10:20 To connect the two tracks together, put the Makita track saw on the rail with one of the thumb screws (part #76) centered at the seam of the two tracks. Tighten the thumb screws (part #76) so the two rails align, then tighten the grub screws on the guide rail connector kit to lock in the alignment. Loosen the thumb screws (part #76) to so the saw can glide freely without play and test the smoothness of the fit by sliding the saw across the seam. If the seam catches the saw, the alignment is no good repeat the set up again until the saw slides smoothly across the seam. (This technique uses the saw's two adjustable guide holders (part #75) to align the rails by locking the holders tightly to the rail (making it straight) before tightening the grub screws on the rail connector kit. By centering the holder at the seam of the two tracks allows the holder to smooth out the discontinuity at the seams when it expands.)
Love TSO products. I have all these accessories too. I can't fit a 4x8 sheet good in my vehicle so I take these accessories and my Bora Centipedes and breakdown in the parking lot. Then I do my final cuts either at the table saw or my MFT table. TSO products are the best!
Great review of the TSO products! I finally bought the connector set after initially thinking they were over-priced. They work so well that now I think they’re a bargain. I also have the TSO square (original version) and I went through the same thing of thinking it was over-priced as well. I actually found someone selling his locally and did get it for a great price but after owning it I’d definitely pay full price for them and still think they’re a bargain. I also found my microjig dovetail clamps to work perfectly for a rail clamp. These are definitely a set of add ons that make a track saw more versatile and precise.
I have a Makita track saw and been thinking of buying Festool replacement. Why did you switch? Also how well do Makita tracks work with Festool? Thanks
I switched for two main reasons. 1. I was seeing some blade deflection with the makita that was causing issues if I was cutting something that would land on a joint. 2. I have festool dust collection and the switch made it more efficient for me to swap tools (plug it cord and the hose). I had absolutely 0 issues with the makita tracks and festool saw
@@beardedmoosewoodworking which Festool track saw did you buy? Also what do you think of the anti kickback feature on the Festool? Kickback is my primary issue with Makita and the short electric cord.
Thanks for sharing your experience with the TSO products. I've got the Makita tracksaw and, like you, I really struggled with the rubbish connector. For a start, there are no instructions on how to use it. I had to visit the 'university of UA-cam' to find some kind soul who could point me in the right direction. And, yes, it's not straight, and it doesn't even hold the rails together very well once you've made a few cuts and had to repeatedly reposition the track. I now tape the tracks together as well. I already own the other TSO rail square - fantastic - and, after watching your video, thought I'd spring for the connectors. But, OMG,£79 Sterling plus shipping!!! Really? That's more than the cost of one rail, and £40 shy of two. I guess I'll just stick with the tape.

I feel like the Bora is the perfect compliment to this!
Great video Colton! Definitely looking to go with this setup now that I got my track saw.
Thanks!!! This has been getting a ton of use in my shop lately!

Great video Colton. Video quality was good audio was great. I don’t have any track saw accessories. Might be time to change that
Thanks! For sure grab a rail square, makes squaring up table tops a breeze!

I have e TS55 FEQ so it doesn’t have the anti kickback feature like the cordless!
@@beardedmoosewoodworking crap!!! Didn’t know that. Thanks

Maybe just buy longer rail
If you have a solution that seems to be working stick with it!
I don’t think he’ll want to buy a longer rail if he doesn’t want to spend the money on the connector
You should have a 63" moose rack hanging from your wall..... ;-)
I’ll add that to the list!
Hello from GR!
Nicely done, subbing for more!
I have Makita connectors too and you are correct they don’t work so don’t waste your money

Poor review just checked the price of all those accessories total rip off and no better than less expensive ones
