    Paul, you have invented an extremely effective METHOD of teaching Spanish. I (a true beginner in Spanish; started learning the language 3 weeks ago) only "discovered" you 4 days ago and am already making visible, satisfactory progress every single day. I am plannning to continue with you until I acquire a true, rich fluency and probably long after that. Hasta pronto.

    Paul is an amazing teacher. And as a retired teacher I know what I am talking about. His lessons are clear, fully explained with much repetition to help understanding and memorization. His voice is calm and patient. I have learned more with Paul than any other teacher (in person and online). I look forward to my daily sessions. So happy to have found you Paul!

    Merci beaucoup .😊

    If anyone is on the fence about buying the paid lessons, do it! And here's why:
    I am a SpanishwithPaul youtubevideo watcher for almost a year and am now a paid member.
    1. Don't worry, what he is teaching works in Spain too. (I live in Barcelona, Spain).
    2. His program is laid out beautifully and skillfully where each lesson builds onto the next.
    3. The categories are broken down into bite size lessons so you can stop when you need and pick back up easily.
    4. After a lesson: there are lots of examples helping cement the topic.
    5. If you watch his free weekly lessons and don't know if you will get anything from his paid membership - yes you will. His free lessons only touch the surface of what this program has. I am kicking myself "Why didn't I start sooner?!'
    My Spanish has grown more with his lessons than it ever did living right here in Spain.
    Thank you Paul!

    Hola Paul, tengo tres preguntas: ¿Por qué el secundo "a" en la expresión "iba a" no se pronuncia? Como lo hacemos cuando decimos "voy a". ¿es algo típico para Mexico o América latina? También, for "tomorrow morning" ya oí "mañana por la mañana", y quiero saber si: ¿es la misma cosa que decir "mañana en la mañana"?

    Iba a hacerlo mañana.
    Para ti.
    Iba a hacerlo para ti mañana en la mañana.
    No iba a comprarlo mañana.
    To call = llamar
    iba a llamarte
    Iba a llamarte mañana en la mañana.
    más tarde en la noche
    hasta means until
    How would you say to tell.
    Decir means to tell
    What happened que pasó
    Whats the word for something?
    Algo
    Paul your method is so creative, interesting and engaging at the same time.
    No iba a decirte que pasó.
    Pensé que
    Pensé que no iba a hacerlo
    Pensé que es posible de aprender ingles más facíl.
    .

      “I am going to do it tomorrow” is saying what you are planning to do. “I was going to do it tomorrow” is saying what you had planned to do but now might be different. Example 1: “when are you going to do this?” “I am going to do it tomorrow.” Example 2: “when are you going to do this?” “I was going to do it tomorrow, but if you need me to do it today I can.”

    I try to stay away from phrases such as "Penso que" because i am unfamiliar with the subjunctive. but i see you do not use it here. why is that? if you Paul or anyone else has an answer i am all ears!

    • @Shaahir
      @Shaahir 5 років тому +4

      Michela Williams My guess is that when you say “I thought....”, that means you truly believed that whatever it was, was a fact . There was no doubt therefore it doesn’t trigger the subjunctive. If you said “ I don’t believe “ or “ I don’t think” you’re expressing doubt/uncertainty which in turn would trigger the subjunctive.

    • @ninadouglas6289
      @ninadouglas6289 3 роки тому +2

      The subjunctive is not always necessary after “pienso que”.

    So "fue" is out of the picture altogether. Interesting! Oh I just realized that means "it was", and you are saying here "I was".

    • @legaleagle46
      @legaleagle46 7 років тому +4

      "Fui", not "fue." Fue means either "he, she, it was" or "he, she, it went," as it is the preterit of both "ser" and "ir," but "fue" is the he/she/it form of the verb. The "I" form is "fui" and can mean either "I was" or "I went." The difference between "iba" and "fui" is that "iba" means "I was going" or "I used to go," whereas "fui" simply means "I was" or "I went."
