    In 2015, an old man is looking for donations to save the clock tower. What isn't apparent is that we later see him as a young man in 1955 and he turns out to be Terry of Western Auto Sales. Terry is played by comedian Charles Fleischer who, a year earlier, was the voice of Roger Rabbit in Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Robert Zemeckis directed both WFRR? and BTTF2.

    Marty's job in this movie was to stop Biff from getting the book, but also to make sure the events in 1955 stayed the same. One wrong move and the original Marty might not have gone back! Plus, it's quite rare to watch a sequel that literally goes INSIDE the original film. Very unique!

      No one I ever watched it with didn’t immediately realize it was him & I certainly knew it was him right away. I’m quite surprised that most reactors (actually, all reactors, now that I think about it) don’t realize it’s him. The only thing I can think of to explain it is maybe it’s because he was just a much bigger star back then, so we recognized him more readily. To a reactor nowadays, he’s just another actor they’re not all that familiar with.

  • @0okamino
    @0okamino 2 роки тому +11

    They don’t really expand on his character in the movies, but Douglas Needles (portrayed by RHCP bassist Flea) is a rich kid who moved to Hill Valley in 1979. He and Marty knew each other in the 80s and became rivals due to Needles being a manipulative bully. Although they weren’t friends, they were acquainted enough for Needles to goad Marty into situations, usually by taking advantage of Marty’s issue with being called chicken. Needles managed to buy his way into The Pinheads (the band Marty is in), and lied about his musical skill (particularly funny because Flea actually is a skilled musician). On top of that, he was a jerk to the other members, so he was kicked out of the band, and Marty stayed in the band as the lead guitarist. Needles held a very bitter grudge over it, eventually getting a job at the same company with Marty, coming up with the scheme to get him fired, and probably ruin his reputation enough to prevent another company from hiring him.

    Fun fact: The actor who played Martys Dad, George. He didnt return for the second film. The shot where Biff meets Marty outside the Gym door and you can see Marty from the first movie thru the window. That was a double for George. He left for other reasons but the most known one is that he didnt like the idea that money buys happiness and didnt wanna represent that so he chose to leave

    • @NetanelWorthy

      The other main reason was financial. He would barely be making half of what Lea Thompson and Tom Wilson made. Their roles were very similar in size. Earlier, as you mentioned, he had questioned the morals of the ending, and this really pissed Bob Gale off. I think because of that relationship having been deteriorated, they didn’t have any interest in really negotiating his contract, and just decided to recast him.
      After the second film came out, he was very displeased with the performance and not happy that the producers used a mold that was taken of his face for his “old make up” in the first film, to create his likeness for an actor in the new film. He felt that this was profiting off of his name and image, and was also not happy that people did not know he was not in the second film. So he brought a lawsuit against the producers of the film and the studio. He won the lawsuit and was awarded $760,000.

      Not really any spoilers to warn about. Marty’s dialogue about the letter he just received had already established Doc was living in the old West of 1885. And the preview is actually part of Part Ii. It was intentionally put before the end credits by Zemeckis and Spielberg..

    I feel like a lot of people miss this before Biff flat out says it, so I'm just gonna say it. Marty was born in 1968 (17 in 1985). George was murdered and Lorraine married Biff in 1973. Marty would have been around five years old at the time (which may also be why Biff accepts Marty's explanation of knowing the manure story). If the circumstances of his birth were changed, like if someone else was his bio-parent, that would affect him pretty quickly as opposed to merely interfering with his parents' meeting, which could be fixed.
    This movie is pretty messy, but it's still my favourite.

    At one point there were 4 DeLorean Time Machines in 1955, the one Marty used in the first movie,the one old Biff used to give himself the book, the one Doc drove to 1955 to fix the changes Biff made and another one Doc hid in 1885. That car got around!

    In the scene where members of the Griff gang chase Marty McFly and crash into the glass of the clock tower, one of the stunt performers, Cheryl Wheeler-Dixon, almost died.
    All four stuntmen had to be equipped with seat belts and hung from a crane, which would provide enough speed to smash them against the glass windows. The crew member then had to press a button on a remote control, sending it down to the safety airbags below. After a couple of test runs went wrong, stuntwoman Lisa McCullough quit for safety reasons and was replaced by stuntwoman Cheryl Wheeler.
    The cameras rolled, and the stuntmen "flew" through the air. But Wheeler's setup didn't work right. She veered off course and instead of breaking the candy glass window, she crashed into a pole outside the building. Adding to the injury, one technician remotely released her, sending her 25 feet... onto concrete. 5:48
    Wheeler was badly injured and sued the studio behind Back to the Future 2, but footage of the crash is still in the film. As the gang crashes through the glass doors, Wheeler is seen falling to the pavement.

    In the original script, Marty's dad George at the end figured out Marty was his son when he was reading an old paper that said something on lines that said Marty caused a school riot with his rock and roll. Why do you think Marty got his black truck he wanted one day but never told his dad that was the car he wanted. George gave it as a gift cause for helping him become a more confident person and had a successful career as an author.
    Did you watch the first Back to the Future? Cause you seemed to not know who Strickland was when Marty was talking to him on his porch pointing a shotgun at Marty's head.
    Hoverboards don't use or run on air. Hoverboards use anti-gravity and water seems to skew anti-gravity making ordinary hoverboards not a le to run on water unless you got power like how Griff used little rockers to power his pitbull hoverboard to go over obstacles.

    1.It's not often sequels hold up to the original. Thank you 1980s.
    2.This one is the best of the bunch. The next one is inventive but I'm not really into the story.
    3. Michael J. Fox played the brief shots of Marty's daughter.
    4. The tunnel at the end is the same one they used for "Who Framed Roger Rabbit".

    When old Biff from the future goes back and gives young Biff the Almanac, it's not possible for him to return to the future he left from, he would return to the alternate future he just created.....kinda kills the movie when u turn ur brain on.

      And a book that contained a half century of sports statistics would be considerably larger than a magazine. If you turn your brain on you could find flaws in literally every movie that's ever been made, but movies at their core should be entertaining, and this trilogy certainly accomplished that in spades.

      Its important to understand that in Back to the Future there is only a possible single timeline. Even Doc explains it in detail in this movie. So the original plot, going to save Marty's son, is impossible to this logic because the moment they go to 2015 from 1985 Marty and Jennifer skipped 30 years of their existance. The future would be one where they fade out in 1985 lol.

    • @jowbloe3673
      @jowbloe3673 2 роки тому +1

      Have my own issues with the effects of time travel, but they explain it by saying it takes time for the effects to ripple across the years, like in the first one when his brother is slowly erased from the photograph (like that makes any sense) and Marty begins to fade at the end.

      @@davida7153 The whole "seeing yourself in the future" thing can, technically, work.
      ...as a highly theoretical experiment,
      Let's say that you were to travel one week into the future and stand in front of your house and wave hello.
      Then, you travel back to where you started, but you live out the next 7 days like normal.
      By the end of that week, if you look outside your livingroom window, you should be able to see your past self standing outside, waving hello.
      Now, to take it a step further...
      If you repeated the experiment. But this time, on your first trip forward, instead of standing outside and waving, you choose to go inside your house, you should be able to see a seven-days-older version of yourself waiting for you inside...as long as you make sure to travel back where you started and live out those 7 days to catch-up with yourself again.
