Thank you for the info! What if my wife is on a contract that concludes at the end of the year, and does not currently know what her work status will be at the start of 2025 (could be anything from employed, contract, to unemployed)? Would it make sense for us to jump on the DIEC plan while we plan for a family this year? Could she still receive DI and PFL benefits then even if she is no longer contracted at the time?

Im self employed and wasn’t aware of this program. Do you know if it’s possible to backdate the enrollment to a period that satisfies the requisites, pay the premiums in a lumpsum, and then file a claim? Just had a baby- PFL would be nice.
