- C.J. Snare, the frontman and a longtime member of American rock band Firehouse, has died at the age of 64.
Snare’s untimely and “unexpected” death was announced via the band on social media last night (April 7).

Everytime one of these guys passes away, a piece of the rest of us dies with them. So hard to believe that this many years have passed us by. Those first 3 records especially, were rock art, and that music meant and still means so much to me. It was part of the soundtrack of my young adult life. R.I.P. C.J..... You were one of a kind.
Man, I told a buddy something to this regard the other day. Everytime we lose a musician or celebrity who inspired us, we lose a little bit of ourselves. It's a grim reminder of getting older and like you said, hard to believe this many years has went by. But their music and art will live on and never be forgotten and that's a fact.
@@drjay73 The only celebrity I ever shed a tear for so far, was EVH, not because I knew him personally, but because his music was such a huge part of my life in my late teens and early 20's. Even if you didn't know him, you still felt like in a way, you did, and even though I know that none of us are going to live in this flesh forever, it just didn't seem right that there would never be another new note of music from Eddie, the Michael Jordan of guitar, the guitar king, to which so many aspired to be like. To know that there would never be another chance to see him play live, ever again, just hit me hard. That dude did more for me than a thousand actors/actresses ever could, just by the notes that emanated from his fingertips. I was blessed to see Firehouse just once, more than 32 years ago. I should have seen them again, and now, it's too late to see C.J. sing again. He was immensely gifted, as a singer and musician. Life is short, my brother. Too short.

@@500erider VH was my favorite band and I probably get a little teary eyed for Eddie, Jani Lane and a few others...Eddie kind of slowly faded away over the final 20 years of his life so it didn't hit me as hard as it would have...
RIP. One of the best voices ever on a power ballad. Many thoughts and prayers to his family, friends and band mates. We lost another good one

My 19 year old daughter loves these guys and actually got to see them a couple of years ago... She's studying to be a doctor and I text her all the time to reach for the sky... She replies Firehouse... You touched many people... Rip
This man and Firehouse are one of the main reasons music has been so important to me. My first CD as a kid was the self titled Firehouse album. Such a sad day. I'm still in shock like so many others. RIP CJ. This one really hurts.

RIP CJ. I'll never forget seeing Firehouse open up for Dokken in the 90's. Truth be told, I wasn't a huge fan at the time but after their live performance - they blew Dokken off the map - I had a whole new respect for them! He was one of the greatest singers of his generation and this is truly sad. No more pain CJ - your music will live forever

My first concert was firehouse and Tesla. CJ owned a stage like no frontman I’ve ever seen. His unique voice was always unmistakable and the perfect fit for firehouse. He’s always been one of my top three favorite singers.

RIP CJ. I grew up as a teen listening to the hairbands and remember don’t treat me bad always getting lots of attention on MTV. As much as I hate mTV now I am blessed it was once a great channel during the 80s and 90s. Thanks for the great music firehouse. So many of us appreciated great music like yours

I was lucky enough to see him with Max Warrior back in the days before Firehouse. White Heat out of Richmond was rockin the local bar scene. They formed Firehouse. Good times. Hey Bill, you guy's had a hell of a run. Yall"s music will live on. C.J.'s vocals were second to none

I miss that guy too. I remember seeing them the first time on the Warrant, Trixter, Firehouse Tour and many times after that. Such great vocalists & songwriters.

What was strange about Firehouse and Extreme in early 1991 was that the record companies were abandoning most of the great metal bands of the mid to late 80s (such as Ratt) and then these 2 Metal type bands came one the scene with great hit CDs out of nowhere... I saw FireHouse in 1993 at Lamour's in Brooklyn and CJ's vocals were great...I was sorry to hear this news about CJ...Those 33 years flew by amazingly fast....

I saw them in 1990 or '91 opening for warrant in Morgantown. West Virginia was never a huge fan of the band but recognized his talents. RIP

Damn what a loss. I love Firehouse and had the pleasure of seeing them live on a couple of occasions. This definitely puts everything in perspective of how time literally flies by. It seems like it was yesterday when I heard Firehouse for the first time! I lived near Charlotte NC so there was much talk about the band on the local rock radio station out of Charlotte. Great band and exceptional vocals. This is very somber news for the rock community. CJ will be missed and his unique vocals will be missed. My condolences to friends and family.

His last words were that he was excited to tour after his recovery and that he was feeling stronger everyday. He was fighting the disease and then unexpectedly passed away from cardiac infarction.
Cancer sucks: Ronnie James Dio, jan Khuemund, and now, CJ Snare 💕 loved all of them. Firehouse, was probably the last great band that came out of that generation, theyre debut album didn't cone out till 1990 although they were definitely an 80s band!
