12 on the top floor for Defense. It was glorious.
I loved the acs12 as a normal shotgun. It was useful to remove walls AND rain buckshot like nothing else. Now it’s like “why would I use this slow firing gun when I can use this fast firing gun?”
The absolute funniest shit is I called the 1.5 nerf so early in the life cycle, I knew that the zoom wasn’t the issue but the optic itself. The new meta acog is the old 1.5 housing because it’s so fckn clean. Now the loop is the same.
It was the zoom, that was the problem. In siege, most engagements happen at 10-20 meters. A 1.5x zoom is the best optic for 10-20 m engagements. It has the added benefit of being decent at super close, and okay at longer ranges You aren't boned at 3 m, and you have a chance at 35 m. It was always the best option.
@@Spaadez This happens when you hire devs because of their pronouns, not skills. Literally everything ubifeces do from balancing, reworks to matchmaking & ranked screams that they have zero devs capable to do intermediate data analysis and beyond elementary school math. Dividing number of operator picks by number of matches is their ceiling rn, and because of that we see things like this hardly sweated crutch as 6th ghost player solution for matchmaking. It might be also a reason why their "balancing" is moving towards unification of most of the operators: only zofia can withstand - unfair, remove, because its not justified in lore or smth (though doc & finka can); echo is immune to doki calls - unfair, remove, because... (idk why); etc...; Thatcher is essential and is permabanned - give a weaker version of his gadget to everyone. And obviously nobody there plays their game. #buffMonty

Constantly changing the game like this when there's no need to also makes the game impossible to learn. Unless you're willing to dig through every single update and "balance" change, character's gadgets and abilities change like the weather.

Especially on siege I see lots of "pros" crying about insanely stupid shit. The reason CS is not getting roasted like this other than its being the core shooter in the market. ValvE doesn't give a shit lmao. They'll only change a weapon or nerf or buff when community gathers up and mostly agree on that. They have really awful options or situational weapons but they do not FORCE people for using certain weapons like m4 or AK lmao. Minor correction, "meta" doesn't mean "most effective tactic available", or rather it kind of does now but it's a bit of a backronym. "Meta" simply originally means "beyond" or "above" (in Greek). In games, the "metagame" is "the game beyond the game". Ends up meaning more or less the same thing but I just think it's neat.

Most guns and stratagems are now viable, and they added a new faction.
i remember the 9 second orbital launch precision
And the new faction incentivizes the use of assault rifles, which were at a disadvantage against the other factions, so they're actually viable now.
i know at the bare minimum one nerf they did, removing the shrapnel from the eruptor, was because it had a tendency to just instantly kill players with no feedback as to why, and they needed to figure out HOW to do the shrapnel better in the first place, which they seemed to have pulled off.
It was laughably bad, amazing how the Devs didn't understand that nerfing the player in a pve game makes it fundamentally worse, it's like new game Devs have to relearn all the lessons of old instead of knowledge being passed down
@@Snowfox572 because they made you vulnerable to your own shrapnel, plus they used the shrapnel from the orbital strike, so it nuked anything it hit.

This perfectly describes pre-rework Blackbeard
Despite the numerous nerfs, he was still unfair to fight against because his gadget contradicts the way the game works. He was simultaneously underpowered AND unfair.
And now the new Blackbeard is just unfair
Happens in all games tbh.
It's just a fundamentally flawed design. Which is why it had to be reworked
Old blackbeard wasnt unfair while he had a 80hp shield.
you could break the shield before peaking him (because shield hitbox goes way past BB's head), and the biggest problem wasnt it being unfair, was that all counterplay was nerfed.
C4- almost no ops have it now.
Impacts- Nerfed to shit
The GODDAMN GUNS?- FORGET IT.
they kept nerfing every single blackbeard answer, so it became unfair.

Alibi on release:
- has laser beam gun
- has secondary shotgun
- has shield
- two alternative loadout for roaming or anchoring playstyle
- statistically speaking an amazing ops but gets underpicked because you have other older and good ops people are more comfortable with
Alibi 2021:
- buffed with 1.5x to make her more competitive with other ops
Alibi now:
- increased recoil
- no 1.5x
- no shield for anchor
- no impact for roaming
They literally made her worse because other ops got worse.
Still has the bailiff, still has a Laser beam smg, still can anchor if you want (but why would you?)
She lost the strongest defender secondary gadget, big whoop

@@drjamaymay405 She had significantly less recoil at one point. She's inarguably worse, displayed by her pick rate.

I just hope they can continue to actually buff ops, I will never forgive what they did to Solis. Especially the second time, that was overkill.
Their balancing in general isn't dynamic enough. Most changes are planned months if not years in advance, so if something changes in that time, "well too bad we already scheduled the change." To be fair the grenade nerf seems warranted at first because of how frustrating it was to die to a grenade from below (I never had to experience that) but a solution to fix this problem is to make it that:
The grenade deals reduced damage to someone behind a dry wall/a floor above
Instead they just nerfed the aspects of the grenade that brought good thinking and skill and nerfed the operators for no reason
Exactly, reduced damage through surface made so much sense. It allows for all the grenade tech players have found to remain and removes the frustration of being blown up just for standing in the wrong place.

@KasettoQuota Silver proletariat once again not thinking. Data ruins game balance because instead of balancing around actual player experience we balance around statistics. Making it so every operator is chosen the same amount is not a good thing. @@KasettoQuota They could have kept the scenarios in though. As far as I know, that was part of the game's story
why are you defending ubi under every comment

Yeah bro seige went out sad from the highs of highs to this shit is sad man
I was also a maverick main and had a notepad of 14 different ways to use the blowtorch depending on the situation; maverick tricking, opening a crouch hole with one canister, opening a vault hole with one canister, zig-zag dots across the wall, making a line for someone like glaz to hold an angle early into the round, opening a thermite-sized wall safely while keeping to one side, line at the bottom to get rid of bandits or mute jammers, opening hatches while prone and not risking any peeks, blowtorch a barricade without breaking it to crouch through because it's quieter than melee, hole at the top to nade wall denial, etc.
all of that became useless after they made him less versatile and basically irrelevant starting with nerfing frag grenades. then became making every gun recoil in the game worse, then it was making every character in the game slower, then it was making every gun zoom in faster, then it was making crappy UI changes that no one asked for and somehow made it look worse and inconvenient... what other competitive shooter changes the main mechanics of their game every season (such as movement, shooting, etc.)? pengu made a 2 hour video of what was wrong with siege a while ago, but there was definitely a lot more wrong with siege and now even more. it's bad when I say that year 1 was better than year 9/10.
a lot of "known" ranked players and streamers in the NA community are also weird. profiting off of 10-man discord servers with gate-kept roles (because ranked was/is unplayable without learning the out-of-game MECHANICS cuz that's what they are and knowing exploits has always been a part of the meta), all the twitter drama and crap while clout-chasing (now it's the tiktok clout-chasing cheaters), weird ass discord servers, etc.
and removing their only good limited-time event and not bringing it back (Chimera Outbreak, saving Jager) just to replace it with R6 Extraction which flopped so hard that even a 5 year old could write down a plan that would've made more profit. siege is the definition of an abusive relationship. ubisoft deserves the worst

Siege became one of those "Damm I didint play this for a long time ago I wonder what has changed" and then the game is a hollow husk type of game
This is ultimately why hero shooters struggle after a while, by design you need to keep adding while attempting to balance and it just becomes a mess.
Also explains why games like counter strike stay around for so long because in 20 years the biggest change to gameplay has been the new smokes in cs2
Just finished a casualmatch and ALL of this applies: team barely used their gadgets on defence and went for kills....and we won
Ready or Not mentioned!
@@talha7032 they mentioned in the Deep Freeze patch notes that they tried this solution and it didnt work
In your next video or something you should mention how weird and confusing the new ranked 2.0 system works, I am an all-time Plat and I consistently go against current champs
I've thought about this, I think the biggest problem is how poorly they conveyed how it works. And even if you do understand it, its still stupid.
It has the added benefit of being decent at super close, and okay at longer ranges
You aren't boned at 3 m, and you have a chance at 35 m.
It was always the best option.
@ tell me you don’t play siege without telling me directly.
@@sykrotima9528 housing is a personal preference. It's not significant enough to define a meta.
I don't mind the game slowing down a bit, but this whole nerf every single goddamn operator shit has to stop
I can see the thought process when they make changes, but that process usually stops at pick rate
#buffMonty
@And11for666 imagine caring about a kids game so much.
Calm down bro, get off the computer for a while.
It’s like having fun in Siege is a war crime for Ubisoft
That’s usually what they try to avoid
@Spadez Why does it feel like a couple of lines were inspired by Shammy's OW vs Paladins video. "restrictive vision of what this is meant to be doing" and "i don't have a playstyle with thermite, Thermite has a playstyle."
I don't mind it, videos like his and yours are what i live for and have massive respect for both. It's almost like a great easter egg.
It was, Shammy said it perfectly
@@Spaadez You made my day. Clearly, I was NOT going crazy lmao. I have put in over 2.5K hours on both Siege and Paladins. Shammy made great points on Paladins and your first video about Siege balancing has been on top for me.
So thanks for the work you put out. The passion, the effort, all of it. Top notch stuff chief.
Love the line you threw in at the end "the Saviour of Siege, Driver of Forklifts, and Topper of Twinks" truly a man's man.
Imagine a world where ubisoft sees this video and reverts all this shit. A man can dream
There is a fine line between dream and delusion
i stopped playing this game the moment they took away the one hit barricade vault. it was so rewarding to hit
Unintended game mechanic detected, deploy the fun police.
Glad to see someone fell into the Cyberpunk Rabbit hole with that song choice
It's so good
9:20 DUDE, I was the exact same! I joined around Y5S3, and I fell in love with maverick because he could do some crazy stuff with hard walls at a time where impact emps didn't exist. I learned how to do so many maverick tricks, and naturally, I was really dissapointed when they removed his frags. He's fallen off so hard that I've just resorted to doing what every other hard breach player does: Play Ace.
Everything being overpowered normally balances things due the glass cannon effect then it comes down to the player who sees first shoots and hits first.
That is balanced, but is it fun?
Just wanted to say that i genuinely love this channel. It's clear you have a passion for making videos, I never really played siege yet i watched both of your videos, and really enjoyed them. Keep it up man and take my sub.

great video, loved the first one too, literally all of it was immediately thrown out of my brain when i saw titanfall 2 in the outro because i wish to call you a very mean name for using SMGs
LETS GOOOOOI
SPADEZ IS BACK TO TALK SHIT ABOUT MY FAVORITE GAME❤❤❤
The first video is one that I rewatch fairly frequently, it is just a masterpiece of enjoyment, from the editing to the pacing. Imagine my excitement, upon revisiting it, that a SEQUEL was in the sidebar. Thank you for making my day, and WOW, it is actually IMPRESSIVE how downhill things got since the first video. 🤣
I got siege because it looked cool like... several years back... maybe even over 5 years ago? I wanted to do the single player but it wasn't that fun and then I kept getting team killed so I quit. No point playing a game where you're clearly not welcomed.
Also are you still driving a forklift at home depot? I promise trying to get down palettes in the paint aisle isn't that bad :)
I hate the paint aisle, having to make 19 point turns with the reach
oh never mind, I see that at the end
lol 10/10 would defraud home depot again
@@SpaadezIt's ok, I'm a paint associate and I hate it too. Abandon all hope ye who enter here type stuff. I'd enjoy complaining more but I still need the job in case I can't find an internship. Hopefully the payout was good because I am more than sure most of what they do isn't on the up and up.
Love the dedication to make a part 2 on a video describing everything wrong in a game you don't play as much anymore
I have never played Siege seriously enough but it's interesting to see how messed up a game can get
As an IQ main, I don’t have to be worried, they can’t possibly nerf her any further
Watch it, they still can give her twitch F2 treatment.
Ubisoft is literally watching parody videos of AAA companies and following them like an instruction manual 😭
16:15 Ubisoft: By standing on the hatch he got an unfair advantage. Given this unfair gunfight (which should never happen) we have decided to remove hatches from the game. ~ Ubisoft balancing patch
This man gives me the vibe that he rants with his friends about the game for hours, probably late at night around 2am
We must protest. It worked for TF2, it can work here too. It may take a while, but i am willing to spend my time trying to change this game.
that worked because valve isn't a public company. For them changing something is just a matter of convincing some people with the same amount of say as anyone else.
But Ubisoft is public and they have strict hierarchy. Not to mention, changes are planned years in advance and can't be changed because of "the plan".
This gen alpha ADHD flashy flashy bang bang type of editing hurts my eyes so much.
I petition we make you the new CEO of Ubisoft. We’re well on our way on hitting our 7 or 8th iceberg. All you have to do is get the water out and weld all the holes shut
1:12 I deadass thought I was somehow scrolling down by accident. Masterful editing work chief.
LETS got the legend remembered his youtube password. This is a awesome series. You should do series on othner games as well
Yeah, turns out it was Password with a capital P. I have been thinking about doing other games. Don't want to go down with Ubisoft
I don't even play the game anymore, but I'm always ALWAYS craving a video from you. These a always catch my attention and seem to be pretty well written.
3:57 No
I'm sure the editing took a few years off your life span but you made a masterpiece once again
8:06 I dont play seige, but thease videos are a joy to watch because of stuff like ubisoft littraly saying "you're playing wrong".

Bro I was trying to remember that band/song since I used to listen to it years ago, but for the life of me I just could not recall it and gave up. Thank you so much lmao. Good video too!
That's why tf2 is fun, you can combine what ever you want making either absolute jank, a meta or just a subclass loadouts
so is smoking crack
TF2 isn't a comp game, I don't think it applies
the shotgun ads being the fastest is the biggest thing
Imho ubi should’ve stopped with operators on nokk
peak video I appreciate the effort. instant subbed
Bro found a new format
I tried wingdings but it was too hard to follow
@Spaadez I mean a UA-cam format 😭 I can't tell if your being sarcastic
Spadez you keep popping videos like this out and I'll bust.
HEEES BACK
I don't play Siege, or any competitive games, but your editing skills and the passion you bring to your videos is infectious. I watched the last one like five times which, again, I don't play Siege, never have, and never will. Great work!
Like how there is a doc and vigil every round
yet no one will ban Doc and istead go for like a bandit without even playing hardbreachers for the whole game..... Man solo Q is tough
2:12 "I can't hear you from my tax bracket" amazing piece of art
The French will pay for their hubris
I’ve always argued that they should nerf more based on ban rates, and buff based on low pick rates and low win rates. But they will only nerf based on high pick rates which keeps the banned operators banned.
Comment for the algorythm…

Same thing I was about to say lol
Constantly changing the game like this when there's no need to also makes the game impossible to learn. Unless you're willing to dig through every single update and "balance" change, character's gadgets and abilities change like the weather.
In games pros and bootlickers will cry about a lot of things and will want the game to be linear and linear as possible with no fun or too much options for things. Which making insanely fun scenes when someone with R8 shredding another team and using it as a real pocket awp. Ubi is really thinking themselves as the one says the last sentence in everything. I am really hoping them to go backrupt and getting used to not having their own games and company itself lol.
CS has had 20 years to develop. And it's players like the imbalance alot.
@@drjamaymay405 And siege did 9-10 at this point thats not a few years. Plus wym players like the imbalance a lot lmao
@@ozalduin4383 The AWP is strong, but expensive. Seems fair.
Ash is strong, and costs nothing to bring.
Less reasonable.
If all ops and gadgets are available, there is no tradeoff.
Siege by design needs more uniformity.
@@drjamaymay405 I don't get what you are trying to point really but yeah. Idk comparing the two that way is best way to do it.
@@ozalduin4383 my point is that CS can have more unbalanced items because they can balance the price point of said items.
guns in cs aren't that unbalanced, if you factor in price.
Ubisoft: downright insane balancing of a game
