A Walk Around West Bay, Dorset

- A Walk Around the harbour and seafront at West Bay in Dorset. The beaches are surrounded by beautiful cliffs, which we explore. We visited a few days after a large landslide, which made local news. West Bays East Beach was the setting for the hit ITV drama Broadchurch. As West Bay is at the far end of Chesil Beach, we begin the video some 18 miles away near Portland to explore the Southern end of this long beach. .

I was there last week on holiday, bought back happy memories of my teenage years , loved it

Filmed during the winter as most boats are out of the water.
Also filmed there were The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin beach scene, Harbour Lights, and the film version of the radio series The Navy Lark. Others such as the Goodyear G800 Tyre Advertisement with Jackie Stewart.

Thank you so much for watching. I believe there has been another landslide since the cliff face was filmed. I have also walked where they film Doc Martin. (Port Isaac) if that is shown over there. The beach at the beginning looks like a film set or something :) very atmospheric there with the colours of the sky :) I loved walking with you around the harbour :) Esplanade looks very dramatic with all those cliffs at east cliff wow! Always time for cake xx
Thank you for watching. Yes, although the beach was the setting for Broadchurch, I'm wondering now if anything else has been filmed there, a great filming location. Always time for coffee and cake, I don't always feature it, but it happens on most of my walks, and I never seem to walk off the calories. Thank you again for watching 👍👍
Hi Andy, West Bay is so beautiful and good to know that it was on the east beach here that Broadchurch was filmed, haven't seen that in years ! Loved the station at Westbay with the two old railway carriages and the River Brit looked nice and so did West Pier. Great photos of the four of you eating scones :)I fancy them now ! The harbour was lovely and it was sad to see the cliff erosion, I hope no one was hurt. Thanks again for another lovely tour with great footage and your lovely family :) ~ Anna 👍
Thank you Anna, yes The Cliffs and beach were used in Broadchurch as well as some other local places we did not have time to visit. The station was a nice surprise as we parked the car. The scones were lovely. The cliff erosion only happened a couple of days before we arrived, apparently due to a lot of heavy rain before. Scary to think they can go at any time. Luckily, no one was hurt. Even though it happened around 11am. I think the weather was not the best on the day. Thank you again for watching and commenting. All the best to you and Alf,
