Dude this is everything. I had the orbital first and 5 passes wasn’t doing it. Soft pine lol. Got the edger and noticed how much it helped. Edges are done, and heading to Home Depot and going drum now to get it done! Thank you !!😅
I'm so happy I watched this video before going to rent the OBS18 sander. I rented both the drum sander and edge sander after doing extensive research online and there were many orbitals that were left, specifically along the edges from uneven panels. I'm gonna go around and palm sand those edges with numerous passes before I get the OBS18 sander. Thank you!

Yeah unfortunately Home Depot’s reps are almost always no help because that is the exact sander their guy recommended. A complete waste of $150 dollars 😡. Their rental section is highway robbery for the everyday DIYer.
That is exactly why I am on youtube looking around before I rent. You are right you would think they'd be knowledgeable about the floor sanders but everytime I ask the guy tells me he is unsure.

What type of floor sander and sand paper do you recommend for wood parquet flooring?
Try starting with a higher grit if possible on the drum sander. For oak parquet with urethane finish I start with 60 grit, only lower to 36 or 40 if its too difficult to remove the existing finish. Progress to 80 on drum, edger to 100 grit. Then after orbital sand entire floor to 80 grit.
