🤔
I agree, stay away from processed foods as much as possible and focus on REAL food, movement, flexibility, & of course, the Lord:)... Congratulations on your sweet baby. Blessings💕
bruh i educate folks and i still get cussed out lol
and i practice what i preach aka no alcohol or smoking lol
That's such a shame! Glad to hear you're consistent! Thanks for the comment and for watching :)
Nurses are first and foremost patient advocates. If we simply go along to get along we have failed. To many health professionals oppose supplements because they themselves don't understand what "unregulated" means. Just because something is not FDA approved does not mean its bad for you or unreliable. We all know how many FDA approved products have been recalled, linked to cancer, cardiovascular issues, injury and death. So yes if nurses are not being advocates they are just as much to blame
Thanks for your thoughts!
You started out ok then went to take supplements and hydration packets
Hey Kara, thanks for watching and for your comment. While they don't replace whole foods, I do believe supplements have their place and can be incredibly beneficial, but only if their supplementing a healthy, balanced diet.
Maybe some nurses don't educate their patients on diet and exercise that often because they assume the doctor is going to do that. That's just a guess though.
That's definitely an unfortunate reality!
Um... no. Nurses are NOT to blame. As nurses, we shouldn't be pushing protein powder, athletic greens, hydration packets, etc. either. Many of these products are unregulated and contain added sugars, calories or toxic chemicals. In fact, I would advise my patient against taking these supplements unless prescribed by their PCP for a deficiency. Our job is to provide patients with the RESOURCES to learn about proper nutrition and exercise, i.e. *dietitians* , personal trainers, online learning modules, etc. Harvard Health has some excellent online courses. Obesity is complex and multifactorial. Science has proven this.
Thanks for watching and for your thoughts. I agree with you and would take it a step further and say that no one should be pushing an individual to take anything. Just like you said, healthcare professionals should provide resources and insight on options that an individual can pursue, but it's ultimately their decision.
I figured out after two years of nursing, that alot of the health care system is just a big money scam. But I've had many outpatients in E.R. complaining about their 'back pain'. I tell them to get off the drugs, watch online yoga videos, and do it along with the video, and then swim forty lengths in a pool twice a week. Their solution is to tell me to hurry up, and get the doctor so they can re-fill their Vicodin script so they can get out of this madhouse of an E.R. so they can get home. How do you educate daily occurrances like that?
Thanks for the comment, Edward. It can definitely seem like that. Unfortunately like a lot of things in our society, people want instant results and gratification. It's much harder to have the discipline to exercise and take care of yourself when compared to taking a pill.
