Just FYI, the texture glitch with his fur is due to your emulation--the OG game doesn't do that, from my recollection from when I was a kid.

Correct. My PS2/3 never did it but as soon as I was forced to use it on my laptop with an emulator (because PS3 stopped playing PS2, and I didn't have a physical 2 anymore) it started doing that texture thing.
I actually adored this game as a kid.. some of the music is still stuck in my head, like the ski resort track.. It was better than it had any right to be.
Oh my God this game was THE SHIT (literally, love the shitting mechanics) back when I was a kid.

It's as if the dog is being hydro dipped as you walk. Each texture layers up until it is completely black. Very interesting emulation glitch.
If I stumbled upon this game back in the day, I'm positive it would have been that buffer game to chill out to between playing serious games or bingeworthy games.
Seems like a cute and chilled out game to smile to.

but the fact this game also has camera issues, weird controlls, and Shadow related problems is SO cathartic to me

I rented this game back in 2004 from blockbuster because I was an obnoxious little 9 year old girl that loved Dogs.
The memories make me sad.
I remember playing this game on a snow day off from school back in 2004. My Brother pretended to try to cook our dog at the time as a joke. When he put her down, she started limping and we both got scared. She turned out to be fine. Lol.
Then later that day my friends came over and we played all day. We played school, walked over to the Deli for some snacks, and played in the snow.
I miss my dog and my childhood.
I actually really enjoyed how the chihuahua ran haha.

I enjoyed the demo when it came out, but it was enough for me. I also remember this game needing specific settings for some emulators to get running correctly.

I remember getting to the snow resort and hitting a hard point, and never ended up completing the game. I don't know if I was just a dumb kid, or the game was genuinely hard to figure out. I think it was a bit of both.
