I guess from a metatextual POV, Akira Takarada welcoming Ford to Japan can be seen as an actor who played many audience surrogate characters in Godzilla movies passing the torch to another actor playing an audience surrogate character in a Godzilla movie.
Truth b told I didn’t know there was supposed to b a scene with this gentleman in the movie much less that it was cut from the 2014 film I’m not really that bummed out about it but all n all cool
Actually, there is one connection to the deleted Godzilla/Akira Takarada scene and this new trailer for Nosferatu. Aaron Taylor-Johnson is featured in both!
It's great to finally see Akira Takarada's deleted scene. This scene shouldn't have been deleted. I'm really looking forward to the new Nosferatu movie.
After seeing The VVitch, The Lighthouse and The Northman, & as someone who has also grew up watching with the Original Silent film with Max Schrek, and the 1979 version with Klaus Kinski, and has also seen Shadow of a Vampire with Willem Dafoe, i am more than anxious to see this movie, & I have a feeling Robert Eggers will deliver with his take on Nosferatu.
I wouldn't say Last Voyage of the Demeter lacked tension. While I agree its basically Alien except on a boat with Dracula, I don't mean that in a bad way. The way the film played out had me at the edge of my seat, even when knowing how it was going to end (I haven't read the original Dracula book, but I've heard enough about that specific chapter the film is based on), and a few scenes actually freaked me out for a while. That's just my opinion, though. Onto Nosferatu, I really enjoyed the original and am curious about this upcoming re-telling/remake. By the teaser alone, it looks grim with a nice, unnerving atmosphere. Add a good horror director and Pennywise playing Count Orlok, and the film has great potential.
Here is the trailer for "Nosferatu" - ua-cam.com/video/b59rxDB_JRg/v-deo.html Damn! This looks promising. I was not the biggest fan of Eggers' "The Lighthouse", but this one looks like a definite MUST SEE at the theater!
Sublime, superb, and exceedingly appreciated news updates as always Omni Viewer!!!!! Thank you for keeping us abreast and aware of current happenings in the world of entertainment!!!!!!!
I disagree that Last Voyage of the Demeter didn't have tension by virtue of its premise. I'd have to get into spoilers to really talk about it, which I don't want to do because I'm one of the like six people that went to watch it in theaters and want people to watch for themselves, but.... The film does include surprises in how Dracula functions (powerset and appearance that would drastically change the original story as it plays out after this) as well as if anyone does make it off the ship. Stuff being a foregone conclusion doesn't hinder suspense; it helps it (since what makes something suspenseful is thinking you know how something is going to go but not being sure and wanting it not to be true). It's unfortunate that Demeter got out of development hell right before this Nosferatu film made its debut, but Demeter was a unique take more in line with the Hammer films or ironically enough the original Nosferatu's Schooner scenes than the Universal stuff (and in any case I fail to see how the premise amounting to "Alien but on a boat" is a bad thing since it's precisely the elevator pitch of that that would be intriguing to horror movie fans) All that said, I am looking forward to this new Nosferatu and think it has the potential to be even better than Renfield and Demeter of last year (though I would argue favorably toward the quality of both of those films as character driven horror comedy or well written atmospheric horror respectively)
Just really weird it took this long for it to come out as the scene was apparently was in test audience showing. And the scene itself doesn’t really a lot of work, so it likely wouldn’t need much work. So the fact it was never included as an extra is just plain bizarre. Nosferatu looks dope.
Despite knowing the fate of all the people aboard the Demeter from the book (except the black guy) some of us were always kinda curious as to what all Dracula did when he killed them
Is Count Orlock in the public domain? Is he part of a shared universe like the Wold-Newton or Tommy Westfall universe? I would like to see one or two of the following crossovers: Count Orlock vs. the Occult Mafia or Count Orlock vs. The Crusaders against evil ( The Shadow, Omni Viewer, Snazzy Chapeau, and Sir Adam Lexington). Ny the way how about an update on copyright law, so I know what I can legally write about? P.s. How about more Sir Adam Lexington steampunk adventures,,?
@@jasonpratt5126 OK thanks... Even though I thought it unlikely that Nosferatu would be a female in this movie, at this point, I can't put anything past the current people in charge.
OMFG! Just caught that clip of a severely overhyped 2014 movie, about a painfully boring 2014 military family, while eating a bowl of Frosted flakes, & experienced a near fatal milk drowning, when the question of his visit to Japan was met with the word "family" ! Lmao, cant make this shit up folks.
(1:38) I agree with you Omni, it doesn't really add anything to the movie. It's just a nice little nod to the fans of the franchise. But still though it's cool that we finally get to see it and for awhile I thought this scene was iver lost or deleted and thats why we never gotten it on any of the previous DVD or Blu Rey releases of 2014. 🤔🛬🛂🤷♂ (3:28) I didn't look at the comment section for the trailer of "Nosferatu" (2024). Glad to see Robert Eggers still trying to keep gothic horror alive in a age of modern day slashers.
Justice for Akina Takarada 🙏🏿😁♥️♥️🔥🔥
Ultimately, yes.

You forgot Nosferatu's greatest performance as a grumpy old man in "What we do in the Shadows (2014)"

Saw the deleted scene, it was short but very sweet

Hey Omni viewer!! Since Nosferatu was made in Germany, I’m curious on what are your thoughts on German Cinema?
Oh yeah, the Monsterverse multipack with AI Art on it!

There are worse vampire movies out there though. Choose your poison.

Why is there a woman's voice saying "Come to me" in the trailer? Is Nosferatu going to end being trans or something?
In the original film, Mina sacrifices herself as bait to kill Dracula, so that could be the reference.
