you need to try the pink tea, called "Sheeri Chai" it's an Afghani, Peshawar common chai. Sheeri means sweet, and this tea is made from green tea leaves. the other chai is black tea. The real one is not made baking soda, it's a special way of making it, that the pink colour comes out. I f you go I can fwd you my family's info. have the real thing as well as may be get a tour with my cousin who's passion is finding forgotten history of the region.
The pink one became common in the 80s in other parts with all the migrants from afghan war moving up to Karachi. PPl just started calling it Kashmiri instead of sheeri because don't understand! Kashmiri ppl also think of this a joke as they haven't had this back in Kashmir!
The real kashmiri tea is salty .Drink it with kulcha. That would be real Kashmiri tea. I loved my grandma's tea...she was an expert at making Kashmiri tea.I am Kashmiri..❤️

@@JetLagWarriors Pink Tea is pink because it's made for green tea and it's boiled for a long time until it gives off this red colour. It's served in various forms. Sometimes i can be served as a sweet tea with cardamon and decorated with a bit of pistachio, others serve it slightly salty.

Kashmiri chai isn't some special leaves. It's green tea leaves that are overcooked with baking soda, which brings out a pink colour (idk why lol). But yeah it's just green tea leaves, and it is suppose to taste different, its more fragrant and flowery.
I was wondering cause I was told all tea leaves are from the same tree. Whether it is black tea, green tea etc comes from the same tea leaves. Thanks for clarifying the process. 👍
What nobody mentioned that the cooking process. This tea is not brewed like other tea. While tea is brewed, the cook or maker constantly lifts a ladle full an release it back into the pot. It’s done many times and this is how it gets it’s pink color.

Pink tea is made with green tea leaves made with a specific procedure, by mixing milk it turns pink. Originally there's no sugar in it, instead a pinch of salt is used.

Must go at banjosa lake and toli peer at rawalakot and also you can enjoy at lasdanna district Bagh and many more beautiful places in kashmir.. Pink Tea actually is from Kashmiri traditional tea, so instead of sugar we pour salt in it. Love from Kashmir
a balance of sweet and savory,,,,, really cant tell if it is wholly sweet or saltish,,,, that is when it is brewed properly ,,,usually hours long process
