    I read about Dr. Sinclair's book "Why We Age, and Why We Don't Have To," very educative. There's no point increasing lifespan without health span. The goal should be to live longer while staying young and healthy. People who say they don't want to live forever should still support this because you can always change your mind later but not if you're already dead. I have been saying this... longevity is our choice! If we want to sustain our health, we have to do something about it! This will start by knowing what supplies our body needs. Start by eating a balanced diet, quit vices, exercise regularly and take an NMN supplement. It's my 7th month taking the NMN by Vitruvin already. It's cost-effective, and I can tell that what I hear from the feedbacks online aligns as well to my experience.

      "The goal should be to live longer while staying young and healthy." Personally I think you cannot reverse age, all you can do is to invest on your health to live longer and healthy. Excuse me you cannot remain young. Aging is and always will be a natural process at least in this planet. You can slow aging. It is what it is. All thatt you can achieve is a body of 60 with a mind of 30 ... eventually, who knows. Transformation is the word that keeps this planet going alive and rejuvenating

    Impressive sounding; must add: "11:04 ..this test is going to be essentially free in a couple of years"David Sinclair. We should hold him to that. Heck, never mind 100 bucks down to "essentially free" -- if it's 1/3 (or 33 bucks) for the whole battery of tests, I'll take it if it's a complete snapshot. Then do something like take 3 tests on the same day to check that it's consistent and not giving different answers on same body. If it passes that test (and especially if you, David, can make a mouse live twice+ as long, double+ its lifespan;not just the opposite of accelerating its aging, you know?)then yes, I'd take the full battery of tests regularly when I don't make changes, plus would take your lifespan clocks test battery before/during/after when I make lifestyle changes.And would be very grateful to you as would countless others. This field needs more modest, and even slightly understated claims, alongside big results(2x or more mouse lifespan) than the opposite.

Sinclair will talk about molecules (NAD+ and resveratrol) that help keep cells young. Kurzweil will talk about how the singularity and AI are going to allow us to merge with machines. Parrish will talk about gene therapy. We'll be hearing the same speeches ten years from now.

    • @poleag
      @poleag 2 роки тому +38

      @@somekid8311 My conclusions as an amateur, unqualified Googler from whom you shouldn't take any advice:
      1. There are a lot of drugs, compounds, and molecules, including (NAD+ and resveratrol) that work wonders in yeast, worms, fruit flies, and rodents. Unfortunately, these effects don't scale when it comes to larger, more complex animals like dogs and humans. There's no single drug that's going to significantly increase your lifespan. There's a very short list of substances that have a good chance of increasing your healthspan, and at the top of this list would be Metformin and berberine, because they increase insulin sensitivity. Insulin insensitivity is at the root of a lot of bad things, like diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and inflammation.
      2. There is a short list of behaviors that can significantly decrease your lifespan. At the top of this list are: heavy smoking, heavy alcohol and drug use, and overeating. Being morbidly obese will take 10+ years off your life on average.
      3. There's a short list of behaviors that will likely increase your healthspan. At the top are exercise (both cardiovascular and strength training) and calorie restriction (including fasting).
      After many, many hours and years of looking, I've found no evidence that anything else will do much for your healthspan or lifespan, and no indication that any miracles are on the horizon. If you find something, I'd love to hear about it!

    Hi David, I'm taking a product called NMN Max made in the U.S.A. and I made a mistake and took one with just a half glass of water. About 20 minutes later I felt a fizzling in my stomach and started to get a pain. That was about 3 or4 days ago and I think it blew out my appendix. Today I'm going to emergency for a test and a removal. It might be wise to an alert to make sure you have yogurt with the NMN. I've really enjoyed your work and I just bought your Lifespan. I have an Endocrinologist for my type 2 Diabetes and I told him I could show up for my next appointment in a diaper. I'm just turning 71 on the 16th of December. Or scarring in various organs? Or the sun damage in skin? Or the introgression of Virus RNA in to genome making it prone to cancer or improper functioning? Or loss the of brain cells already loss due to age? or topological genomic instabilities? etc etc Resetting the methylation/epigenome won't undo these things. Maybe physiologically you'd feel somewhat younger, but you'd still see like an old person. Have flexibility and creaky knees more like and older person. Look just as sun damaged and wrinkly with ugly teeth like an oldy(excepting cosmetic assistance). It's a start I spose if you just want to live longer, but doesn't seem to reset/reverse a lot of things that make people feel old.

      @Roberto Vidal Garcia you're wrong on so many levels I don't even know where to start.
      Most early ancestral humans died of injuries and infection because there were no antibiotics. There is proof of humans from 100,000 years ago living to be 70 years old. For you to say that we eat more meat now than ancestral humans did is the most ignorant thing I have ever heard. Any humans north of the Canadian line circling the earth ate nothing but meat their entire life. You have been brainwashed by the media and the commercials to believe that meat is bad for you. Hopefully you're a vegetarian or even worse a vegan because that just leaves more meat for me. Although you had quite a few grammatical errors, You seem to be somewhat intelligent. Open your mind and understand that most of what you are told on a daily basis is because the food industry makes a huge profit on these cheap garbage processed foods.

Do a deep dive into the literature and you will see the same. I just personally find it hard to believe that after hundreds of thousands of years human beings have evolved their way into not thriving off of red meat. After listening to thousands of near death and past life accounts where past lives have been verified and doctors have confirmed that the patient witnessed things that happened when they had no heartbeat and no brain activity there is no doubt in my mind that we A) Exist outside of our bodies B) That we have a life review showing us what we are doing wrong and why C) There is a place we go to where deceased family members are and we return to life on earth because we still have things to do here. My conclusion is that life is temporary for a reason, it's school for the soul, we were never designed to stay here permanently. Don't get me wrong, I want to live as long as possible, it's just fascinating to me, the soul/spirit, past lives and NDE, and the possibility that we can stop aging and maybe live forever because what happens to the soul/spirit?
