bought the same shifter for my sn95, I agree you should swap the stronger springs atleast on the left side of the shifter. after doing that its very snappy. great value shifter
Great to hear! Yes I’ll probably go ahead and try playing with the left and right to see what I like best when I pull the engine/trans in the next couple months
I don’t believe so, the two bolts closest to front of the car are the ones I think that really require the console to be removed. But from what I remember off top of my head the console takes literally 3 more minutes of work to remove once you have the shift handle and shift boot already removed.
The link to the shifter is in the description. It’s like a $40 off brand knockoff but quality seems good, just swap out to the heavier set of springs they give you. I first installed with the lighter springs and it was way too light. The handle I used is a genuine hurst handle and white ball. I think those are linked in my Amazon store as well. If not they should be in a video or two before this one under the SN95 HellStang playlist :)
Here is the arm I use on a lot of my mustang builds. Not cheap though unfortunately. Costs more than the actual shifter lol. www.amazon.com/Hurst-5388550-Shifter-Stick/dp/B00062Z52K/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?crid=GB8NVZYPXORG&keywords=mustang+hurst+shifter+handle&qid=1680957142&sprefix=mustang+hurst+shifter+handle%2Caps%2C132&sr=8-5&ufe=app_do%3Aamzn1.fos.18ed3cb5-28d5-4975-8bc7-93deae8f9840
The shift arm gets wider and thicker as it gets closer to the shifter, so the leather boot can just be pulled down over it and it stays put no problem. I’ve had it on and off several times already and no issues. IMO it looks a lot better with the leather shift boot than the rubber one that comes in the hurst shifter kit too.
Alright I'm a fan! I'm hooked
Thanks bro!

where did you get the shorter springs and which size did you go with?
This shifter came with the extra springs. Got it off amazon. Link should be in the description below :)
Aren't You supposed to adjust the bump stops on the shifter after it is installed?
Yep if needed, you can play with each one where it lands and adjust.
Can this be done without removing the console?

@@PeakPerformanceEngineeringuse a swivel and you don’t have to pull the center console
Thanks I’ll try it next time I swap the shifter, which will hopefully be soon. :)
what kind of shifter and parts did you connect to the short throw shifter? I'd like to do the same set-up in my mustang

@@PeakPerformanceEngineering I meant to ask about the hurst shifter arm you attached to it.

@@PeakPerformanceEngineering Thanks, how did you get the leather from the shift cover to stay put around the shifter arm?

Get a shorter shifter handle. You will be amazed.
For sure, but I dig the old school look of the hurst handle and ball.
