Thank you so much for creating this bundle. It's so difficult to choose the perfect advent project. I love the Cosy Coastline shawl. The detail on the side is beautiful, and I think it's the one. 🤗
Thank you for all the time you take to find different patterns to use advent yarns or just all those extras that we have around. I would never have thought about the Beth McDonald Stone pattern - but this may be ‘the one’ this year ❤
I love Advent/scrappy project ideas! What a fun video to get inspired by! Thank you for putting this video with pictures of the patterns you are talking about 😊 I am one of those are adversely affected by Ravelry’s website (migraines) but my sister accesses my account for me whenever I am unable to find a pattern elsewhere and does the purchasing and printing but it is nice to see such fun patterns up on a video so I can see some projects and be tempted 😉 The Gemstones shawl and the Starlight Starbright blanket have really caught my attention 🤩 I’m a sucker for blankets, especially Advent/scrappy ones! And I enjoy short rows for bringing design elements into a project.
Thank you for the collection of knits using fingering weight yarn. I am preparing to go to Bible Study and we are doing Ephesians 3 and 4 today. Take care ❤😊
I want to thank you so much for all the time and effort you put in to compiling these videos, and then putting them in a bundle on Ravelry. It must take a lot of work, and I really appreciate it. I have a couple of advent calendars from previous years to use up, so I was really interested to see what had caught your eye! My particular favourites were the Little Gemstones shawl and the Star Light, Star Bright blanket. I'll be queueing those for sure. Thank you again x
I really like the Star Light, Star Bright blanket! I’ve never seen anything quite like it and it would be a great way to feature all the beautiful yarn in an Advent.
Great Episode!! I love the Loops Blanket. I’m sure it would be easy to adjust the size and make it a bit longer. Lots of great choices here!! Thank you.
Such a lovely collection of knits. My favourite advent knit has been the Go Go Throw by Ambah O’Brien. I want to make it again but this time I will add an extra 20 stitches to make it a bit wider. I use this as a blanket and it’s lovely and light but warm.
What absolutely beautiful patterns you picked out. That little gems shawl looks just like stained glass. I love it! Thank you again for another great video, always enjoy your videos:)
Thank you, so much, Amber for this lovely episode. I am going to cast on the Sawtooth Socks. They look so pretty, and I love that she has included directions for a higher instep. I have the perfect yarn to give them a Christmasy look, too.
Thanks Amber for this round up, I love how you go through Ravelry to find us inspiring projects from designers who might not be quite as mainstream! I would looove the Little Gems shawl/scarf, I happen to be a gemologist too so it just seems too perfect ❤
Love the ,,,everything November mitts,,,,🎉🎉 Would be a great project for advent or leftovers to knit for gifts,,,🎉 I have knit the scrappy quilt socks ,,,,love that pattern,,,so squishy and fun,,, 🤩 Thanks amber,,, You do the best podcasts, ELAINE 🏡💕
Hi Amber! I so look forward to your episodes, especially the ones like these that highlight a specific item or yarn. I really like the look of the Starlight, Starbright blanket as it is very different from other blankets that I have made in the past. Thank you for the hard work and time that you put into each episode !
I really like the Everything November Mitts. I have never made fingerless or any other type of mitts before, these would be perfect to get me started! 😊
Hi Amber. Thank you so much for putting together scrappy projects using advent yarn. I like the Little Leftovers Cowl. Excited to see what pattern you will be knitting.
I loved the little gemstones shawl. I hadn’t seen that pattern before and it’s just beautiful! Thanks for pulling all of these patterns together-I put 3 on my list!
Thank you so much for all the effort of looking up all these beauties! Haven't been around for that long as a subscriber but we have been knitting together on many a video 😊. Looove the Kay Jones socks, here patterns are great to knit up! Take care, Danielle
There are so many pretty projects to make! I love the Radvent Cardigan. Definitely adding that one to the queue. Thank you for putting this list together.
Hi Amber itś such a joy to Watch your podcast 🥰 thank you so much for amazing inspiration to this years advent projects and thank you for sharing your passion for handcraft with us ❤️ your doing an amazing job every time 🤩👍👏 i love the Star blanket ⭐️❤️
It's so hard to choose which of these patterns to knit! They all look so fun! I think though, since I'm a shawl kind of person, I would start off with Little Leftovers. It's so elegant! Happy Holidays ❤
Thank you for sharing so many wonderful scrappy project ideas. 💡 😊 blessings for Thanksgiving. Love the everything mitts and the ripple blanket patterns! Best. ☺️
Thank you for another excellent episode. Tackling my scraps is going to be my new year project. The little gems project or the brioche adventure really caught my eye.
I love the look of the Luminaria shawl! Not a big fan of lace but I think it would be great with a different finished edge too! Thanks for a great round-up 👏
So many to choose from but I think The Luminaria Shawl would be my first choice, closely followed by The Little Gemstones shawl. Thanks for collating this brilliant collection xx
Thank you Amber wonderful projects! I bought my first advent this year and Beth Macdonaldstone designed the shawl for it. I am so excited! Looking forward to your Christmas vlogs 🎄🎅
I love the Scrappy Quilt socks. They look so soft and squishy. I'm currently knitting the Habitation Throw with advent yarn from last year and I'm ready to start the Fair Isle Mitten MKALendar hosted by Susanna Winter. I appreciate the thoughtfulness in your special bundle videos.
I really enjoyed this video. I have so many shawls that I've started making pullovers with mine. One was the Sea Glass Tee, which was a true labor of love! This year I'm doing the Sea Glass Cardigan. Fingers Crossed!
I just purchased the Cosy Coastline Shawl. I Think it will be the perfect Advent project. Can't wait for Dec. 1 and all the vlogmas. Love your podcast. You are one of my favorites.
I’ve never knit brioche before so maybe I’ll like to try the brioche adventure... but I also fall in love with the all together now cowl! Thanks for your work 🙏
Such a great list of inspiration! The Little Gemstones shawl really caught my eye. So beautiful, both in terms of colors and construction. Would love to knit this one!
I’ve made the Little Leftovers Cowl! It would be the absolute PERFECT advent project. Not too much of a commitment! And it turned out great. Our whole knit group made them last year. It was so fun. I would LOVE ti make the Luminaria Shawl! Someone in my knit group has made it so I’ve seen it. It is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!
I love how you do these videos... Ravelry is a little overwhelming and I like that you give me things to look for!!! I immediately grabbed a pen to write down the name of the Little Leftovers Cowl, I love that one!!! I'm knitting my first shawl at the moment and want to start a cowl... we shall see!!!
Thanks for sharing these colourful patterns. Some of the shawls were particularly beautiful. I don't participate in the "yarny advent calendar' events but I *do* have a lot of scrap fingering-weight yarns. I've got a mitred square blanket that's a perpetual WIP, and I've made *lots* of baby/toddler socks for the grandchildren of friends, but one of my favourite scrappy fingering weight projects is the "LOSY Hat" (Left Over Sock Yarn) -- a free pattern in an easy k3, p1 rib that uses 2 strands held together. For my first one I used 2 strands in 2 shades of blue, so it came out rather like a marled blue. For the one I'm making now, I'm using 2 strands of assorted self striping/variegated yarn and this is more fun! Another option is the Mash It Up hat, which calls for several solid colours, knit in plain stockinette in the round. The pattern has them running together in a melding of yarns between solid bands of colour. I find both to be fast knits on 4 mm needles (US 6) or 4.5 mm needles (US 7) and it's fun to see how the colours play together. Both are free patterns on Ravelry. LOSY: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/losy-hat and Mash It Up: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/mash-it-up Enjoy! 🙂
Thanks Amber for this great episode! I love the idea of using "scrap" yarns to make an advent inspired project. One that I particularly like and have had in my favourites for a few years is The Bounce Blanket by Tin Can Knits. I know it's not in the bundle you shared today but I really like it. Happy Knitting to you! 😊
I think the only Advent project I'm planning are some self-striping Advent Socks but thank you for sharing so many great patterns. I really love the Everything November Mitts as well as both All Together Now patterns.
Wow. So many choices! This is my first December as a knitter and my first advent yarn. I’m excited to work with it. I think that star blanket is the one that appeals to me. I still have socks to knit for Christmas gifts. So my adventure knitting may be a new year thing.
I really like an advent blanket with a neutral yarn to alternate in stripes. Thank you for all your research videos! I love them❣️
Thank you so much for creating this bundle. It's so difficult to choose the perfect advent project. I love the Cosy Coastline shawl. The detail on the side is beautiful, and I think it's the one. 🤗
