I would like to add one thing for external confidence. Improve your style for YOURSELF despite not receiving the respect that u anticipated. Groom and exercise for YOURSELF because you want to feel good and look good. Plus, you deserve to be taken care of. I think, in this way, we could also improve our confidence through improving our mental health.

0:19 - Confidence is the belief that you're valuable and worthy combined with a belief in your own abilities and competence.
0:37 - The factors that determine confidence:
    0:42 - 1. Genetics
    0:49 - 2. How you're treated by others
1:05 - 3. The choices you make and actions you take
    1:54 - EXTERNAL CONFIDENCE
    2:02 - 1. Improve your style
3:04 - 2. Get in good physical shape
3:45 - 3. Get your grooming and skin care on point
    5:16 - INTERNAL CONFIDENCE
    5:22 - 1. Getting good at something
5:52 - 2. Become comfortable with the uncomfortable
    6:59 - 3. Stick to your word
    7:38 - 4. Have a growth mindset rather than a fixed mindset
8:59 - 5. You will be okay, no matter what

The choice of people you hang out with, like your friends, is really important in boosting your confidence. I used to have friends who believed in the idea of "constructive criticism." They would find fault in me for every single thing and wouldn't pay any attention to anything I said. They had a thing called the friendship hierarchy system, where I was placed at the bottom. From being a confident kid to having zero level of confidence in my high school days I was miserable. I couldn't even talk to my classmates. I would rehearse the words in my mind before speaking out.
So as soon as I figured out the problem, I made some new friends where the friendship hierarchy was negligible. People who knew the actual meaning of constructive criticism-people who actually believed in pushing you forward. People who actually listened to you When people listen to your words, you slowly build up your confidence, and this has boosted my confidence tremendously in the long run. Now I can talk to anyone, even strangers, without a second thought.

Watching this channel has helped tremendously, I've been hitting the gym and somewhat fixing my style piece by piece, thanks for putting these out Tim, you've had a big impact on my life

    • @beniaminradomir9798
      @beniaminradomir9798 2 роки тому

Same dude, but I have to say for me the biggest factor was what Tim said at the very beginning "You are valuable and worthy" which for me means "If someone is hurting me in ANY way this shit needs to be adressed. No one has the right to hurt me."
Because even if you get fit or get a new style you will still come across people (less then before but still) who will be toxic towards you (sometimes even friends who do it in a joking matter)
The biggest change for me was that I learned that I need to a) cut these people out of my life or b) if I cant I texted/called them and explained them that their behavior was not ok for me. It worked wonders.
What I'm saying is "internal confidence" is the believe that you must stand up for yourself if shit gets toxic even if you risk alienating people. Your mental well being is way more important.
      Good luck!

Another popular way to describe the "Fixed" and "Growth" mindset is your "Locus of Control". When you have an external locus of control, you believe the world around you is in control of your life and you can't control the way things are. Inversely, an Internal locus of control is when you believe you're always in control of your life and can change it at any moment. Psychologists say that having an internal locus of control helps people feel more confident, as they're typically more likely to make big changes in their life when needed as opposed to the other side which tends to stay sedentary.

If I can add to this great list. I’d say identify your mental health issues. If you have depression, anxiety, ADHD, or autism, it can be hard to built confidence using conventional methods. It can be like trying to run a mile while drowning in the river. So understand your unique mental health make up. If you’re healthy great. But if there are problems that need to be addressed, start by addressing them. That might even overlap with your confidence journey. Like exercise and growth mindset.

I have a friend who's good 15 years older than me. He said that if you force yourself to do something 7 times it becomes a habit. You become invested and it's not worth stopping anymore. You can start hitting the gym, you can become a good cook etc. Over time you become aware that you can evolve just by making a decision and having a bit of discipline. It's very rewarding. Confidence is a natural byproduct because it comes with experience and internal peace.

This must be one of your best videos to date.
The vibe was so calm and soothing. In simpler terms; i love it.
confidence is ONLY achieved through sticking to your words and action
remaining true to yourself. A positive space is alpha omega.
Treat yourself how you would like to be treated by anyone.
Respect, compassion, open minded and a good listener.
Growth only happens if you are willing to take risks, no matter how great or small.
    And sometimes; Less is more.
Make more videos like this, Tim. Confidence mirrors everything and everyone. Actions, word & sound.
