Hey Whimsy. You're right about Paragon and Renegade. The bigger the color bars in your profile are the more answer option you will have to solve problems anywhere. Litte tip from me. Its not alway good to be nice. Sometimes think for the greater good like Dumbledore used to do before things got out of hand. You know. I know you know everything about that world. Greetz
Wanted to take the time to thank you for adding timestamps. Most people never bother for longer videos. Saves me from seeking trough the video. I mostly skip the traversal and combat parts.
i love that you're taking your time! don't worry about what people watching might want, you're the one playing and if they want they can replay or get the game for themselves:) and you're truly spoiling us with the long episodes 😩❤
Whimsy, remember: if people find your play style boring, they won't watch you. You do NOT need to apologize for playing how you want. Read everything, go everywhere, do what YOU want. It's YOUR game, and YOUR channel. We are here because we enjoy your play style.
So because you’re happy she shouldn’t worry about pleasing other viewers? I mean I get it, but it is in her best interest to attract as many viewers as possible. Not just blow all them off because she has you. How arrogant of you. Lol
@@texasrocks8428 That's a bit of a stretch, I think. I was just saying that she shouldn't worry too much about being 'boring', because this style of gameplay is appealing to a lot of people. You are never going to please everyone and match everyone's style, so you should do what makes you happy. Better to be happy and have a small audience, than feel hollow and have millions of fans.
@Texas Rocks I get what you mean, you're not wrong. But then again, I can't pretend to be someone I'm not. However I COULD edit out some stuff it I noticed most people were not interested in them!! I don't think Corican meant it like that, please don't insult without knowing 😇
The entire Mass Effect community wants you to do everything & read everything in-game, interact with everything & everybody. We want each new player to get the full experience, to understand the world & characters, their context, motivations, etc. So, no apologies.
I just started watching you and I love how careful and meticulous you are being with reading everything and asking all the questions. That is the best way to play Mass Effect in my opinion. Looking forward to watching you go on this journey!
Thank you QuiGon!! I'm sorry to say I'll be apologizing for many episodes because I filmed them before posting these. I might have to edit those apologies out for fear of making you guys go like OMG SHUT UP hahahahhaa
Its good that youre taking your time, this can be very beneficial, especially if you build up your relationships with your squad members. This can lead to unique dialogue/conversations, unique quests for each member, and even content that extends into the other two games! Keep up the good work!
Its nice hearing your thoughts about the world. You are so clearly immersed with the game, so can't wait for the next episodes! Also, if you are reading lore and doing sidequests, I guarantee you anyone who has enjoyed Mass Effect games are the last people to find what you do boring.
Think of renegade and paragon in terms of "Bad Shep vs Good Shep". Renegade = Bad Shep Paragon = Good Shep This is just a generalization of course. Not all renegade choices are "bad" per se. Just choose what typically feels morally right to you.
I see it more as paragon is a diplomagic, gentle approach to solving the problem, and renegade is ruthless and violent approach. It doesn't really shape the ending, only the way you've come to it.
09:24 Who knows? Spectres are some top-secret agents, it's never been clear and I've always wondered too, whe someone presents themselves as a Spectre is there a proper way to check if the number of Spectres and their identity is somewhat secret, is there some Spectre registry database or whatever. As for "member" of the council, that's not the same as Spectre, not really a "member", more like an agent/enforcer. 18:48 In terms of flavor of the lines Shepard will say, in my opinion, paragon is like social-worker Shepard, your typical "aww, let me help you" character, renegade is like ruthless soldier Shepard, tho some renegade option are tryly brutal/evil (still, as a preset in the world character, Shepard can't be full evil). In my opinion, the system is mixed bad, it's fun and add lots of flavor to the character, but also kinda easy solution for a problem, since both "blue" and "red" dialogue options basically "win" conversations/quests, and also completely negates the value of neutral options. 36:35 You are not boring us, tho secondary codex entries about weapons or ship are kinda boring, at least in my opinion. It adds to the lore, but it's not like it's about species, interesting events, etc 54:45 Fun bit of trivia about Asari design is that the devs wanted to created beautiful exclusively female species, experimenting with shapes, etc, and settled on "aquatic" alien look, but the design led to them looking very similar, even with some changes to faces, so they came up with face-tatoos/paint (still don't know what they represent)
I'm not quite sure if you understood what Anderson was saying when he was talking about where to go next for your main mission. Or maybe i missunderstood you. He said that Liara T'Soni, the daughter of Matriarch Benezia is on an uncahrted world somewhere in the Artemis Tau cluster. She is an archeologist and she was excavating in some Prothean ruins. Feros is a different mission, where a small human colony on a world completely covered by Prothean ruins was attacked by the Geth. Noveria is a third mission, a remote planet where some geth sightings were confirmed. My advice would be to go find Liara first, then go to Feros, then Noveria, but in general, it doesn't matter too much. It just makes the most sense to me, story-wise. Also, just like you had sidequests on the Citadel, you will have a lot of sidequests in space, outside of these three planets. I hope you will do them as well, some of the skyboxes and the atmospheres are amazing to witness
Oh yeah I understood they were three different missions! I just thought that he said it might be hard to find her now, so I thought he was leading us towards the other missions first or something like that. Yes I do side quests in space as well!!
Because of the LIARA mission it is worth to replay those three options again because depending on WHEN you save her Liara´s dialog is changing :) Was a nice ploy the developers had put in there NOVERIA on the other side was the toughest on of the three for me.
We don't mind you reading the codex, but if you want you can always read them before starting the video/stream just to be caught up on what you've uncovered.
@@WhimsyPsyche There are only 20, that was your second one 5:55 I'm loving your Playthroughs, I know you are already playing ME2 but I went back to watch your ME1 Playthrough. lol
Don't worry about how much time you spend exploring and talking to people. These are a major part of the game's appeal. You'll find that most ME fans will be more than happy to see your reaction to just about EVERY line of dialogue!
I'm happy you're doing many side quests and you don't need to be sorry for that 🧡. I highly recommend to play the same way in ME2 and ME3, as they have excellent side content. Btw I love how your Shepard looks like ☺❤!
Dont apologies for taking your time and reading lore entries and exploring the world! What makes Mass Effect one of (if not THE) greatest RPGs ever made is the amazing sci fi world BioWare created and how much details and little random side info and background they put into it. Personally I LOVE watching folks new to it explore the world and find out all this stuff as its kinda like playing it for the first time again myself which was a truly amazing experience you can never have again! Enjoy it and dont worry about folks finding it slow/boring (if they do, you dont need those folks watching anyway ;)) (oh and for the record, Andreson was a candidate for the Spectres he never actually got made one, Harken just didnt know all the facts correctly, Shephard IS the first human Specter
Hey look it's the video I reminded you to make public 'whinsy' 🤣🤣🤣 This isn't boring, I know you kept saying it but don't worry about it, I find listening to the codex pages for example very relaxing as I've mentioned in your past vids, but the game does pick up for the viewer once you get to the 3 main quests as there's more on the line and more combat. For me, the game is gonna be it's most exciting (both for viewer and player) when you get to Virmire (not a spoiler cos you mentioned you're already there I believe) and onwards as that's probably the best mission in the game and one of the best in the trilogy (and for me, one of the best in gaming but I do like to hype it). Don't be afraid to mix and match your squad on the citadel in particular as they all have different lines they talk about. And check in with them after every major mission too, won't say anymore for spoilers. Other than that, the first game is again by far the most lore focused game with a lot of relaxed walking around and listening to lore which does pay off in the 2nd half of this game. I'd only caution you to be wary of taking on too many side quests, in every game they can be quite taxing and not very rewarding (there's always a few exceptins to the rule in each game ofc). It's the same thing that most others in the comments will say, play it how you want to play it, as soon as they get boring or too exhausting, skip them and go to the main story. Other than that, nice work disabling the AI, I got blown to bits in my 1st playthrough.💀🤡
This may be a controversial opinion but the ONLY way to properly play/enjoy ME1 is by fully immersing yourself in it. Because, objectively, ME1 is TERRIBLE in terms of gameplay by modern gaming standards. Thankfully most of the clunky game mechanics were discarded or completely redone in the subsequent games of the series. My point being is if you try to 'rush' through ME1 all you really get out of it is a pretty subpar cover shooter. The lore isn't just the glue but the entire support structure that holds up ME1.
This game doesn't tell you this, but David Anderson's history with Saren technically started 18 years before this game, in 2165. There is a Mass Effect novel called "Mass Effect Revelation" written by Drew Karpyshyn (who worked on Mass Effect 1 and 2 as the lead writer) expanding on Anderson and Saren's history.
There's also novels, comics, and an animated film with more backstory than they could fit into the games. The first novel, Mass Effect Revelation, covers Anderson's mission with Saren. Set 20 years before the game, there's no spoilers to worry about. The second novel, Mass Effect Ascension, takes place shortly after ME1 and before ME2, so it's safe to read between games. It focuses on conflict between the Quarian Migrant Fleet, a pro-human group you meet in ME1's side missions, and a human biotic school. The third novel, Retribution, is a direct sequel to Ascension, but may contain spoilers for the ending of ME2. The animated movie, Mass Effect Paragon Lost, takes place during ME2, so is best to watch after finishing ME2. The Mass Effect comic Redemption takes place immediately after the Prologue of ME2, and before the rest of the game. Almost all the remaining comics have spoilers for the ending of ME2, and many serve as prologues and teasers for ME3. Pvt Fredricks in the Embassy bar is designed to be discovered shortly after arriving on the Citadel. Kaiden and Ashley extend the conversation a bit. Mr Bahtia, (waiting for you after you rescue Tali) also knows Ashley, and they have a much longer conversation if she's in the squad. There's a total of 21 keepers in the Citadel. In Legendary Edition, you only need 20. In the original, one would occasionally glitch out and be inaccessible between Council meetings. The keeper next to Avina is automatically scanned as soon as you click on it, regardless of Avina's admonition. No need to fret over not being able to use the Charm and Intimidate options - you simply didn't build your character to use them. Once you leave the Citadel, the minimum points necessary jumps to seven, and a few need max points. Splitting points evenly between Charm and Intimidate also likely means you can't max out either one this playthrough.
Whimsy, did you already figured out the paragon/renegade? you can look for it a little bit if you haven't because is kind of important to the gameplay. Also the things in the stores are very expensive, you can get the max amount of money and still need to get to max again to buy more stuff, good thing is the loot you get is enough to beat the game, but if you want to have enough money to buy the most expensive things in the shops there is a glitch with the shops to get money easy. The glitch is easy, you sell 20 things to dr mitchel and buy them back from the volus in the market, you buy them half the price at what you sold them, and repeat.
I had to cut out after 2 hours for work, does she ever figure out to go to Flux for the last keeper after walking past the stairs 5 times 🤣? all seriousness as a ME veteran i enjoyed seeing the Citadel quests done in the "backwards" order. I had actually never seen what happens if you get Wrex before talking to Barla Von
Awesome seeing you with a new epi! You're super thorough in the gameplay and it's so nice to see. As you've already come to know, the good rule of the thumb - if the top of the screen shows any kind of "interact", "talk" etc. Just go in that direction 😂 Someone or something will have something to say or do😅 The greyed out options are a pain in the neck. It takes a long time to max those out and many quests will give you less than idea outcomes if those options are not available. Sadly the only way to get the options is to do a second playthrough which can be quite time consuming... (In the end, I cheated in my playthroughs lol, using mods to max them out and then playing XD)
17:54 Think of it this way. If someone is nice and respectful to you, return the favor with a Paragon response. If someone is a jerk and disrespectful, hit them with a Renegade response. Bear in mind not all dialogue situations will be cut and dry, some may be subtle. So you may have to base your choice on what you know, or what your gut feeling tells you.
I'm still trying to wrap my head aruond the fact what you done most of the citadel quests and collect ALL of the keepers in your first visit to the Citadel. I mean, its hardcore, alright) I don't know yet how you roll this days, but right now I'm just facinated with your scrupulous style of playing, its quite rare) thank you
Mass Effect does that to me for some reason!! Sometimes in open world games I get overwhelmed and end up not doing any side stuff, but that certainly wasn't the case for the Mass Effect series. Glad you enjoy 😊
Yay! More Mass Effect! 09:00 Whimsy: "Don't you fucking know how I am?!?!" 17:40 Whimsy is more intimidating than charming. Got it. 18:15 I'm glad you got such a huge advance on the videos, because people apparently don't listen. It's funny, because if you don't listen to the game then you are the worst person, but it seems to not apply to them. 25:45 "I don't have time for little people's little problems!" Are you turning into Atreus? Spectres are not gods you know... 51:55 I mean, I'm already soothed... 56:00 Haha, she's like a cat just rubbing herself onto you. 😂 01:15:05 Press X to XP! How exciting! 01:28:50 Shakira, who's underboob don't lie! 01:30:05 Are playing that on Twitch at the moment? 01:41:00 I liked it! And you are very funny! 01:54:25 Just stab her... wait she's a hologram... do you have a holo knife? 01:56:00 I don't lile mission like that. Just walking around and training to find something to click on... Exciting... 02:07:05 Could you not just put a blanket over the station and Alvina wouldn't be able to see anything? 🌝 I'm happy you found another game that you can't put down, always fun to watch you play a game like that. Also, it's so funny how everyone in the comments is trying to give you "tips" and you are finding those thing out by yourself. It's just like the game is good and tells you all the things you need or something. Have a wonderful day, Whimsy!
'"I don't have time for little people's little problems!" Are you turning into Atreus? Spectres are not gods you know...' HAHHAHA PLEASE NO Patric you were soothed by the dress admit it Hahhaha Patric your passive aggressiveness is off the charts today 🤣🤣🤣 Yeah I'm glad I filmed so many episodes in advance, I'm like... proud I found everything on my own to be honest hahahha
@@WhimsyPsyche I was the soothest after that video. 😂 I'm happy you did that as well! I had no doubt that you would find out yourself and it's also way more rewarding that way! It's fun watching you figure it out and also make mistakes if you ever do. Makes a playthrough way more unique. Which you already do by disregarding the Paragon/Renengade bonuses and just go for whatever feels right to you. Really love that and that's totally a you thing! 😂
There's nothing boring about the Mass Effect lore. It's an amazing example of world-building. Take your time and enjoy it! A quick tip from someone who forgets the controls all the time: when you do forget, it's quicker and less stressful to just go into the main menu and check the control mapping. One more tip: you and your squadmates will only be really effective with the class weapon type(s). You as an engineer are trained in pistols and can unlock shotgun training with skill points; assault rifles or sniper rifles will never be very accurate for you. You already scanned the Keeper by Avina.
I'm only halfway through, but great episode so far! If you are worried about codex entries being boring for your viewers (they're not by the way), simply read them in a time-stamped 'chunk' or in the last ten minutes of your playsession. Anyone not interested can simply skip that part (I've seen this idea used in other reactions). However, I'm sure most viewers, like me, are happy for you to read them at any time you want. Minor tip: Although you and your squad *can* use any weapon type, it's generally better to focus on the ones you/they are skilled in, weapon types that have a skill track on the character levelling screen (pistols in your case).
Thank you so much for the feedback! That's organically what I've been doing (codex entries at the beginning and end of the episode) so I'm glad to hear that! It just feels better that way. Oh I see, thanks for the advice too!!
Imagine a regular citizen walking around the Citadel having Commander Shepard ask them for directions, and then immediately have a gun pointed in their face.
I know Im a few episodes behind the curve here so youve probably figured this out by now anyway but the position of your answers dont directly correlate to paragon/renegade etc, Paragon points are just earned by doing 'good' things and generally being nice and helpful, renegade is earned by more violent/unpredictable actions (theyre not specifically 'good/bad' in terms of results its more 'nice/nasty' in how you do things! Blue options is using your charm skill, red options are using your intimidate and if theyre greyed out you dont have high enough skill to use that in that conversation. The maximum level you can put points into either skill depends on your paragon and renegade levels. Alot of folks abrigate that you should focus on one or the other so you can get max level in one of them but I psrssonally just try and use whatever I think I would do (or what my character would do at least and just see where things go!)
Without spoilers, I think it's more entertaining if you just go with your gut regarding Renegade and Paragon. There are so many let's plays that get boring because people always choose the same dialogue options.
Brilliant I have been waiting for this everyday I am so invested in this series. By the way eye make up today completely on point, damn girl you nailed it
18:24 Paragon and Renegade are the Mass Effect equivalent of "Light Side" and "Dark Side" in the Star Wars universe Paragon being Light Side Renegade being Dark Side
Even though back in 2007 the official BIOWARE employees had said exactly that in conferences to the game BUT in truth the MOUALITY METER is much more in the GREY ZONE, like as if it were a real life situation. The teams working on ME had taken the worldwide fan criticism seriously not to do the same " MISTAKE " about the MOIRALITY QUESTION as in the two STAR WARS games from 2003 and 2005. After all not everyone loves STAR WARS.
18:38 Paragon = Kind, Nice, Compassionate, Caring and Helpful. Renegade = Course, Asshole, Mean, Forcing your will on others. Paragons try to persuade and charm people into seeing their point of view. Renegades threaten people with negative consequences to force them to comply. P.S. You're doing fine.
Paragon and Renegade are Law and Chaos respectively, it’s like an experience bar of each. Though I’m pretty sure you already know this by this point but I felt the need to comment it anyway 😅
Paragon is like playing as the role mode or in a lawful manner. Renegade is the complete opposite. Sometimes renegade is more fair than paragon, which is one of the things that make these games interesting!
@@Arkl1te OR : like Captain Kirk ( Paragon = Charmer, Lady´s Man ) and Captain Picard ( Renegade = Formel, Leadership driven ) maybe that picture makes it clearer for you ( to 19:32 )
I know it's too late, but that's not your last one, you scanned that one earlier (the one by the virtual intelligence) by my count your last one is in the starship control place, out the door you never even glanced at.
Remember that you gather Paragon or Renegade Points as you take the upper or lower answers during conversations. Paragon or Renegade options will be also become available when increasing your social skills through character points. Keep on playing and having fun - then we will have fun watching you playing it. ;-)
Side quests are there to be played, don't feel bad about doing them 😉 Also, in defense of humanity in this instance, they weren’t even spacefaring at the time of the rachni wars or the genophage. That was the doing of the Salarians and Turians mostly. In regards to the Krogan.
Just discovered your channel yesterday. Myself, i fo not have much time to play games anymore and i often end up watching let's plays. I am always in if there is a good story in place and i like your style of play. Keep doing what your doing, i find it very entertaining. Greetings from Germany✋👍
No worries. The side quests are great. Not boring at all! Take your time, explore everything and listen when you need to. We're listening too! Glad you're enjoying the lore....one of the best things about the whole saga.🙂
By the way if you havent already you really should read/listen to all the codex entries, the amount of background info they wrote for the game world is superb and really interesting. Even if you do it off camera its worth it (though I personally would be very happy to see you do it on record and hear your thoughts on it Whimsy :))
Have you noticed how good the voice acting in this game is? Not to mention the writing! Creating believable dialogue with so many options and combinations of characters is quite a feat.
Watching you struggle to figure out how to unequip your gun gave me flashbacks to my first time playing. Of course its the one button no one ever uses!
Whimsy, I really appreciate your interesting thoughts and opinions about the lore! I also love this universe and it's so fun to see someone else piece it together. Thanks for this series, I love it!
Not sure if you're already aware, but you're missing quite a lot of story, because you keep running up to people and immediately hit the talk button. Most NPC's have dialog that starts when you get near them and that only triggers once. eg. that guy at 1:49:55 had a whole story about visiting the Consort. Garrus's quip afterwards made no sense because you didn't actually let him tell the story. The same thing happened with the Hanar preacher and the CSEC officier. Also with random people on the Citadel, where you run up to them (which triggers their dialog) and then immediately run away again. Since that dialog only happens once, it's gone now. All 3 ME games are structured like that and you'll miss a lot of context with that play style. That's not supposed to be a criticism, just a heads up.
About the paragon - renegade thing: It's in the whole trilogy. If you are nice to everyone, you are a paragon. If you are mean to everyone, you are a renegade. It will matter more in the second and third games. But it's better to choose one and keep it, the one that has more to do with your style. For exemple, in the first game charm and intimidation do exectly the same thing. You don't need both. It's best to commit to just one because you'll have more free points to spend elsewhere. And you'll need a lot of points in paragon OR renegade to unlock all it's special dialog options (which helps a lot in the game). In the second game there will be moments where you'll only have the best solution if you are fully commited to paragon or to renegade. The game kinda forces you to choose between always nice or always mean if you want to unlock your character's full potencial. Anyway, you can be a paragon and do a bit of renegade stuff or vice versa. It's just a matter of commiting to one.
She shouldn't choose one or the other. She should choose whatever choice she wants to choose. Going full Paragon or Renegade is what repeat playthroughs are for. For a first time playthrough people should just make whatever choices they want to make. Choosing all Paragon or all Renegade actually removes "choice" entirely. At that point they are only choosing an option BECAUSE it's Paragon or Renegade.
Fun little fact, Tali and Garrus can eat the same food, they're Dextro-amino based creatures, while Humans and other races are Levi-Amino based. This doesn't have much bearing in actual science and stuff, but it means that Tali and Garrus are allergic to human food, but can share each other's food.
For the complete story of what happened with Anderson and Saran you should read the novel Mass Effect: Revelation. This and other books and comics will fill in the lore that makes up this universe.
Always thought Anderson is a bit overrated and an overestimated ignorant character in the franchise I never fully liked or trusted him. Felt uncomfortable and ignored discussing topics and future plans with him constantly. He's like a slightly upgraded version of Udina but that's much of an improvement considering how much of a slimeball Udina is. Hackett is a complete badass though, respected and the real face of the Alliance even though I'm not that really a fan of the Alliance. Loved his intel in Mass Effect 1 in between quests sometimes whenever you enter the galaxy map and he briefs you on side missions. Lance Henriksen is an absolute legend such an intelligent and a wise honorable man. Shepard isn't really like Anderson in any way except for the "tough guy" or "tough girl" part and the fact that they have both military backgrounds.
I see where you're coming from, you're not entirely wrong. Hackett seems really cool for sure. But I do like how Anderson had our backs since the very first scene, where he talks about us being the best of what humanity has to offer, and then throughout the game as well (I haven't finished it yet though)!
I have not finished the video yet and I also know you are several videos ahead, but there's another keeper for you to scan. The one next to Avina doesn't count. Also, Conrad Verner (the fan) only returns after you leave the Citadel and come back later. Edit: I see you found the final keeper. Good job.
11:07 Remember this moment with this monument and come back to it in your later comments at the end game. It will be worthwhile HESSAS NAH!, how often did that had happened here to myself ::) You have to press H as in HOLD to put away the weapons at least that is my memory phrase to it 42:06 WEAÜPM EQUIPMENT SLOTS: you are doing alright for your main figure but for your side kicks just orientate yourself on weapon damage and improved aiming To my knowledge they never have ammunition or weapon balance problems. That is handled by the Skill Sheet
55:12 SHE WILL SWALLOW ME ,,, That one is a classic of Mitsoda. The typ of this figure in this form appears in almost all of his games usually to give side quests. I guess the role model had been Marlene Dietrich who had played in most of her movies also a Femme Fatale, compare Wikipedia to more about her. also there are a lot of clips to her on UA-cam
I can only speak for myself, but I'm here for the ride, just play how you want to play...we're here with you. and exploration is 99% of this game. you're doing a good job. hopefully everybody else watching agrees. far too often people race through these games and that's not how they are meant to be experienced.
I'l still answer it ;D Paragon is Knight in a shining armor - and the most of, Knight of Rules and social norms. Renegade says - FU#% the rules, they may burn... The Result is what actually matters. Both can reach to the results, but way to it is radically different ;D (Paragon is kind, and Renegade is FUN 👹) 20:40 Exactly what you said... What it gives and why it matters - you just have to play further and see for yourself :P We wont spoil it for you :3 And yeah - you do you... Forgetting the controls is classic, we all been there and done that ❤🩹 You wont bore us, we're here for it :D (Well, I'm.. hard to say for others, yet I assume so ;)
the way I learned my way around the citadel is by not using fast travel, it's easy to learn if you run around it a few times to see what paths lead where. Just some advice, not saying you should change anything.

Jessica that's so kind, thank you 🥰 I need to remind myself that!
@@corican Obviously agreed
Thank you so much Corican, that's very kind 🥰
@Texas Rocks I get what you mean, you're not wrong. But then again, I can't pretend to be someone I'm not. However I COULD edit out some stuff it I noticed most people were not interested in them!!
I don't think Corican meant it like that, please don't insult without knowing 😇
The entire Mass Effect community wants you to do everything & read everything in-game, interact with everything & everybody. We want each new player to get the full experience, to understand the world & characters, their context, motivations, etc.
So, no apologies.
Thank you so much for the feedback, I appreciate that!
Don't feel bad for taking your time immersing yourself in the lore. It's worth it!
Thank you so much 🥰
110% agreed.
I just started watching you and I love how careful and meticulous you are being with reading everything and asking all the questions. That is the best way to play Mass Effect in my opinion. Looking forward to watching you go on this journey!
Awww thank you so much that's so kind 🥰
57:27 Please never be sorry for doing side quests in this game! It's awesome if you dive deep into the Mass Effect universe!
Thank you QuiGon!! I'm sorry to say I'll be apologizing for many episodes because I filmed them before posting these. I might have to edit those apologies out for fear of making you guys go like OMG SHUT UP hahahahhaa
It was so painful and funny watching her try to scan the keeper she already scanned 😂
omg I was shouting at the screen 😂
Its good that youre taking your time, this can be very beneficial, especially if you build up your relationships with your squad members. This can lead to unique dialogue/conversations, unique quests for each member, and even content that extends into the other two games! Keep up the good work!
doing that is essential in the second game due to a mission that you and I know
Thank you so much!! Feedback like this is so helpful
Its nice hearing your thoughts about the world. You are so clearly immersed with the game, so can't wait for the next episodes! Also, if you are reading lore and doing sidequests, I guarantee you anyone who has enjoyed Mass Effect games are the last people to find what you do boring.
Thank you so much, that's so nice 🥰
I love your playthroughs. Don't mind that you take your time at all. That's how ME is supposed to be played ❤🤙
Thank you so much 😭
It's great you make these episodes so long and give the game some time to unfold! Worldbuilding and characters is what I love most about this series.
Thank you so much for the feedback!
Also... I LOVE ASMR hahaha
Think of renegade and paragon in terms of "Bad Shep vs Good Shep".
Renegade = Bad Shep
Paragon = Good Shep
This is just a generalization of course. Not all renegade choices are "bad" per se. Just choose what typically feels morally right to you.
I see it more as paragon is a diplomagic, gentle approach to solving the problem, and renegade is ruthless and violent approach. It doesn't really shape the ending, only the way you've come to it.
@voidseeker4394 it does shape endings though, not necessarily by being a paragon or renegade, but by the actions you take that give you the score. 😉
Thanks for explaining this, yeah it confused me as well.
Don't worry about it being boring, the lore and side missions is half of the game and half the fun : )
Thank you so much for letting me know 🥰
09:24 Who knows?
It adds to the lore, but it's not like it's about species, interesting events, etc
54:45 Fun bit of trivia about Asari design is that the devs wanted to created beautiful exclusively female species, experimenting with shapes, etc, and settled on "aquatic" alien look, but the design led to them looking very similar, even with some changes to faces, so they came up with face-tatoos/paint (still don't know what they represent)
Oh I love fun facts!! That makes sense.
- Let me speak to C-sec officer.
*IMMEDIATELY DRAWS ASSAULT RIFLE* 😂
I'M SORRY I DIDN'T MEAN 🤣
I love when she says "I am SO sorry!"
Because of the LIARA mission it is worth to replay those three options again because depending on WHEN you save her Liara´s dialog is changing :) Was a nice ploy the developers had put in there
NOVERIA on the other side was the toughest on of the three for me.
We don't mind you reading the codex, but if you want you can always read them before starting the video/stream just to be caught up on what you've uncovered.
Thank you so much for the feedback!
Not me yelling at the screen about what to do!! 😂
I love to see how you are falling in love with the lore! And everything you still need to discover! Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina

You've already scanned the keeper next to the Avina terminal outside the council chambers
No, you can't scan him. There's 21 of them!
@@WhimsyPsyche There are only 20, that was your second one 5:55
I'm loving your Playthroughs, I know you are already playing ME2 but I went back to watch your ME1 Playthrough. lol
Don't worry about how much time you spend exploring and talking to people. These are a major part of the game's appeal. You'll find that most ME fans will be more than happy to see your reaction to just about EVERY line of dialogue!
That's so true! I had no idea while filming this, but judging by the comment section, you're entirely right and I'm so glad!
agreed, folks not interested in the conversations or the storyline iitself are wrong at playing RPGs there are enough ACTION-SHOOTERS out there.
I'm happy you're doing many side quests and you don't need to be sorry for that 🧡. I highly recommend to play the same way in ME2 and ME3, as they have excellent side content. Btw I love how your Shepard looks like ☺❤!
If the side quests are as fun as this one's, then FOR SURE I'll be doing them!! Thank you so much 🥰
Thanks, I am really enjoying this series and look forward to them it's a good 2 and a 1/2 hour special.
Season 1 episode 2 was my favourite so far
EMMA thank you so much for the super thanks!!! You're too kind 😇
The keepers quest can be very confusing, even for someone who's played it many times!
It's so annoying when you have THAT ONE LEFT omg 🤣
Hi this is my favourite video game trilogy ever and it's so nice to see people discovering it for the first time
It's the best trilogy I've ever played in my life so I'm right there with you now!!
LOL... Yeah, you have a "grenade launcher". Your "grenade launcher" is your arm. 😂😂
Those pucks you keep thowing are grenades! 😄😄
It's so funny honestly 🤣
Hey look it's the video I reminded you to make public 'whinsy' 🤣🤣🤣
This isn't boring, I know you kept saying it but don't worry about it, I find listening to the codex pages for example very relaxing as I've mentioned in your past vids, but the game does pick up for the viewer once you get to the 3 main quests as there's more on the line and more combat.
ROBERT OMG I'M SO SORRY 😫😫😂
Thank you for being ENRIGHT. TWICE. hahhaha
Thank you for the feedback as well, I appreciate that a lot.
It isn't controversial
This game doesn't tell you this, but David Anderson's history with Saren technically started 18 years before this game, in 2165. There is a Mass Effect novel called "Mass Effect Revelation" written by Drew Karpyshyn (who worked on Mass Effect 1 and 2 as the lead writer) expanding on Anderson and Saren's history.
It does.. it just doesn't give us a timeline
I was clarifying the timeline
Oooh I didn't know there were novels comics and animated films!! That's so cool!
Thank you for sharing!
Oh a money cheese!! Interesting hahaha!
Hehhehe hope you keep watching after work to find out 👀
Thank you so much! While playing I had no idea you could do everything so differently!
Awesome seeing you with a new epi! You're super thorough in the gameplay and it's so nice to see. As you've already come to know, the good rule of the thumb - if the top of the screen shows any kind of "interact", "talk" etc. Just go in that direction 😂 Someone or something will have something to say or do😅
The greyed out options are a pain in the neck. It takes a long time to max those out and many quests will give you less than idea outcomes if those options are not available. Sadly the only way to get the options is to do a second playthrough which can be quite time consuming... (In the end, I cheated in my playthroughs lol, using mods to max them out and then playing XD)
Thank you so much for the kind words and advice!!
That makes sense!
You know, they could now use AI (Or in ME terminology, VI) to synthetically make all codex entries spoken.
True!

Still, the Landing Missions start to drag after a while. Many of them come over to similar
@@rogerlynch5279 It's true that there are sub-par missions, but the depth of the lore is remarkable.
What button are people constantly pressing to bring out their guns? Is it an interaction button in another game?
It's the touch pad! In other games it's always the map or the menu, that's why :)
Whimsy ,remember WE, the ones who stay are as invested in the game/ lore / charekters as you are or will be .... keep playing the way you want
Thank you so much, I'll try to remember that!!
Never apologize for taking your time. Thats the best way to enjoy this masterpiece of a triligy imo.

Oooh I hope you had an awesome weekend! And it's never too late 🥰
@@WhimsyPsyche I was at a Supernatural Convention in Germany, it was amazing, thank you 🥰
I know Im a few episodes behind the curve here so youve probably figured this out by now anyway but the position of your answers dont directly correlate to paragon/renegade etc, Paragon points are just earned by doing 'good' things and generally being nice and helpful, renegade is earned by more violent/unpredictable actions (theyre not specifically 'good/bad' in terms of results its more 'nice/nasty' in how you do things!
Avina is so much like ChatGPT...
That's so true!
Without spoilers, I think it's more entertaining if you just go with your gut regarding Renegade and Paragon. There are so many let's plays that get boring because people always choose the same dialogue options.
I really like you reading the codex. I have this playing while I work so I want slow periods anyway. Just my two cents.
Brilliant I have been waiting for this everyday I am so invested in this series.

Paragon and Renegade are the Mass Effect equivalent of "Light Side" and "Dark Side" in the Star Wars universe
Paragon being Light Side
Renegade being Dark Side

Side quests are there to be played, don't feel bad about doing them 😉
Also, in defense of humanity in this instance, they weren’t even spacefaring at the time of the rachni wars or the genophage. That was the doing of the Salarians and Turians mostly. In regards to the Krogan.

For the "Scan The Keepers" side mission, you'll get text dialogue that reads "Scan Keeper" on any keeper that you haven't scanned

Wait why? My vision is 20/20 🤣
Not sure if you're already aware, but you're missing quite a lot of story, because you keep running up to people and immediately hit the talk button.
That was a criticism lol
@@brunokingz I suppose so. I didn't know how to let her know without it sounding like criticism, hence the "disclaimer".

About the paragon - renegade thing:
It's in the whole trilogy.
@@Joker_JAK I agree with you. We always should play games to have fun the way we want.
I'm just giving a tip for maximum efficiency. It's not a rule.
Thank you so much for both your opinions!! I'll take that into account for sure
Good job.
Hehe thank you!!
Awesome videos
Thanks Joe~

11:07 Remember this moment with this monument and come back to it in your later comments at the end game. It will be worthwhile
HESSAS NAH!, how often did that had happened here to myself ::) You have to press H as in HOLD to put away the weapons at least that is my memory phrase to it
42:06 WEAÜPM EQUIPMENT SLOTS: you are doing alright for your main figure but for your side kicks just orientate yourself on weapon damage and improved aiming To my knowledge they never have ammunition or weapon balance problems.
Pro tip... Every time you choose a middle option... You give up a chance to possibly get paragon or renegade points
I don't mind 😇 I prefer playing with conversation choices that feel right to me!
charm max! 😀
YASSS
set Maco controls to old or else you will go crazy 💞{translator) sorry if there are mistakes
I can only speak for myself, but I'm here for the ride, just play how you want to play...we're here with you. and exploration is 99% of this game. you're doing a good job. hopefully everybody else watching agrees. far too often people race through these games and that's not how they are meant to be experienced.
Thank you again for such a nice comment 🥰 Happy you're enjoying!
I'l still answer it ;D
Paragon is Knight in a shining armor - and the most of, Knight of Rules and social norms.
Renegade says - FU#% the rules, they may burn... The Result is what actually matters.
Both can reach to the results, but way to it is radically different ;D
(Paragon is kind, and Renegade is FUN 👹)
20:40 Exactly what you said...
What it gives and why it matters - you just have to play further and see for yourself :P
We wont spoil it for you :3
And yeah - you do you... Forgetting the controls is classic, we all been there and done that ❤🩹
You wont bore us, we're here for it :D (Well, I'm.. hard to say for others, yet I assume so ;)
the way I learned my way around the citadel is by not using fast travel, it's easy to learn if you run around it a few times to see what paths lead where. Just some advice, not saying you should change anything.
