To become a Dutch Marine is not easy.
Every week there is a selection. 80 boys get a medical, physical and psychological check. This takes 3 days.
Only 2 sometimes 3 from 80 are selected to go to Rotterdam for basic training. The rest can go home or to regular army.
Then after 7 months from 150 marines only round 60 will end up as a Marine.
Dutch marines never serve as a cook, or pilot, or in office this is navy task.
They all get special forces training, cold weather in Norway, mountains in Schotland, Amazon Forrest..
Qua patet Orbis is our spell.

For those who believe that the dutch cannot fight: Read about the Lost Battalion..The forgotten War. In the Korean War they received the US Presidential Unit Citation from the president of the Us. It was the only battalion that received that twice. The were left behind as a plug to slow down the chinese advance and by dying given te U.S. troops time to escape, regroup and holding the line. They did not surrender and thought to be all killed, but those who survived fought their way back one by one against all odds.

Operation INTERFLEX - This is a UK initiative to train tens of thousands of personnel for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Program: basics of infantry soldiering in a five week course. UK invited the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) group to help scaling up training for large numbers of Ukrainian recruits. Response from the rest of the group to provide instructors has been enormous. All JEF member states cooperate and use several UK training sites. Training of AFU recruits is conducted by the whole group, including: Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, UK. - Canada and New Zealand also participate with instructors in the UK. Formally, that isn’t part of Operation INTERFLEX, but Operation UNIFIER, with a different program (artillery 105 mm field gun operation, and more), if I'm not mistaken. - Australia will help with their instructors from January 2023. - Later, selected AFU soldiers also return from the front to the UK, for a Junior Leadership Course over several weeks. - Last, but not at least, AFU will get MBT training (Leopard 2) in Poland, very soon, according to Ukraine’s Defence Minister Reznikov. - (This is not an exhaustive list)
USA - The US Department of Defense recently announced that they would be expanding their training of AFU personnel in January (2023). The new training program, conducted by the US Army at bases in Germany and Poland, will aim to train 500 Ukrainians per month giving them instruction on combined arms operations and tactics from the squad to the battalion level. US European Command spokesperson: "Since the U.S. started to provide security assistance to support Ukraine in defense of their nation, the United States has trained approximately 3,100 members of the AFU" (incl. artillery: 870 AFU gunners on M777 and M119 howitzers, 310 AFU gunners on M109, uknown numbers on HIMARS ...while M270 MLRS and M118 training was conducted by UK/NZ/CA). Public info as of December 2022.
EU Mission EUMAM - The new EUMAM Ukraine European Union training mission for the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), has reached full operational readiness. The mission is already working (first training already started in Poland in November 2022), the mission will teach at least 15,000 AFU personnel. It will cost EUR 100 million from the EU budget, an additional EUR 16 million will be spent on equipment for EUMAM. 20 EU countries participate in the mission, and training is spread out at locations in many countries. This is the biggest military mission the EU has ever built for any of its partners.
EFTA contribution - “In addition, non-EU Norway will provide EUR 50 million to support the EUMAM mission”, according to Josep Borrell, High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy in EU, on 3 December 2022. Norway is one of the four EFTA countries, and will also host training (now in Norway, previously at INTERFLEX sites in UK) from 2023.

It's just funny how the US claim to be the protectors of peace and human rights and don't care about getting involved in this conflict despite the human rights violations being committed by both sides (I believe Ukraine has committed some war crimes but that's word of mouth so I can't stand by that but I also can't look past it!)

I'm a Combat Engineer in the Dutch army, and the reason why we don't sit in the window during the breaching of a house, is because of glass splinters and schrapnel. You can never perfectly clear a window in the small time you have, so you want to step with your foot in the window frame, and not let glass pieces enter your 'ass' 😂. And the rank of the instructor is Sergeant. In the infantry a Sergeant leads a team of 7 men.

Correct for so far, just not a section commander but a group commander. An Dutch Infantry platoon have 4 sergeants/sergeant first class with a group of 7 or 8 soldiers. And a sergeant major/sergeant first class as platoon sergeant/deputy platoon commander. A infantery group have 1 or 2 corporals depending on their role in the group. Depending on the branch an sergeant will have 4 years of military experience in the most cases. Most start as an regular soldier and work their way up until the can opt for the Royal Military School. Short contractors will have a training for 6 to 12 months. Livers will follow a course of +/- 2 years.

The difference in training that you (rightfully) notice has a actual purpose; the idea behind this is, beside the basic training, to also teach each different group some certain techniques and combat tactics; like zone clearance, close combat techniques, Counter offense and raid tactics to name a few; They simply can't teach everything in such a short period, but the idea/purpose behind it is so they can share their knowledge what they have learned during the training once they arrive back to Ukraine... There they have another period of learning/practicing before being send to the front.

but the rotations of instructors is mostly because some country's have larger training grounds for surten types and thus more instructors for surten things that's why the groups are mixed and you have difrent locations. it's just to have the best instructors giving the best training on these speed courses as possible.
because alot of men need this training and they have a short timeframe so cooperations is key.

Which they did after D-Day. I'm sure that the Dutch instructors are well aware of the historical significance of their task since the history of the Regiment is well-known among all ranks.
