I really enjoyed both of your reactions and comments for "Scent of A Woman" this was great. I have seen this movie a few times and Al Pacino is one of my favorite actors.... I like how you both are really invested in what was going on with Colonel . You both brought some good insights to this . Since this was really enjoyable to watch in your channel I would absolutely love to see both your reactions for "And Justice For All"~ 1979 with Al Pacino . Thank you both very much for all you bring to your channel
Great reaction guys, really loved it. One of my all time favourite films. My grandfather was blind and I tell you that Al Pacino pretty much nailed it with all the mannerisms. Saw a few tears from Joy in the "I'm in the dark here" speech, that scene gets me every time. If you liked the speech Pacino gives at the end then you should check out Any given Sunday with Jamie fox and Pacino.
I really like that Pacino’s character says that he doesn’t know if Charlie being silent on the issue is right or wrong. It’s not about should you or shouldn’t you protect a bunch of jerks. It was about Charlie making a decision, standing by it, and accepting the consequences. A good lesson imo
Thanks for reacting to this movie. I really want to watch the film itself now. Like Al Pacino’s character, I too had full vision 5 years ago, but am now blind in one eye and low vision in the other, and will eventually lose that. I frequently fall, and just this past Wednesday fell and lost my front teeth. I often think of suicide, but movies like this and the lives of functional blind people remind me there is a path forward.
@CDHord Hang in there! I can relate I'm 57 and my sight is poor. I just found out I have severe Cataracts in both eyes and need surgery. Not near as bad as what your going thru. My grand Mother is 99 and has been blind for over 10 years and even at her age she is highly functional. By your screen name I'm thinking you might be a music lover, that is one thing blindness can't take from you. Take care my friend:)
@@laudanum669 I am 55 and was diagnosed with macular degeneration. NO treatment for that. I will be blind some day that is for sure but like the eye doctor told me it could happen in 5 years or it could be 20. I do take a special vitamin to help slow it down and am having no signs of it right now
@@TNgirl546 Hey Rita if you read my comment above about my grandmother that's how she gradually lost her sight was through macular degeneration. It is a horrible thing to have to make peace with. But there are ways that you can help yourself as your eyesight diminishes. My grandmother got some help from a foundation where she was able to get a machine where she could put a book below it or a magazine pictures etc and it would magnify onto a large screen. My grandmother unfortunately just passed away 2 weeks ago a week short of her 100th birthday. I hope you can make the best of things and I would check into getting some help for one of those viewing units if you can. Take care wishing you all the best, have a good day.
Damn this took me back... This was the very first drama film I ever saw in theaters.. Being a kid, I had been into action flicks and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and my older brother took me to see this... It was an amazing experience let alone movie...I was in 5th grade... My older brother passed away in September 2020, like a week shy of his 45th birthday so any connection that reminds me of him I welcome... At the time my brother had a near identical life to the protagonist... We owned a restaurant but weren't rich... My Dad and Mom worked their asses off to send him to the most prestigious private Catholic high school in Ohio and he moved there alone in his sophomore year...ofc I did not realize how much he could relate bcuz I was still young, but this film opened me up to not just the kid fare I'd been on up till that point... Watching this with you guys made me 11 years old all over again so thanks
Hoo ah, one of my all time favorite movies and one that so few seem to know about anymore. So glad you found it and had the opportunity to enjoy it too, And if you are interested here are four more (often overlooked) Pacino movies of this same calibre I guarantee you will also love, ... "Donnie Brasco", "The Devil's Advocate", Serpico" and "And Justice for All".
Most excellent reaction!! Thank you!! I am glad you enjoyed this film, Col. Slade definitely had the definition of PTSD, and he needed to find his joy again, Charlie helped him achieve this, as far as a romance, that was nil, but a bro-mance obviously developed between Col. Slade and Charlie, timing is everything when you meet someone you need in your life.
Also he's a Vietnam veteran and the soldiers back then used to call the enemy ''Charlie'' and that boy's name is Charlie, imagine how hard was for Pacino's character to keep repeating his name. Anyways I love your reaction guys and greetings from Bulgaria.
Regarding Al Pacino in the 90s: "Donnie Brasco" (1997). Pacino and Johnny Depp, two of their best performances. Another mob movie, I put it right under the first two Godfathers and Goodfellas/Casino. Really good. And for the 70s, "Serpico" is the next Pacino one to hit.
Great movie!! Other great movies to check out are "Road To Perdition", "A Few Good Men", "Erin Brockovich", "Nightshift", "Trading Places", "Ben Hur", "Shawshank Redemption", "The Fugitive", "Burn After Reading" and "In Bruges"
"900 numbers?"... Lol... "Calling da bitches!" ... That was hilarious... 1-900-#'s used to be a thing back in the day.... 😆... Funny watching ppl not know what that referenced... ha... Im gettin old ... 😆🤓
I love the format/layout that you guys use with showing both of you and the film. Like the way everything is positioned when I watch the video on my big screen of you two. I hope that makes sense :-)
The good news: Denzel got his Oscar (and for a great performance)....and Pacino finally got his, after losing repeatedly for some of the most iconic performances of all time (Godfather, Godfather Part 2, Dog Day Afternoon, Serpico), while all his peers won their years ago, some with two Oscars (Nicholson, De Niro). Everyone knew he was going to get it, and not for this movie, but for his career.
React to “The Insider”. Directed by Michael Mann. Starring: Al Pacino, Russel Crowe and Christopher Plummer, based on a real-life whistle blower who used to work for a tobacco company, only to later be fired. He then gave an interview on 60 minutes, whose airing was cancelled because CBS was facing a potential lawsuit. Amazing movie, direction and acting. Russel Crowe was nominated for this movie, and it’s unforgivable that Pacino wasn’t even nominated, because he gave an amazing performance, as usual. You won’t regret seeing it. A truly underrated film.
My first love 😍 and I danced to the Tango based on this movie... I was a few years older and my life in Ireland 🇮🇪 during the war had been complicated she was from a a well of family
I always find it strange that people forget that there can be a bullet in the chamber, so even if he gives away his magazine he can still kill himself.. Everyone goes "aaahh, good, now he doesn't have any bullets".:D
Great reaction. You should check out Pacino's performance in the 1979 legal drama And Justice For All with John Forsythe, Jeffrey Tambor and Craig T Nelson (Poltergeist). The parking garage scene is great but Pacino's opening statement at the trial is one of the most memorable in film history.
Pacino won his only best actor award for this role after being nominated eight times. Check out Al Pacino and Johnny Depp in the mob movie Donnie Brasco.
@@MJoy4Fun Yes, Leonardo was nominated five times. They never seem to win for the movies you think they would. It was like when Paul Newman won late in life for The Verdict which was a great film, but he so many wonderful performances in a long career.
This was a good movie, and I enjoyed your reactions. I think a lot of credit goes to the casting for this one. I don't think it would have worked with out the great acting and chemistry of Al Pacino and Chris O'Donnell.
The commentor below me said the 90's were a golden age of hollywood. I think it is the early 80's to middle 90's. I think the movie industry went to the toilet when they "disaster movie" phase started to take hold. The trouble with the disaster movies is that they lacked a good plot and the deep development of the characters such as a movie like "Scent of a Woman" did. In regards to the movie, I don't think Al Pacino's character, the Colonel is completely totally blind. There are a few scenes where is obvious he can still see a little. Two examples are the dancing scene and the driving one. When Charlie asked to water the drink down. And his lackluster salute.
I think the 90's were a golden age of Hollywood. So many great movies from that decade. Including this gem!
I 100%agree
70s and 90s both.
No way how could you say that when we had the 80s?
"What life?? I got no life! I'm in the dark here! I'm in the dark.." That line breaks my heart every time.
Al pacino made this film 100% amazing
Im in the dark here , they skipped over the most famous line in the movie .
Pacino took home the Oscar for his role in this movie.
HOO RAH!
And was nominated in the Best Supporting Actor category for Glengarry, Glen Ross..
@@jacobjones5269 In the same year.
“You’re teaching him like a bitch.” “And he’ll turn out like a bitch.” I ❤️ that. It’s poetry and it’s truth.
Lol, it's good when two parents are on the same page.
Glad you guys reacted to this movie.... This movie is in my top 10 of all times.

The emotional complexity Pacino displayed in this role was amazing.

I love your phrase "When he lost his faith, God sent him an innocent man". That is profoundly beautiful ❤❤❤
Philip Seymour Hoffman plays the entitled stoner weasel to perfection in this movie. His character made my list of top ten all-time nasty characters.

Charlie was an old school baller, especially the way he told his poli sci teacher that Slade worked for President Johnson's staff.
The point of this story is, they both saved each-other's lives.

I hope they do, there's not many good reactions to that film.
“Donnie Brasco” is another mob classic starring Al Pacino and Johnny Depp
This movie has one of the most iconic speaches from Al Pacino or in film history in my opinion.
It's true. Action movies and dramas often start quite differently.
If you want romantic movie, watch "When Harry Met Sally" or "Sleepless in Seattle".
So glad you two covered this! Such a great movie!! Happy Easter!
