I put these on my gt242. They work great and look cool too! $15.00 each to mount them at the tire shop down the street was worth it for me. New valve stems to boot.
good call on taking it the tire shop to get them mounted. This the best advise on You tube I seen. just curious how much they charge for mounting the tires which well worth my time trying to use irons myself to install.
Ok. Just picked up a 2019 X570 with 24x12x12 turfs. I thought if you replaced them with the same size HDAPs everything fits the same. They measure the outer diameter/height/width. So, while you gain clearance with smaller tires, you don't lose clearance matching the size... Right?
I had replace tires on four ATVs and about six lawn mowers and I always do it myself been doing it since I was 19 years old I've never work at a tire shop or any auto shop. I just know that it can be done and I do it. The ATVs were mine but the tractors I fix them and sell them. I'm just saying if you don't try you won't do it and the more you do it the more experience you get.
You're comparing sizes between two tires with one being inflated and one not inflated off the rim. So not apples to apples. It would have awesome to have compared the new tire mounted to the older tire (before it was swapped). I was contemplating getting a HF tire changer, now I'm going to Fleet Farm and having them do it. Please follow up with your thoughts on the tires now that you have used them. Do they tear up the grass much?
Less than halfway thru the video I had the same thought of " he isn't going to measure an inflated tire to an uninflated tire is he ? " Well, he did and I'm left wondering what the real difference would be. I'm also disappointed that there wasn't a follow up video. Another question is what the load ratings are between the two ? I have a small FEL on the front of mine and several hundred lbs of weight in the back. Can the new tires handle the load ? I like the tires but a lot of unanswered question left here.. It's been 4 months since you and others asked questions and there's been no response.. Shame, a lot of potential info here but no answers..
I just ordered some for my x324 size 20x10-10.. I’m hoping they’re not going to interfere with the 4-wheel steering but I’ll give it a shot. I removed my old tires using a harbor freight manual changer and it worked pretty easy.. I’m planning on mounting them myself.. should be interesting 😂
@@randomrebuilds I think it depends on the irons.. I use 3 motion pro curved irons to mount my heavy duty dual sport motorcycle tires and they work great .. part #08-0007 16”.. they’re really strong and way better than other irons I’ve tried..
Those tires are exactly what I'd like to replace on my JD S170, but unfortunately, the tire size is 22x9.5x12. These seem to be a JD proprietary size that there is literally not a single aftermarket tire replacement for them. Neither JD or any dealer will address what tire size could be used to replace these terrible turf tires. Any advice other than get rid of the tractor? Thanks!
One thing I've learned, is it's not worth my time to try to mount garden tractor tires at home. Hours of work vs $15-20, that's a no brainer to me. Lol
Your rear tire size is: 22x9.5x12. The equivalent Carlisle tire size would be: 23x10.5x12 So they would be about 1" taller and wider than your stock rear tires.
Your honesty is extremely valuable. Was going to try this myself. You saved me much aggravation. Thank you!

I have a gx345 and it works like it was made today surprisingly!!
He is certainly doing the change the hard way
Sawzall work well for getting old tires off

Harbor Freight would have done you well. Great little tire changer

This spring I'll do a follow up video on my thoughts. Stay tuned...

If you have a tire changer - that's a whole different ballgame. Tire irons are useless unless you're dealing with a bicycle tire haha.

I have a john deere L120 rear are 22x9.50-12 Will these atv tires will work for my tractor 🚜 😀 😅
If you have a trailer hitch, use a bottle jack on the lip of the rim, against the hitch.
Those are bad ass!!
I put the Kenda Terra Trac tires on the rear of my Husqvarna and it no longer gets stuck! I don't want turf saver, I want turf grabber.
How much do tire shops typically charge to do it for you? I have the same size rim and tire I'm looking to have done.
Believe it was $40 to mount and seat the new tires. No balancing was required.
I imagine a tire shop would have charged a small fee for this and had you going in minutes.
Looks like you gain some clearance at the mower deck??.......like the shirt....
7:53 did he seat the bead just holding like that? Is that okay w small tires?
The tire guy had them connected to the tire inflator - about the only way to "seat" tire beads.
Can I put these on a John Deere L120??

A GX345 isn't a 'Lawn Tractor', it's a 'Garden Tractor'.
Did these rise the deck if so how much was the rise?
I didn't have to raise/lower deck after the new tire installation
They probably only need 17 pounds of air pressure
Only a John Deere guy would be concerned with the looks. HOW DID THEY... WORK? 🤦
Traction is perfect - no more slipping on slopes. 10/10 rating! Rear tires does not tear up the grass either.
OF COURSE YOUR MOWER BLADE WILL BE ONE INCH HIGHER IN THE BACK...U CAN ADJUST THIS
IT AINT EASY
How to take tires to a tire shop to get someone else to swap.
