Pretty amazing, bought a 2 year old second hand DFGT about 8 months ago and it still works like a charm. It's still 100% accurate and the FFB still works perfect. And all that for 50 bucks.
I strongly suggest saving up for a g27, fanatec, or thrusmaster as long as there is a belt drive for force feedback. The cheaper wheels, this being one have a gear drive. So when you overpower the force feedback there is epic gear chatter, whereas a belt drive slips smoothly and still provides a uniform feel. If you're willing to spend 100-150 on a wheel, save up and spend 300 on a much better wheel with proper pedals. It's worth it.
unplug the power adapter. It only powers the feedback motor & the GT light in the horn button in the centre. You can also turn off the feedback in the options menu
This is a great budget wheel. I use it when I play racers, which isn't often enough, and it's a marked improvement in terms of what you get from the wheel itself in the price range.
i just got one, and is pretty good :) . did some mod to the pedals, and now the got rid of the clicking noise when you hit the secondary spring on the brake pedal, plus inscreased the tension on the springs making it feel closer to how real gas and brake pedals feels
Only the logitech G25,G27,Thrustmaster T500RS, and Fanatec GT3 Wheels have clutch and stick. DFGT only has brake and accelerator, but has a sequential shifter mounted on the right hand side, like the WRC cars have, but also has an "adjust on the fly knob" to adjust TC,4WD torque split,ASM on-off,ABS strength, plus F&R brake balance! Very handy for change weather races or seasonal TT's!!
I got the DFP GT 4 and it cost me around 50 bucks, a good force feedback wheel for begginers works almost the same as mark´s wheel the only features that don´t have my wheel is the red ring for real tiem presets and the "PS" button otherwise its almost the same, turns 900° and blablabla...nice review ´tou
@MrCumstein Get the new Fanatec CSR Elite. It's expensive, but it was designed around the 360, and specifically for Forza 4, and also works with the PS3 and PC too.
If money is np problem forget about the G27. Get a ECCI weel ! Or a much more affordable thrustmaster t500RS. I still would wait for the fanatec clubsport wheel to be released. (I am kinda happy my G25 is on its last legs. Looking forward to something new ^^ )
The DFGT wheel itself is great, but like Mark said, the pedals are too soft. If you have these pedals, look into mods to increase the stiffness or try to find a set of g25/g27 pedals and adapt the pin layout to work with this wheel. (Note: if you do this, the DFGT will NOT support the clutch pedal on the g25/g27 pedal set)
Besides the clutch, the stick and the materials for the pedals on the G27, I wonder if the gameplay is worse than this Driving Force GT. You would think the Driving Force GT is better because it was designed by the same guy who designs Gran Turismo.
@nv602unclebuck actually i changed it back to normal cuz i find it tiring with bare foot after time. but yea you just open up the pedal and stuff something under the springs to increase the tension. To get rid of the clicking sound i just sticked some soft tape between where the metal and plastic make contact
thrustmaster VS logitech thrustmaster has 2 things goign for em, better senstivety in the hweel (no dead zone) better pedals resistance, however it hasa suvere lack of suprots for games and 45 degree turning, and if you push the brake pedal hard and its ntot propeprly atached to something it will do a somersault.
you have to set the wheel up for F1 2011-12. Go to the codemasters official F1 2012 website to get the correct settings. You'll find this necessary for most games
Still around $130 on most sites. Still really tempting though, especially for use with my PS2. The main reason I want it is to play Grand Turismo 4. I don't want to go spend $100 on a racing wheel and find out that I just suck at the game and not that I just needed a wheel. Does anyone know how much difference a wheel makes over a traditional controller?
Not the case sadly. Having both I can tell you the ffb on the g27 is much more agile and feels a lot more realistic ( and if you tried the dfgt on the normal 100 percent force lol 0 percent effects and centering you'd know it's more than a bit choppy which you can feel while drifting mainly but sometimes in tighter slower turns too due to the fast steering) anyway it's nice for the price but def not g27 quality
im getting one myself, and just to ask can u tell me how the force feedback feels,i mean like honestly i can handle it but just how does it feel before i start cranking the wheel and the force feedback flips me off my chair lol,but anyways reply to my comment and let me know :)
Fanatec Porsche 911 GT2/911 Turbo S > Logitech G27. The Fanatec wheels are slightly better than the Logitech ones and ARE COMPATIBLE WITH THE XBOX 360, PS3 and PC! :D
After 4 years, it still is the best for the money. You can also mod the pedals out with g25, g27, or g29 pedals by using just a Philips screw driver and reading some instructions online. No clutch though, but it fixes it's known brake pedal problem.
@eklipsegirl CGR retro news is still around and there are still new videos for it. Type in CGR retro news on the search bar. It should appear at the bottom of the page.
Hi I just picked up one of the DF GT wheels to use with GT 3 but the shifter doesn't respond I can only use the paddles did you get the shifter to work in GT 3, if so how thanks
I purchased this for Gran Turismo 6. So stoked!
Wow, a classic gameroom video that loaded without even showing an ad. Its a miracle!!
OMG Its been years since i last went through this channel.Good to see ya back!
I just got this and I cant understand how i played gt5 without it... it makes the game so much better imo
As a PS3/PS2 owner,I want that wheel. And Mark does great reviews on racing games and peripherals

i just miss those good ol reviews that were like 10 minutes long. i sometimes go watch old avgn's i already seen but it gets old quick.
i just got one, and is pretty good :) . did some mod to the pedals, and now the got rid of the clicking noise when you hit the secondary spring on the brake pedal, plus inscreased the tension on the springs making it feel closer to how real gas and brake pedals feels

anyone else starting to wish it was like it was a couple years ago when Mark was doing all CGR reviews?
Where did you get the fedex chair? It looks cool
I want one too
ive had my G25 for over 3 years.. still good as new, great quality
I love using this wheel for Rigs of Rods
This is a great wheel for the price. If you feel the wheel has a dead spot, you can plug it into your PC and adjust it with the logitech software.
OMG I just got the racing wheel for my birthday.
Thanks for all the racing game reviews! I've been considering dropping cash for a wheel. BTW...Will there be a shift 2 review?
great wheel, I use it for Gran Turismo 5 and need for speed shift
@TheGamer392 yes it does, and it is wonderful!
Yes at last this being reviewed!
Awesome background music !
Background Blues is awesome!
Excellent review!
i sold my dfgt and just bought a g27. cant wait to get it
@MrCumstein Get the new Fanatec CSR Elite. It's expensive, but it was designed around the 360, and specifically for Forza 4, and also works with the PS3 and PC too.
it looks awesome, only ways i could think of to make it better is manual with clutch and 360 [or xbone] support, otherwise perfect.
If money is np problem forget about the G27. Get a ECCI weel !
Or a much more affordable thrustmaster t500RS. I still would wait for the fanatec clubsport wheel to be released. (I am kinda happy my G25 is on its last legs. Looking forward to something new ^^ )
I did buy this recently, but I have to buy a playseat now because it always shakes too much on a table and the wheel comes off the table easily.
Great review mark.
I have a G27 and a playseat rookie. it is a perfect combination, the driving force gt is good. but if you can afford the G27 go for it!!
Just bought this wheel, fantastic value for money,£89 from Argos

@meistelhoang I don't know but I played Tekken 3 with the PS one Mad Catz wheel back in the day. Very interesting way of playing,
nice and clear review. thanks
Now you should review the new official GT5 wheel. The Thrustmaster T500RS.
@nv602unclebuck actually i changed it back to normal cuz i find it tiring with bare foot after time. but yea you just open up the pedal and stuff something under the springs to increase the tension. @JamesTCA
But what he meant was that they aren't as stiff as real peddles

Exactly bro, what's your problem. Does it affect you ?
Love your dog man :)
Wow, is that a Denny Hamlin playseat? I love that guy, he's VIRAL.
I'm getting one for my b-day yey
I have it and its awesomeeeee!!!
Nice information
@ariell92 The G27 fluctuates based on availability, it's typically 300$ lately. Right now you can get the Driving force GT on amazon for 115$.
would be nice if it came with the game for the three systems
since now you got stearing wheel, you should review "Live For Speed" racing simulator for PC
Still around $130 on most sites. Still really tempting though, especially for use with my PS2.

Does anyone know how much difference a wheel makes over a traditional controller?
Just how did you get FedEx to sponsor your racing?
did you notice any steering input lag on the PS3? (F1 2011) (or 2012 Demo)
i have the G27, and i honestly thing the G27 is very worth the money.
Nice, solid review, as usual.
However,
1:50 - Sega fanboyism shows again. XP
TANKS FOR THE VIDEO
People actually make their own "cars" to fit this steering wheel. It's quite impressive actually. HOWEVER, a lot of them miss the cup holder...
Games that are compatible are posted up on the logitech website.... Google it
I've yet to get this to work on a snes emulator for super mario kart, but it's gonna happen
good pedals: Clubsport pedals from Fanatec
If there is one gripe I have with this it is that the pedals are just too close together.
I suppose you could hook this up to the PC and emulate Super Monaco GP
Damn it i got this wheel for christmas but i didnt know the g27 existed or else i wouldve gotten it...always do ur research
omg the chair you have i need
I got a deadstock one in the box still in the plastic but the box a lil messd up
oh ok can you tell me do the pedals work good
yes it says that on the box
@ToiletMaker Which is fairly common to do in race cars now with no clutch pedal. This doesn't have one.
This is a very good wheel! Equally as good as the g27 and half the price ;-)
Where can you find this nowadays ?
Dany NBA amazon
Not the case sadly. iNeed Help I'm on a phone so I can't edit but I meant 100 percent force and 0 percent effects*
im getting one myself, and just to ask can u tell me how the force feedback feels,i mean like honestly i can handle it but just how does it feel before i start cranking the wheel and the force feedback flips me off my chair lol,but anyways reply to my comment and let me know :)

But will it work with Hyper Chase on the Vectrex???
The music doesn't seem to convince me this is a good buy :s
@eklipsegirl CGR retro news is still around and there are still new videos for it. Type in CGR retro news on the search bar. It should appear at the bottom of the page.
i remember you talking about this in an older video and you said it cost more than your current car haha
i liked the video before i watched it
nice song
Can you use the wheel for 'Driver San Francisco'?
What would be a good one for xbox
Should have bought this. The G27 is not fully "compatible" with GT5. The six buttons on the wheel do not work! Erry thang else is solid.
is it sunny inside? =P
yes
@SeaShepherd23 Which wheel?
This may be a dumb question but will it work with Gran Turismo 6?
Can i replace the pedals if i can find some better ones?
i would kill for mark's voice :(
I have that fan.
OMG its so cool B-) i want a ps3 NOW!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi I just picked up one of the DF GT wheels to use with GT 3 but the shifter doesn't respond I can only use the paddles did you get the shifter to work in GT 3, if so how thanks
it says in the descip dude
@randumbvids11 yea ur right my mistake i just revied the video
Is it compatible with Midnight Club Los Angeles??

Classic Game Room - LOGITECH DRIVING FORCE GT racing wheel review
@grgmj1980 I'm fairly sure it does.
i have the ps3 only model and its a complete discrace
