I usually don't write comments but now I must say you both are great! I've seen many vlogs of Pakistan from Mark Wiens, Food Ranger, Chopstick Travel but you are the only ones who show more than only food. You are so open minded, friendly and respectful. You go to mosques, museums, Shopping Malls and play Cricket with pakistani kids or try different food like pan. Every time I see your new vlog, I'm just smiling all the time 😊
Thanks for showing my country in that way!! I hope you enjoy your journey in Pakistan.

These two are humblest human beings I know. It was clear Steve and Ivana didn't like Zarda at all(even I don't) but they didn't outrightly reject and even tried it for 2 to 3 times, completely unwillingly, to make it humble. Also Ivana immediately started complimenting the environment and privacy of the hall. You guys are extremely special. World needs to learn kindness from u guys! 5 stars ⭐

Zarda= ghee/oil+ cardamom+ sugar syrup+ food colourings+ jelly(sweet pumpkin concentrate) + any floral food essence of choice(sometimes candied orange is also used instead of essence).
Ga-chak= cane sugar caramel+ any kind of dry nuts(it's like unbroken praline)
Meetha Paan(sweet paan) is used to assist digestion, and as a mouth freshner. And there's a herb in it called malathi, it's used to heal sore throat.
There's also tobacco paan, tobacco paan is mostly eaten by men only. Tobacco paan causes tongue and throat cancer(as do cigarette) so it's not eaten alot.
Anda shami burger/anday wala burger= omelette+ shami kabab(shami kabab is made with boiled mixture of lentils and meat of choice along with spices. Meat at home is usually used mutton or beef but professionally it's chicken because it's more economic.) + bun+ sauces of choice+ salad of choice.

    Anda means Egg
Shami mean shami kabab....it is the burger patty and made of lentil +potato + spices. This is a variation original shami kabab for less cost and long shelf life in summer.
The authentic shami kabab is generally made of beef mince +lentil +spices and fried in oil.
The name of this dish in olden days was called "Bun Kabab".
U didn't cover "Savour Pullao" food center in Pindi. Please visit there and know its history. If possible, visits its kitchen as well.

Shami Kabab is made with meat and lentils. I believe at home ratio is 50/50 but street vendors use more lentils than the meat. I guess to keep the cost low. It’s a very old Pakistani street food and I believe it started to have Pakistan own take on a burger. That’s why Ivana liked it more as it’s lentils. Love watching you guys having fun.

Phirni and kheer which is like phirni and what phirni is actually based on is also a sweet rice dish. So sweet rice can definitely be good...the zarda used to be a favorite of mine but is definitely an aquired taste. I don't like it as much but kheer is awesome
