The small joke about Garfields tail (11.10) almost went under the radar. But blurring the tail for a second was quite brilliant, days after seeing this, it still cracks me up. The mix of comedy and gaming is top notch!

Just a reminder the plot of a tale of two kitties was the prince and the pauper which explains the setting of the game but the movie overall made it look like the UK was led by a cat that looks exactly like Garfield so I'm glad they didn't know because they would have just been offended

to those wondering what the "with a hangover" part of the german review meant, Kater means male cat and hangover in german.
The fact that someone can go from THIS to making A Plague Tale: Innocence gives me hope for humanity.
Just like Bill Murray they were probably contractually obligated to make this game whether they wanted to or not, let's face it no one wanted this sequel and the producers/director of this movie should feel bad about themselves for trying to make this trash and market this trash
Not to mention they also made the 2020 Microsoft Flight Simulator reboot that’s sitting at 91% on Metacritic (they’re also currently working on a followup for next year). Hard to believe they’re the same studio that made this and Sitting Ducks.

The Garfield movie would have been so much better without the CGI. Just put Bill Murray in a Garfield suit. Like a really crappy jumper. That would have been so much better. Picture Bill Murray wandering around in Garfield PJs and everyone treating him like a cat. No big furry head, just Bill Murray in a jumper. That would be HILARIOUS.
Garfield was actually funny and clever in the 'Garfield and Friends' cartoon from the late eighties and early nineties. The animation and writing really captured the look and the humor of the comic strip, and the voice cast was excellent, especially Lorenzo Music as Garfield, of course. Everything they've done with the character since has been absolute balls.
Lorenzo Music was Peter Venkman in the firstseries of the Real Ghostbusters cartoon as well, which is another interesting Lorenzo Music/Bill Murray animation/live action coincience.
You think that’s bad? Try “The Mummy Returns” on PS2. It’s was my 8 year birthday present alongside the awesome game Summoner (2001 PS2 Launch Title) and even to this day in my late 20s I have no idea how to defeat the Scorpion King. I did see a video how to do it, but there was only a text screen for the ending and it goes back to the main menu.
I believe they have actually played it, a couple of years ago I think. They did also think it was terrible you'll be glad to hear.

"with a hangover" is probably a bad translation of "mit dem Kater". "mit dem Kater" could be "with a hangover", but surely it is supposed to mean "with the male cat" here. Hangover and male cat are the same word in German.

I dug deep into finding voice actor information, and it turns out Garfield in this game is actually voiced by an actor called (and I swear I'm not making this up) Jon Bernard.
The reason I said I wasn't making that name up is because Garfield's owner is also called Jon, as most Garfield fans know.
This game was great on PS2 with my younger siblings.
The opening sequence gave me serious “The Zoo Race” vibes

Funny that 4players has been mentioned in this video, because in my opinion its probably one of the worst websites for gaming in germany. And there are quite a lot of those. They got shut down a year or two ago.
PS: And no... there is no saying with hangover and I am german.
Am I the only one annoyed that they didn't realize that the item they were collecting was actually lasagna and not tiramisu...? Especially after Garfield/Gustav clearly said "Mmm..Lasagna because I'm worth it" after collecting one. Or did they actually know and were only joking, I honestly couldn't tell...lol

Garfield's spinning animation here makes me think of a Commodore 64 game called "Lee Enfield". It has enemies that look like wanking polar bears. There's a clear resemblance between them and Garfield here.
Since "Lee Enfield" regularly appears in all kinds of "Worst C64 Games Ever" lists, I'm not encouraging anyone to seek it out. Unless you want to see wanking polar bears, which you know you do.

I can't get over how that collect-a-thon mission is like literally the collect-a-thon joke mission from the beginning of Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. You know, the one where the point is how it is just bad collect-a-thon mechanics and placements and such.
I'll give this game one thing though...some of that music is _funky_ . One track reminds me of a Faith No More song.
I live about an hour from Jim Davis' (creator of Garfield) hometown of Muncie Indiana. People in Indiana are proud of having someone "famous" from a relatively small town. I think Garfield comics are pretty funny.

I'm only here because I overdosed while watching the first Garfield movie. I wasn't prescribed but had lots of access to methadone. It's an opioid. I took too many and my last thoughts before I died for a moment was.... this movie is terrible. Then I woke up thinking I went through a tunnel that led me to old friends I missed who were still alive. What I saw was fragments I had to put back together to understand what they were again. It was like a hard reset. I can speak at lengths about being dead a moment but the biggest thing was me understanding that the movie was horrible. It wasn't the reason at all. I just took to many, didn't think I took any so I took more and didn't remember so I took more again until my friend called 911 and I woke up with stories of friends I haven't seen in years who are still alive. The tunnel was a bit more like trying to understand light. I couldn't understand anything I saw until I woke up and. Death is death. Your going to see a reboot. Your going to have to learn things again real fast. You went into brain decay and came back. If you think God.... no no no. It's chemical tolerance and the narcan... medicine with some compression. I'm alive from science and luck. Lucky the people who helped me did what they did. And they had no clue what I did to myself. They tried narcan and it was over twenty years ago now. Garfield is a bad movie
I played this for the first time on holiday to Spain as they had a ps2 and games in the villa we stayed at got stuck at one point as there was no clear direction of where to go, may give it another go at some point though as I love 3D platformers
