- testing out a new to me vintage sewing machine
( I promise to do some hand quilting videos soon but my elbow and shoulder problems prevent it now...I have not been able to hand quilt for months)
Hi, I have a vintage Pinnock. I've never tried free motion quilting before and so far I can't work out if I've even connected the foot right. Thanks for saying you believe any machine can do it, I shall keep potching at it bit by bit until I get there 😊
Thank you for sharing your experience with trifocals. I thought that I was immune from any of this 'mature eyesight' horror, until a few years ago and now it is a nightmare -- glasses on/off to see things, magnifying glasses galore, house glasses and outside glasses -- I think that I will have to go for trifocals and see if that helps.
Hi, it's so fun to see what your creating and on what machine :). The light on the surface of that black leather coupled with your stitching is gorgeous. My favorite so far. I am free motion quilting on a small quilt . Since I am still in the needing practice phase, flowers , leaves and big swirls. Playing :)
Playing is the most fun! happy quilting
Well, just purchased a Singer 66-16 or 18, not sure which. It's in a sweet parlor cabinet. Electric with knee control. I must admit I love it. It stitches beautifully and I like the knee lift since I seem to have better control of the speed.
that is a great machine....and I agree about knee controls
Thank you man! You rock! I learn a lot from you and hope your well
thank you!
Tim, love your videos, however this black or very dark fabric isn't showing up very well. I love watching you quilt!!
Never dreamed I see a video of you using an electric machine. However, it begs the question; do you have a preference?
LOL....I really never thought I would either. I still prefer a treadle machine.....but that I think is just because I think they are so fun......but the electric does a great job for me too....just a little adjustments needed to control the speed .....My foot keeps looking for the treadle pedal :)
Where do you get a darning foot for your vintage White? I have a 60’s model. Also is your needle seated to the left?
Beth, you can get a darning foot for vintage White machines online. Singer low shank feet will fit on the old Whites.
wow very well thank you
thank you
Hi Tim,
Where did you buy the free motion foot? is that come with the machine?Very nice job, beautiful quilting.
I have about a dozen different styles that I have bought over the last year .....mostly from ebay......this one is a Singer darning foot. www.amazon.com/Singer-Embroidery-Darning-Foot-006016008-P/dp/B00083QRDS
Thanks a lot Tim. I will check it out .I have singer featherweight and 201-2 so it might work with these machines.
yes...it should work on them as well
