In terms of other Al Pacino movies for the "to be watched" list, I would also recommend: The Godfather trilogy, Scarface, Carlito's Way, Donnie Brasco, The Devil's Advocate, Heat, and Serpico.
When Pacino accepted the Oscar for this, he included in his speech really glowing things about his costar Chris O'Donnell....it really was touching and so heartfelt. I especially remember that.
"the day you stop looking is the day you die." Very poignant statement by the colonel that many viewers miss. It is him speaking about himself and how he feels. TYTY for reacting to this amazing movie. Great reaction and editing.
Thank you so much for reacting to this movie! Not enough reactors have made a reaction to this movie. It's a great film that teaches the valuable lesson that we all have something to be thankful for. It's my favourite performance from Pacino, given his long list of stellar roles. As a fellow Canuck, I look forward to seeing more reactions from you!
Another movie that hasn't been mentioned (to my knowledge) is Dog Day Afternoon. Great movie. Also . . . Pacino hated the script and didn't want to do the movie, but his agent insisted, telling him that he felt really strongly about it. And, as it turned out, it was the FIRST movie that he ever made to win him an Oscar. Great reaction!!! Love you two!
Happy Thanksgiving to you both Chandra & Jordan... and I give thanks for your great reaction. This is a brilliant under-the-radar movie... and as others have said, I too would heartily recommend watching Heat - another rare true piece of cinema with a superb cast. Wishing you all the best for the holidays! 👍😊
The guy you keep calling "Dusty" from Twister is actor Philip S. Hoffman. He was one of the best actors of the late 90's and the 2000's. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for the film Capote in 2005. Sadly he died in 2014 from a drug overdose, he was only 46.
I love this movie. Al Pacino and Chris O'Donnel were amazing. And I absolutely love when Pacino tangoes with Gabrielle Anwar. I know it is her only scene in the movie, but it is one of my favorite performances from her. I have seen Al Pacino in a lot of great movies. The Godfather films, Serpico, Dog Day Afternoon, And Justice For All, Scarface, Heat(which is an amazing movie) and Frankie and Johnny, just to name a few.
If you think about it, both Slade and Charlie saved each other’s futures. External forces threatened Charlie’s and Slade’s anguished inner turmoil endangered his
My favorite Al Pacino movie is "And Justice For All". "Scarecrow" with Gene Hackman is also an early favorite. Btw...I shared an elevator with Pacino in the late 90's. He was a client for the CPA firm I worked for in NYC.
Such a good movie, and one of the best acting performances I've ever seen! (He *did* win the award for it, deservingly so!) Everything about this movie was so good, acting, writing, the dialogues, both the comedy and the drama, the score, all of it! Other Pacino movies? The list would e long, but Carlito's way and The Heat will always be my favorites, even above his 'bigger titles' like Godfather.
Omg. So you're one of my fave couple reactors, and I watch most of your stuff... you have to watch HEAT! Pacino, Deniro, Kilmer,, Voight. You will love it!
Knowing Phillip Seymour Hoffman only as "Dusty in Twister" is one of the best things I've ever heard. Suggestions: Magnolia, Almost Famous, Capote, Doubt, The Ides of March, Moneyball, The Master, and The Hunger Games "trilogy"
The "flamethrower" speech is one of my favorites from a movie, however - It still doesn't beat either of these speeches from the movie "Henry V" (1989). 1. St. Crispin's Day speech. 2. Armored Ultimatum (Duke Thomas Beaufort's Message).
I remember watching this on a special for Al Pacino on AMC. The channel was celebrating his movies. So I watched like 10 movies of his throughout the weekend. And this was the last movie. And honestly this one actually made me tear up. I was like 17 when I 1st watched it. To this day, it’s one of my favorites. Top 20 movies for me
Hello Chandra & Jordan!😊 Nice to see you crazy Canadian kids reacting to this great film!😉 Happy Thanksgiving to you guys, too!🦃 Al Pacino's Academy Award is well deserved!🏆 The first film that always comes to mind for Al Pacino is "Scarface" (1983), a gangster classic.🏆 Chandra caught on to the overall plot early.👏🏻 Great reactions to this unique classic film, Guys!!!🎬👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
That pistol is a 45 ACP 1911. The guy who invented that was an absolute genius. Those who've disassembled them and see how it all fits together and how it works know this, it was groundbreaking for its era.
The funny thing about Chris O’Donnell and the woman, Al tangos with, They are both in the Disney Three Musketeers movie. He plays D’Artian, a young upstart trying to join the Musketeers. The woman plays the Queen of France and Julie Delphy plays Constance, D’Artian love interest.
First time watcher here - thanks so much, you two did a great job. Is there any way you would be into reacting to Ladyhawke? I think you would like it.
1:50 Dude, what you had to say was pretty simple, "I think the guy on the bottom right is Philip Seymour Hoffman, a very famous actor and one of the best American actors, who regrettably passed away ten years ago". See? It wasn't hard, and it was much less tragic than "Dusty in Twister". :D
The Tango scene is fantastic. Short but so romantic. The line about her beatiful laugh helped me land my current girlfriend. ❤❤❤. And Donna and Charlie were made for each other......
Arnold Schwarzenegger has said that when he watched this movie and saw Al Pacino do the tango scene, it inspired him to include a tango scene of his own in his next movie. Arnold kept his word. True Lies was his next film, where Arnold shows off his own moves.
Chestnut Hill is a wealthy suburb of Philadelphia. Stowe, Killington are popular ski resorts in Vermont. Gstaad is a popular ski resort in Switzerland.
Chestnut Hill is also an upper class suburb outside of Boston, MA. Since this school is supposed to be somewhere in New Hampshire, I always thought Chestnut Hill was in reference to the one in the New England region.
Thanks for the reaction! In fact, Al Pacino won the Oscar for best actor, after having been nominated multiple times. I know he has too many good movies, but I hope you have the opportunity to react to The Godfather Trilogy, Scarface, Dog Day Afternoon, Carlito's Way and Heat. Thank you so much!
There so many Pacino movies to choose from, I suggest Heat, with Pacino, Val Kilmer and Robert Deniro. It has one of the greatest scenes ever put on screen.
To me nothing like Pacino as far acting, he is the God of actors, I think nobody even comes close what Pacino does, I am just reading his newly published autobiography "Sonny boy", amazing, what a life he had and after all that difficulties became the greatest actor of all time to me................
Yall absolutely muuust seeee Dog Day Afternoon, Godfather 1 and 2, And Justice for All, and Serpico He absolutely killed it in the 70s, probably the best run of the era, and I rarely see anyone react to those Other big classics are Heat and Scarface of course
Pacino's filmography is too vast and legendary to narrow down, so all I can add to all the other suggestions here are my personal favorites, "Serpico" (1973) and "Glengarry Glen Ross" (1992), and some underappreciated gems such as "Insomnia" (Christopher Nolan's remake of a 1997 Norwegian thriller) and "Looking for Richard" (1996) (a wonderful documentary directed by Pacino himself).
He got both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
He won the Academy Award for this film. Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
And it is not his best at all... it was just about time to give him one, that's all.
@ it was a great performance though. Definitely better in the Godfather
@@DrewAnti1960 Oh yes it was, Pacino was at his best and had already a lot of experience, he totally steals the movie.
@@Balrog2005I agree, Pacino was excellent in this film.
In terms of other Al Pacino movies for the "to be watched" list, I would also recommend: The Godfather trilogy, Scarface, Carlito's Way, Donnie Brasco, The Devil's Advocate, Heat, and Serpico.
When you watch Godfather III, watch the director’s cut, “Coda”
Let's not forget Dog day Afternoon....
@@richardcavalloro8355right trade this for devils advocate on that list.
I'll add Looking for Richard and Any Given Sunday.
A nearly perfect list.
Scent of a Woman is timeless. Everyone watches that speech again! Great reaction guys.

My all time favorite Al Pacino role. An Oscar winning performance. HOO-AH!
When Pacino accepted the Oscar for this, he included in his speech really glowing things about his costar Chris O'Donnell....it really was touching and so heartfelt. I especially remember that.

HEAT ❤❤❤❤
You guys are going to love this! One of Al Pacino’s best performances!
Three of my favorite Al Pacino movies: Donnie Brasco, The Devil's Advocate, and Serpico.
I'll recommend "Carlito's Way" because it's a more obscure Pacino title. 🏆
My prefered movie of him.
Faaaar from obscure.

When filming “The Godfather” Pacino actually couldn’t dance, speak Italian, or drive. That makes the Waltz scene even better.
"The Devil's Advocate"!
First time here, you guys are great! Thanks for the lovely reaction:)
I can't imagine what it's like for your first Al Pacino movie to be this one
What a great choice this is!!!! You gave a wonderful reaction!!! Really enjoyed this.

The Ferrari scene also included the Twin Towers in the background, making it bittersweet.
Maplenuts, my favorite Pacino film is Insomnia, co-starring Robin Williams as a serial killer. Directed by Christopher Nolan. Grade a thriller.

Scarface is probably Al Pacino's most iconic movie
Devils Advocate is a great Horror Drama.
