This version, in my opinion, shows me that he can polish his act to show emotion with hand movements rather than clutching the microphone and expresses the song in his way. Fantastic!
Nobody will ever beat his first audition. The problem with the X Factor and other talent shows is that they whittle away at the raw natural talent by "polishing" up a performance, wearing away the rough edges that made the original so appealing. The way he belted out those original notes, straight from the heart, was definitely his best performance. Useless to try to make the best better.
