I saw Madam X with Sebastian in a small club. It was either late-86 or early-87. I brought just a point and shoot camera, but wound up with some good photos. The band invited me backstage, offered me stuff off the deli tray, and we’re all-around nice people. Sebastian even had me take band photos with his disk camera.

I found Madam X music on UA-cam in like 2009-ish. Chris working his ass off at day jobs and still putting it all into the band is pure passion.
Madam X was a popular act in the Detroit area. While folks think Bach is a better singer I have to disagree. The bands best works were with the bands original singer Kaiser imo. Seem's Bach started off Immature and has kept the immaturity train rolling to this day. I was fortunate too catch both Madam X and Seduce in their hey day's in 1984 and 85 both were highly legit bands that should had gotten bigger but didnt.

I saw Madam X a few times in the 80's at a place called The Weigh (Way?) Station in Oxford Michigan. The only reason we went to that bar was they had "Drink and Drown" night on Wednesdays and you paid 5 or 10 bucks to get in and drank as much as you could between 8pm and midnight. Having experienced Sebastien back on Skid Row's first album tour, I can 100% believe what Chris Doliber is saying about Sebastien because Sebastien was that and much more with Skid Row, causing fights with bands opening on shows with Skid Row, in my case Platinum Blonde, where Sebastien's mouth ended up with Platinum Blonde's singer being grabbed and pulled over barricades by the crowd as the bands were walking to the dressing rooms after sound check, and Platinum Blonde having to cancel their show that night because the singer was the target for the audience because of Sebastien running his mouth about another Canadian singer because Sebastien was trying to convince the world he was American when he first started with Skid Row. He was pretty well-known around town, both as a performer and a drumming teacher - my kid brother took lessons for him for awhile. He’s still well-remembered by folks who were around here and crossed paths with him, he was a pleasant, humble guy by all accounts. (I think I said hello or was introduced to him one or twice.) Darn shame that he passed away so young.

I couldn't imagine trying to be in a band with Sabastian. That guy was off the hook. Especially as a teen. I guess somehow see saw thru and found what it took. One of the all time greats!
Maybe the reason the band is relatively unknown is because of the choices you made getting rid of someone for a reason like that you shows why never made it big
I went to a concert last week at Pine Knob. They recently changed the name back from Dte to Pine Knob. I know it isn’t a big deal unless you lived in Michigan before the name was initially DTE. I don’t think anyone in Michigan ever called it that. 😂
I love Madam X but/and Bach went on to do great things that I don’t see happening in Madam X considering the fracturing in this style due to the Twisted Sister-fication effect. Which is not a criticism. I just don’t think all those incredible Skid Row bangers and ballads would have ever happened with Madam X. Currently I’m more likely to throw on Madam X because it’s raw, fun, and exciting since I haven’t heard it 9,000,0000 times like all the “big” bands. My favorite stuff has and always been stuff that I’m able to feel personally attached to because it was never pushed on me by the radio or music industry etc.
I have no dohbt that Sebastian is hard to deal with. But this guy sounds like he's one of those guys who will just get rid of members right and left to the point of counterproduction. But chemistry is everything and now where is he? Whats his net worth how well is his music known etc. Sebastian got the last laugh.
While dumping Sebastian was probably a mistake, I get where Chris’s head was at the time as I too have found myself at a point in my career where I was getting older and felt a sense of urgency when it came to surrounding myself with motivated players who shared my vision. That type of mindset however rarely works out and generally winds up with you scratching your head some years down the road and saying to yourself “if only.”
MX was a good band,Kaiser could sing his ass off.Sebastian Although a great singer and frontman Bach is pretty much a disease to a lot of people.Think about it,a lot of money has been offered for skid row to reunite with Bach and they are like nope we would rather be happy....That speaks volumes
Great Rock Voice ≠ Great Rock Star or even just a good person. I’ve heard so many upsetting stories about Sebastian it’s just Sad. Instead of his maturity and wisdom, it’s only his Ego that grew.
Exactly my thoughts.....I question and think someone has been confused and plays in grandmas closet...add their recent statement on not supporting our 2nd Amend ....soft and more fifi ...sorry folks, facts on the table and calling as its seen.
He's trying way too hard to justify his terrible "business" decision... back in the day, now he's only relevant because Bas was briefly I abandoned with him.
@@JimFreeman-h6g Think you're being necessarily harsh. Madam X wouldn't have gone anywhere even had they kept Sebastian. Their music is mediocre at best. The only band that made it that had that kind of look was Poison. Even then, they watered it down as they became more successful. Skid Row fired Sebastian for the same reasons, and worse things. LOL
Sounds like Sebastian has had every opportunity to be as great as he could be, but he get's in his own way. I would've KILLED to just be able to work in a recording studio, or in a record label processing mail, and he can't just get along with people and appear normal enough to have all the success in the world. It's terrible.
This is an interview with a never was, Sebastian moved on to the right band and left the garbage behind. Madam X?? way down the list of any memorable band. Sorry, I tell it like it is.

Hair Metal doesn't really reflect the era; long before " grunge" supposedly killed it, no one with half a brain or any talent did anything but cringe. Funny, now that society has spun so hard in a entirely joyless, miserable direction, you almost wish it was something relevant.
From what I heard back in the eighties is that Madame X invested a lot of money onto Sebastian with vocal training dance lesson so he could get some moves on stage. As soon as he developed and got comfortable with the stage he bailed on them. That's what I were told?

I really dug Madam X
Sebastian should be thankful they let him go be otherwise he never would've been in Skid row.
I have no dohbt that Sebastian is hard to deal with. But this guy sounds like he's one of those guys who will just get rid of members right and left to the point of counterproduction. But chemistry is everything and now where is he? Whats his net worth how well is his music known etc. Sebastian got the last laugh.
But he hasn't had any bangers in 30 years.
Wouldn't OG skid row get the same royalties?
Ha! I grew up in Port Huron, MI. Too funny
doesnt sound like a great reason to kick him out...maybe talk to the guy first?
you also dont spit on the guy....
23:24 Slappin' da bass.
RIP MARK BAM BAM MCONNELL
I used to hang with Mark back in Gainesville.
Hes got that late 80s early 90s ego
MX was a good band,Kaiser could sing his ass off.Sebastian Although a great singer and frontman Bach is pretty much a disease to a lot of people.Think about it,a lot of money has been offered for skid row to reunite with Bach and they are like nope we would rather be happy....That speaks volumes
Well, he did the right thing at that moment. Sebastian wasn’t doing what needed to be done to make it.
Great Rock Voice ≠ Great Rock Star or even just a good person. I’ve heard so many upsetting stories about Sebastian it’s just Sad. Instead of his maturity and wisdom, it’s only his Ego that grew.
Miss the hairdos and Stiff Stuff hairspray ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Not me. That part was super lame. Leave the silliness of appearance trends to the nontalent pop music
Boy people try to paint their picture. In totality, you let this dude pass, you lost with your choice. Live with it you were wrong.
They still may have not gone anywhere with him. Skid Row wrote great songs and are all talented before Bach.
Madam X, never heard of her.
Hilarious 🫤
Sounds like some cookie cutter tan ten ten band
Exactly my thoughts.....I question and think someone has been confused and plays in grandmas closet...add their recent statement on not supporting our 2nd Amend ....soft and more fifi ...sorry folks, facts on the table and calling as its seen.
Difficult to follow this guy's story....
Why?
He's trying way too hard to justify his terrible "business" decision... back in the day, now he's only relevant because Bas was briefly I abandoned with him.
@@thedude4672 All this stuff that supposedly happened backstage in Baltimore or wherever... it was a confusing, stream-of-consciousness diatribe.
LOL
I think the sound is harsh. And the video is too long. JMO
Too bad Sebastian hasn’t really grown up and that’s sort of overshadowing his talent.
Who?
Sounds like Sebastian has had every opportunity to be as great as he could be, but he get's in his own way. I would've KILLED to just be able to work in a recording studio, or in a record label processing mail, and he can't just get along with people and appear normal enough to have all the success in the world. It's terrible.
This is an interview with a never was, Sebastian moved on to the right band and left the garbage behind. Madam X?? way down the list of any memorable band. Sorry, I tell it like it is.
And you are who ? Exactly! A nobody !!!!
Don't be sorry, you nailed it
He’s so amazing skid row won’t have a thing to do with him now, but there was that one time 🙄
@@michaelwills1926 They made their money with Bach but if they had no money left, we would see how serious they are
@@stephanea5364Skid Row has other investments besides Skid Row. Snake is a band manager under McGhee Entertainment and manages Phil Anselmo's band Down among other bands and Rachel has his Dirty Rocker Soap company he's had for years. They all have outside investments, Bach drank and snorted his money, Skid Row will be fine. In fact Dave said they could retire comfortably now if they wanted, but they still love playing.
Thank u
America should thank me that I pushed him to the limit, he says.
Who is that clown?
The guy who Sebastian learned from and who fired him, which led to Bach's Skid Row tenure.
So yeah, Skid Row fans should thank him
@@thedude4672 Wow, I hope you thank your boss when he fires you
Exactly-he's is a clown and his memory of everything is quite amusing if you were there.
@@thedude4672 maybe, but that's not something you proclaim or demand, it reeks of sour grapes or ego, either one nobody respects, just makes you look petty and undermines your position
He taught him everything by spitting snot he hocked up in his face when he was 18. A true scholar of Buddha.
This is awesome. FIB RULES
Thank you, John!
I remember madam x adverts. And thats it. Sounds like la bida loca!!!
My little sister could be his twin..😮
Fuck yeah 🤘
Never knew about Bas past before Skid Row, this is so cool, (except the spitting, that sh** is gross)
Pine Knob is Pine Knob once again
Sounds like Bon Jovi knew Sebastian was at a whole other level. Don't forget if it wasn't for me he wouldn't had made it. Blow me!
Who
Old madam x is great stuff.
Got this shit and took both bottles daily and nothing
That may be the biggest hair I've ever seen on a man.
I grew up in the 80s, so that's saying something!
🤘
I like Bach great voice I can see that he would be hard to work with so I understand why they fired him but the band has never been as good without him
Bam Bam!!!
Hey...Wolfman. I know you. James in Redding, CA
You were apparently told wrong, since the guy in this video is pretty much the leader of Madame X and said that he fired him.
I were there at the time in L.A. besides there were so many better bands than Madame X at that time in L.A I believe Bas make his move and left. Shout out to the Throbs!
