I still drive my '95 red Mustang that I bought new back in '95. It's been repainted, but other than that it is just as it was when I got it with 7 miles on it.
What was it like buying it back then because the car buying process has changed so much but it's also cool that you kept that car for 25 years props to you man and you kept thinking good condition on the other people the world needs more people like you

I never liked the sn95 platform until I bought my 94 gt. I was in a pinch for a cheap daily driver that I could tinker with on the weekends and enjoy driving. I wanted an lx foxbody. But in my area they were beat up badly and needed much work, or they were way over priced. That's when I settled on this 94 gt. And I have to say to this day it is great! Im very glad I found mine.

I want to get a set of the 17 in turbine cobra wheels. It’s got 18in wheels at the moment with stock ride height, and looks like a freakin monster truck! Unfortunately he never mentioned the ultra rare hardtop convertible cobras only made in 1995. Only 499 were made in this one year only model. Came with a hardtop made for that certain car, soft top, dolly for hardtop, packing trays, and a vhs tape on how to install the hardtop. I am lucky enough to have #475 of this rare snake
My '97 SN95 Mustang GT was fantastic, no rattles, no issues and slow performance. It ran 15.0 in the quarter which was half a second slower than my '85 Mustang GT but it was a damn fine daily that sounded good. My '18 Mustang GT 10r80 has gone 11.78 (stock) and has been a reliability nightmare......
The "996" of the Mustangs! (which is not a bad thing at all) That's one of my favorite generations ever, they're so underrated. Fun to drive, reliable, somewhat cheap to maintain and big aftermarket.
Adding a missed point that some may not realize is John Coletti saved the Mustang from extinction before the SN95. Ford planned to cease development and retire the name plate after 93 and continue with the Ford Probe. John stood his ground and was able to convince Ford to move forward with the Mustang which gave him the ability to bring forth the 95R, The Boss, Super Stallion, 00R, Ford GT, F150 Lightning and of course everyone’s favourite the 03/04 Terminator. When John left Ford all these cool things left with him, if you haven’t read his book it is a good read.
The Ford probe was still going to be the Ford mustang. It ended up being the Ford probe because they kept the mustang like it was v8 rwd. Mustang fans wrote 1000s of angry letters to Ford stating their displeasure with them doing away with the mustang or making it 4 cylinder fwd rather (basically same thing lol).
I am a big fan of John but they still made some pretty awesome stuff after he left. After 2020 Ford has fallen apart the new leadership is terrible and basically unrecognizable compared to just 10 years ago even.
I'm planning on having a sn95 coupe with the 4.6 V8 as my first car so I'll be part of that group and I just love that generation too and so under appreciated and cheap which is all going in my favor
Love my 95, hard to believe she turns 25 this year. But my uncle had a beautiful 1998 GT new, sitting in that and a Shelby as a child solidified my love for mustangs for life. His had a factory decal kit that I have never seen again on an SN95. Iirc it had c-stripes, top stripes and the classic Shelby style side stripes... been bugging him for photos of it since I was like 8 at the time.
The jelly bean has grown on me. People sleep on them because the looks, but you're essentially getting a more rigid foxbody coupe with better track width, steering, braking and a more modern interior. I love my 85 GT but my next one will probably be a sn95
I definitely love mine, I am slowly piecing it together, though now people are realizing that these cars have amazing potential, in a few years prices will skyrocket on Cobra and GTS models, even high mileage examples. I thought it was ugly when I bought my first one, then I fell in love driving it, bought a second one, sold it during Lockdown and bought my GTS a month later, all 3 were 95s, the GTS is in the best shape though, it does a small rust hole in the trunk.
I owned a 1996 Mustang GT in laser red (dark red) with black leather interior. It was a great car. Bought it as a dealer demo for a very good deal back in 1997 with maybe 6K on the odometer, and kept it for 23 years until finally getting a 2013 Mustang GT 5.0L. That car was so much fun. It wasn't the fastest nor the best-handling, but it just had that muscle car attitude, and those 4.6L modular V-8s sound great, especially with some Flowmasters on there. I'm in the hunt for a 1997-1998 Cobra in good shape. Love me some SN95s!
@@GeorgiaBoy1961 I also own a 98 GT Mustang, which I got up and going about 6 years ago. I daily drove it (short distance) for about 1 year and when I realized I had 48K original mile car, I parked it. Only paid 5500 for it and it only had 44K on it. I really miss the days of 5K low mile Mustangs.
I love sn95’s! My brother and I both have sn95’s,he’s got a 95 gts model with a trickflow top end kit,and vortech blower making 430whp,and I have a 96 cobra project with suspension work that’ll soon be turboed!
I miss my 98' Laser Red Cobra convertible. I had the Styling bar with the soft tonneau cover over the back seats to turn it into a 2 seater. Lowered on 18" Saleen wheels, chrome Cobra rear bumper inserts, tinted windows. offroad-H pipe with 40 series flowmaster mufflers. I am gonna cry!! lol
PANTYEATR1 yep me to as I couldn’t stand the fox, lol. Then I saw the sn95 and I was hooked. Well years later what have I owned more the fox and one 95 gt😂🤦♂️
@@jerryb9591 i was 16 when the 94 mustang came out and i knew i wanted it for my first car...i didn't get my first 95 mustang until 17 years later! now I'm almost done building my ultimate SN95. it's been a 6 year rotisserie resto-mod build and i can't wait to show it off.
PANTYEATR1 that’s awesome and can’t wait to see how Facebook makes it go viral soon as soon as you post pictures. I’ll be another one soon as they are some beautiful cars. Good luck
I have one of those 98 “Boss” Graphics cars. Besides the graphics, the package included 245/45/17s, engine oil cooler, 3.27 rear end, and a different in lay in the seats. 277k miles later it’s still a great car.
Once you do a few exterior mods these cars are really good looking mustangs. I built one for my son it has a mark8 block with 02 Continental heads ,cobra intake, 373s and a tune. The car surprises a lot of people. And looks good with cobra bumpers and mach 1 hood
I just recently bought a 1995 Mustang 3.8 automatic yes it’s a shame it is 6 cylinder but is near spotless and paid $800 for it will melt the tires and I love it!
Fixing mine up now too. Its annoying as a 20 year old college student who goes to school hours away from where I stored it at my parent's place, but this summer she may ride again with a new power plant.
Coletti was so ahead of his time with that BOSS build and the flex fuel super stallion. Theres a reason the 03'04 cobras are legends, and hes the reason. That BOSS would stomp on the new gt500 in the 1/4 if those times are correct
That boss build was just a one off car just to show what they could do gm built a camaro like this too they both ran 10s all motor they were basically drag cars.
It's about time someone breaks it down why SN95 Mustangs bridge the gap and absolutely revolutionized the Muscle car world. And inspired SVT Cobra R, Bullit, Mach1, SVT Terminator, Shelby GT 500, Shelby GT 350R, 20 Shelby GT 500, Saleen, Roush Steeda, Griggs. 97 V6 was my first and 97 GT and now 97 Cobra.
Dude they are gone. I watched a ton come into the junk yard and be posted on Craigslist for years and then it just slowed to a trickle about a year and a half ago . I stop seeing them on the road too. Get one now if you haven't already before it's to late. This car is about to become a collector's item
94 and 95 Cobras rear bumpers still said "Mustang" on them. 96-98 actually said "Cobra". Also the hood on a 96-98 was much better looking with the larger nostrils on them. The 94-95 Cobras just had the stock Mustang hood.

I had few years ago Laser red 1994 Mustang GT 5.0, SN-95. 5-speed Manual of course. Maybe it was brought from Canada to Europe Finland, because all labels was in English and France and kilometer speed- / odometer. Nice piece of history I see
@@johncharlie3919 yea of course but go find a cobra fof a affordable price not saying it's a bad platform 4.6 needed more development before it could become a badass like the 4v. If the explorer still had 5.0 up until 2000 the mustang should have too. I've seen a stock bottom 5.0 with ported gt40 heads make more than a 4.6 2v all day for less money. Ford takes too long to go forward with the aftermarket vs everyone else. Again 03-04 cobra is a monster but the question is can you afford it at the end of the day and which one gives more bang for the buck. That's why I swapped my new edge when I blew the motor
Well no it should of stop at 93 since 5.0 started as a foxbody and the 94+ should of started with the 5.8L and the 4.6 Single can/double cam should of started in 99
Senior year in high school back in 2010 my dad bought me a 1994 GT Mustang 5.0 convertible with fabric back and gray interior. Black top. Only had 80k miles. Bought it for $3k from the original owner who was a dentist and maintained the car in like new condition. Sold it 2 years later for a 66 mustang 289 coupe which I still own.
I was so disappointed when they went from the 5.0 to a 4.6 Glad after some years that they gave us back the 5.0 Still miss the Foxbody being I had two.
They didn't give us back anything the coyote has absolutely NOTHING in common with windsor 5.0s outside of displacement. It is actually derived from that 4.6 you say you hate without that 4.6 there would be no coyote. The 4.6 motor has just as much/more potential than the old 5.0s did. Matter of fact with forged internals on both it may be capable of more power than the windsor because the windsor has a weak block. You have to have aftermarket block to reliably go past 500 or so rwhp not the case with the mod motors. Their blocks are much stronger ecspecially the teksid in the early 4v cars which are far superior to the windsor. All this talk down on mod motors is coming from people who don't have a clue what they are talking about and they just think 4.6 don't sound as good as 5.0 rolling off the tongue lol. In stock form even the npi 2v was as strong as the old 5.0 in stock form and they have just as much potential if not more so. They sound every bit as good as a pushrod many will say they sound even better. The new 5.0 is a direct descendent of the 4.6 mod motors and has nothing whatsoever to do with the old pushrod 5.0. So they never gave us "back" anything they just continued development of the mod motors and eventually became what the coyote is. The mod motors are great anyone who says otherwise is stuck in the mid to late 90s when the mod motor didn't have the support the old windsor did. Nowadays they can do great things.
Watching the video of Michael Schumacher and Jeremy Clarkson tear around Silverstone in this model was a thing of beauty. Michael seemed to enjoy it , so that's a mark of a decently made Pony Car.
i thought he was going to mention the GTS an 248a code but didnt do it .. I have a 96 gt 248a in pacific green its one of my favorite cars ive owned as ive had hondas when i was in my teens an 4x4 trucks an currently own a 81 el camino in almost mint condition, 2001 acura integra that ive been slowly working on but the SN95 is where its at for me
Hey LMR, I know you couldn't cover everything but Roush had their hands on SN95 with 3 different trims! I only mentioned them because I saw Saleen in there.
Quick question; I have a 97 Sn95 myself, but when I got it, I was suprised to see that the side scoops were plugged compared to the 94-96 models (which were open). Any idea why Ford plugged them? Then trying to figure that out since I got it.
My step sister has one of these it's a 94 GT. it's white with tan interior it's an automatic, she's had it ever since she was 16. sadly it's been off the road for quite a few years.
You know what I'm tired of this whole manual elitism in the car world you know not everybody can drive a manual or doesn't want to or you know they can have certain physical limitations preventing them!!!
Im a proud owner of a 95GT Mustang with original paint, after 41 thousands miles ,331 stroker was dropped, H Pipe ,all systems upgraded ,clutch kit, this car has never been through a carwash, only had hand wash, 3,000 miles so far,we start her up let her run.
As a mustang fan since I was 16, I used to hate these compared to the late 90s models and earlier foxbodies. Lately though, it's seriously growing on me. My only problem with them now is their curb weight.
I own a 95 5.0 Gt Convertible with an automatic transmission. Super low miles ( 54k ) and Rust free . Needs the front leather seats to be redone . I may be selling it though . I've got too many cars ! lol

I owned both a 1993 Cobra as well as a 1994 which I absolutely loved. Great cars 🚗 😊
My first mustang was a SN95 black convertible GT. Lots of good old memories in that pony 😉
That was my first sn95 also, with black leather. I sold it to a friend who wrecked it after a few weeks. I ended up buying a 94 cobra and love it.
lol “😉”
I'm planning on having a sn95 coupe with the 4.6 V8 as my first car so I'll be part of that group and I just love that generation too and so under appreciated and cheap which is all going in my favor
I had a 94 GT and a 96 Cobra and boy do i miss that cobra sometimes.
Excellent break down of this model. Literally got all the info I needed in one place. Thanks.
Great to hear! 💪
I just bought a 98 bright Atlantic blue cobra the other day an I love it!
Miss my 94 and 95 gt. Loved that 5.0 easy to work on and always fun.
Love the smooth but aggressive lines on these cars
I definitely love mine, I am slowly piecing it together, though now people are realizing that these cars have amazing potential, in a few years prices will skyrocket on Cobra and GTS models, even high mileage examples. I thought it was ugly when I bought my first one, then I fell in love driving it, bought a second one, sold it during Lockdown and bought my GTS a month later, all 3 were 95s, the GTS is in the best shape though, it does a small rust hole in the trunk.
My wife loves my 98GT SN95 so much, she had it put in her name so I don't sell it. Other than the original 60's Mustangs, it is her favorite look.
I am gonna cry!! lol
the SN95....the car i saw on a magazine cover in HS that got me into mustangs and cars in general💪😍
Good luck
Shortly after, he married his boyfriend, the end.
I always liked them when I was a kid in the 90s. Still would love to drive one for a bit.
Just finished an engine rebuild on my 96 GT. The full PI swap really woke it up!
I did the same swap with some bolt ons about a year ago
I miss my 94 GT conv. yellow with elk top, great car! should of kept! Don't forget hard top option that was removable on convertible.
I've owner my 94 for 26yrs. I was looking for a Blk Fox Lx at the time. Found this and haven't looked back!
I just recently bought a 1995 Mustang 3.8 automatic yes it’s a shame it is 6 cylinder but is near spotless and paid $800 for it will melt the tires and I love it!
Its crazy how the new s550 looks alot like this gen and the s-197 had its own retro looked while the foxbodys where completely diffrent
The SN95's are rare because people are parting them out instead of restoring them. In central Texas I see a few around. I still have mine..
Fixing mine up now too. Its annoying as a 20 year old college student who goes to school hours away from where I stored it at my parent's place, but this summer she may ride again with a new power plant.
I have a 1994 gt for sale
Coletti was so ahead of his time with that BOSS build and the flex fuel super stallion. Theres a reason the 03'04 cobras are legends, and hes the reason. That BOSS would stomp on the new gt500 in the 1/4 if those times are correct
That boss build was just a one off car just to show what they could do gm built a camaro like this too they both ran 10s all motor they were basically drag cars.
@midnight347 yet where was the camaro for 10 years...don't worry I'll wait.
Thank you for the feedback! Please let us know if you need anything and we will be happy to help.
I remember seeing SN95's every day, now I have not seen one in about 6 months, wtf?
Damn true i haven't seen one, is like they all disappeared all of a sudden
I see one everyday 😁
Dude they are gone. I watched a ton come into the junk yard and be posted on Craigslist for years and then it just slowed to a trickle about a year and a half ago . I stop seeing them on the road too. Get one now if you haven't already before it's to late. This car is about to become a collector's item
My channel has a video showing sn95 channels. The video is called the great 8
I got a sn95 that i bought in highschool super clean white paint and is amazing to drive issa v6 but i still love that bih
94 and 95 Cobras rear bumpers still said "Mustang" on them. 96-98 actually said "Cobra". Also the hood on a 96-98 was much better looking with the larger nostrils on them. The 94-95 Cobras just had the stock Mustang hood.
People have tried telling me that my 94 Cobra is fake because of this.
The hump hood was done to get clearance for the intake cover.
The T5 transmission continued past 1995, it was in the V6 3.8L cars up to at least 1998. :) I had one.
Jed Knouse yes V6 cars if Manual were backed by a T5 until 2004

I had few years ago Laser red 1994 Mustang GT 5.0, SN-95. 5-speed Manual of course. Maybe it was brought from Canada to Europe Finland, because all labels was in English and France and kilometer speed- / odometer. Nice piece of history I see
The best modern one ever made!!! We can swap pushrods and mod motors, while passing smog and emissions. SN95 forever,50gang 4life.
Dude these things sounds so good with no cats
What the cats even do anyway they just help with emissions
My favorite mustang of all time
I love my 1998 SN-95
Me too!
The 94 and 95 are the best. The 5.0 is what should have stayed in the those cars
150% agreed lol
Ford wouldn’t have the Coyote without development of the 4.6 4V. Ford would still be stuck in the past like Chevys LS engine is.
Texas Performance Trucks 4.6 dohc mod 4v ftw
Well no it should of stop at 93 since 5.0 started as a foxbody and the 94+ should of started with the 5.8L and the 4.6 Single can/double cam should of started in 99
Great videos. Info is spot on as always. Keep it up LMR!
5.0 power plant was trash bro 4.6 was trash as well from 96-98 but had a huge bump in power 99-04
@@manuelito874 Absolutely nothing wrong with the original 5.0 take your hateful comments elsewhere
Its about Time the sn95 has some love but the sn95 chassis was way firmer than fox its even written in old Ford brochure
Thank you LMR for this video so I understand more my SN95 which I love very much and has a special meaning to me 👍✌😎🏁
Watching the video of Michael Schumacher and Jeremy Clarkson tear around Silverstone in this model was a thing of beauty. Michael seemed to enjoy it , so that's a mark of a decently made Pony Car.
