Greetings, Foolish Mortals, and thank you for stopping on this chapter of the spellbook! Christopher Walken is an easy favourite. #FunFact : Walken is the first voice I ever learned! To check out the next lesson on Owen Wilson, click here: ua-cam.com/video/ihEj5mTlk3s/v-deo.html Let me know here in the comments how you're liking these and who we should learn next!!
I discovered "Walken Magic" just two three days ago. Haven't watched much of his main characters, but when I stumbled upon a short clip of his recently I was stunned and fascinated by the POWER of that personality and that voice. The above video is a very comprehensive one on getting that voice. I am sure I will watch it many times. Thank you Bro. Truly Appreciated. Well Done!
@Reagan Warner You only made it 11 seconds in!? My watch time will be murdered... LOLLLLLLLL 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for watching every video, brother, and I'm beyond stoked that you like them and they make you laugh. That means I'm doing my job. :) Who should I do next?
Ditto. I've tried for yeeeears to develop a good Walken impression and it still eludes me. I'd have given up by now but I want SO badly to be able to break into Walken at will, it's become a must
Haaaaaha. Yeah, there would be a bunch of Walkens just Walken around. For all of us outsiders, he is an endlessly fascinating voice study. It’s so good.
When I found this video I thought you had over 100k subscribers, but then I saw that you only had 181 subscribers, so I subscribed. You're very underrated. Keep up the great work!
@Tinkos WELL! With beautiful messages and amazing support like that I'm sure we'll hit that 100,000 in no time! Thanks so much for stopping to watch, and welcome to the Tower!! Feel free to poke around and let me know what you like! I'm making more all the time 😀🔥🤘🧙♂️🤘🔥
He does do an awful lot of dancing in some of his films, and he was in that Fatboy Slim video. I’ve always known him to bounce around as Puss In Boots when I was a kid, and when I add 2+2, it makes sense that his speaking is rhythmic, as if to some choreo…!
I started doing Walken about 10 years ago, naturally did some of the things you say, but how you outlined everything makes me really think about doing walken much better with the nuances you mention, doing it more like a well thought out and practiced craft, thx!
@Michael Levin Thanks so much for that! Sorry for the late reply; My computer died quite a while ago, and I’ve only just now been able to replace it. I love that you’re in the “thinking critically about voice and nuances” mode, as that’s where I live. How have you come along with the voice now that you’ve had some time to stew and play?
Heya! Thanks for watching, and thank you for such kind words! I'd LOVE to start working on cartoon voices, and plan to after just a couple more. Cartman is a solid choice... 🔥🤘🧙♂️🤘🔥
@Mini Middy Ha!! As very well you SHOULD! Happy you liked it, and this only reinforces that the hours I spend putting those little jokes in pay off. 🤣🧙♂️🤣
@@kezzathehappygamer Well, we’re in for a rock block of voice montages coming up, and hopefully getting a song or two out, but then back to some more lessons! XD
Walken seems to be a silent movie star, old voice radio star, rolled up in one for modern cinema. His body, facial movements, carries him; that voice alone, that would creep out Stephen King. Always thought he is a throw back, one of the last, from that vibe of older class movie actors. He also seems like a solid stage actor at heart in movies. Look no further than Biloxi Blues. Really a diverse actor and full of himself. Take a look at Puss in Boots.
@Mark Raciborski I agree with you! Ha. And the funny thing is, I’m SURE he’s done something with Stephen King before! Yeah, he is a signature superstar, and somehow all of those oddities make him so versatile. You’d think it would be the opposite. Yes, but not quite as a stage actor; he used to be a dancer! Actually, he still dances in a bunch of stuff he’s in…! And yes, Biloxi Blues: Brilliant, and I can’t believe someone else knows the old Cannon video Puss In Boots… O_O
@DecafCoffee7 Thanks for popping back! I get excited every time I see your comment. Like I wair for them now. 🤣🤣 As far Jim Carrey goes, it would probably be EASIER to do a How To Ace Ventura video, but for celebrities, as you know, I usually try to show a more every day, conversational voice instead of the over exaggerated. Having said that, Jim Carrey IS one that I should work on whipping up... I'll start the "Character Aquisition" process today... 🤣🔥🤘🧙♂️🤘🔥
Walken's light shifting on the balls of his feet likely stems from his *extensive* background in dancing for musical theater before he got into films. I think it's just second nature.
@Kalákala Tú I think you're probably right on the money there. He still had the moves last I checked. Fatboy Slim videos and SNL he's always trying to dance whenever he gets the chance!
Sorry I’m so late getting to this. Right? There are some things that are just so signature now that pretty much anyone tapped into modern western culture would recognise it. Amazing how that happens. Must be unnerving personally to have that kind of recognition from so many complete strangers who assign meaning to everything you do.
@Paul Anderson Ha!!! Well, I can’t account for the latch phrase, but it would be awfully funny to hear Walken reciting Livin’ On A Prayer! Man, Walken reciting anything is pure gold…

@fernando ospina THANK you! And yes, I probably could! I do an alright Vinnie… I WILL have to wait until I build my new rig, as my old one has gone EOL, but as soon as it does, Price is now on the list!! And thanks for watching! 😊
I’ve watched him in a ton of movies, but it’s always a few of his lines as Max Shreck in Batman or Caesar the Exterminator in Mouse Hunt that I end up resorting to use to get his voice.
Hey, whatever works. It’s the repetition that gets us there in the end, but having a good ear and a good sample upfront can shorten the effort and the time a bit. But nothing really beats just fleshing out the voice over time and multiple situations to get all of the nuances. :)
Can you make a video on how to do an impression of John Travolta? It's especially interesting since people who overexaggerate Walken's voice almost end up doing Travolta by accident, so a proper breakdown would be great.
There's no impression I want to master more than Walken, and it still eludes me, it's insanely frustrating. Sean Connery, Jack Nicholson, Morgan Freeman, I've got em nailed, and I'd trade all 3 to have a great Walken

I ended up on this video cause I was searching that, years ago I heard him explain it, he's from an area with a lot of immagrants maybe polish? Immagrants. I honestly can't remember. But his accent is a mix of where he grew up and also being around those accents all the time.
@@love-ip7sz That’s about how we all get our accents. I’ve found that, at least in the current age, where you were born has less bearing on it, but where you go to school has a lot to do with how you sound.
