TO BE CLEAR: the issues and frustration I am having with some of my mods really come down to getting the wrong offset for the rims. That is what caused many of my issues and why I am installing spacers. Thanks for watching, let's talk about it!
So did you end up keeping the rims or getting more offset rims? I’m getting nators for my xmr also and I think I’m going to run my stock rims, 2019 xmr 1000 outty. I’m hoping to clear with some trimming on rear. Any input? Thanks bud, love the videos!
@@maxcasey6262 I ended up keep this setup all last season. This season i switched to a 0mm offset rim and 8.5 wide motohavocs. If you do 0mm or stock rims with 8 inch wide tires you'll be fine. Height is another issue.
Man I’m having a similar issue...I have a 2020 renegade xmr 570. I put on 14/7 inch 5+2 offset/system 3 wheels & 29.5/8/14 Assassinators all around. Well..now my front ended up a bit wider than the rear. Well, I thought I measured right and ordered one inch spacers for the rear...yeah that didn’t work haha, to wide. So I picked my brain, and used a measuring tape and measured straight from the center H frame “protected by the skids” because it’s the same width from front to rear; from the H frame through the wheel “to the outside of the wheel”, and I have exactly A measly 1/4 inch more of width in the front than I do the rear... What the hell do I do??? Haha Should I really worry about that??
Did you have to put longer studs on, for the 2 inch spacers, because i went to go put mine on yesterday and i can only get the bolt on about 3 or 4 turns, not very tight so i was wondering how far are your bolts on in the spacer?
Had to put 2 inch spacers on the front n 1.5. On the back for my outlander max xt. Has a 2 inch lift. Hate them lol waiting for my footwells that claim to clear 34s without a lift. So we shall see. I'm running 32-8-14 assassinators.
We put spacers on my wife's arctic cat mudpro. She loves how stable it made the 4 wheeler, but the problem is that she is now closer to the sxs wheel base.she is 54" width. The sxs ruts are deeper due to the bigger tires and lifts. So with her stock clearance of 14" isn't enough and she will get stuck when everyone doesn't. It was way better when she was at stock width of 50". So now if we go mudding we take them off, rock climbing we put them on. Real pain, but I do it for her. 😆
I’m running 2” Bronco ATV spacers on my 2017 1000 XT-P with the factory beadlock wheels. They made the machine much more stable and it’s only 1/2” wider then my brothers exact same machine with aftermarket wheels.
I run spacers on my bike, and I haven't had any issues with my bearings or worries that my tire's going to come flying off. I've been using them for the past year and a half so far so good *knock on wood* I didn't even need to run spacers but I wanted a wider stance to help with getting through the deep rutted mud holes. Let's hope these work for you till you get a larger back spaced rim cheers!
@@MainvilleATV You are correct I have the snorkels running inside the fender well with the 30's. I wasn't rubbing before the spacers. But I also have aftermarket rims as well with enough back spacing so they don't rub anywhere.
I went straight to the 2" spacers on my 2019 Outlander 1000 xmr with the stock incripted 30s" and they rub the can-am oem aluminum foot skids so I took them off. I can't decide weather to cut them back or get a 4" portal lift. Even if I got a set off offset wheels I think it would just rub worse. Me personally I love the look and feel with the 2"spacers and the rubbing on the floor skids is the only problem I've had so far.
I used them in the past and the work great but i'd try to use them to keep new rims to the same overall with as stock unless you want wider. There are a lot of pros and con but you have to decide what you are going for.
So with the extra 2" a side, is your total width going to be an issue? 50" trail gates, existing trail ruts or trying to snake between trees. Bike is looking great and big!!! Cheers 🇨🇦
Oh no. Not at all. Its 52 Inches now, still well in the ball park. All gates in my county and Ontario for the most part are much wider especially due to side by sides now. Thanks buddy! Much more to come!
Dustin S bearing? Do wheel spacers cause excessive wheel bearing wear? I am looking in to buying some wheel spacers and need help understanding the downsides to them.

@@MainvilleATV that's what it's all about buddy i have seen the spacers make the holes on the rim bigger and made them oval would that be from not retorque them after riding
Hey. Just a question for you. Do the 1 inch spacers think enough to cover the studs completely without having to trim the wheel studs on the hub itself ??
I'm curious why spacers are designed the way they are, what with all the extra holes and lugs to attach spacer to hub, then wheel to spacer. Why not just have spacers with simple straight through holes, and use a set of appropriately longer lugs, so that the lug goes all the way through wheel spacer and hub. This would simplify their manufacture, and could somewhat solve the torqueing difficulties too.
You need to learn the difference between hub centric and stud centric. In this case the tapered area of the spacer and nut center the product to the hub.
I have 2018 outlander 1000 max xt-p, at first i went with 2" spacer in the front and 1,5" in the rear with stock beadlock to get wider stance but didnt really like how it made the suspension feel very saggy. So I bought a set of 8,5" wide XMR rims with 10" wide 30s cryptids. Getting little rub on floorboard and that inner front plastic when turning. I thinking about getting a set of spring spacers from rubberdowncustoms to get a little lift and hopefully clear those issues. Any thoughts on springspacers if they worth a shot?
Iv had spacers on my renegade when I had it I was like you I didn’t like the aluminum showing so I primed them with a spray B.I.N and then used a flat black high heat they held up really well I did my nuts the same after 2 yers they still were very few chips gone.
There is no difference in terms of using spacers vs aftermarket offset rims..... unless one of the options brings the wheel out further than the other option. Going outwards 2” per wheel/tire is the exact same stress wether it’s on an offset rim or by using a spacer.
Agreed in that sense. Although you run the risk of improperly balance cheap materials, poor workmanship, possible torque issues on twice the studs etc. Theres more issues with them when you could just get the rim. Thanks for watching!
Mainville ATV and Outdoors true.... all spacers are not created equal and the correct offset wheels will always be optimal however, a quality machined spacer is also good and does not add additional stress to the wheel bearings..... unless they are pushing the wheels out further than the wheels. The spacers I bought also came with metric 12.9 grade lugs.... better than an imperial grade 8 (sold with the Highlifter spacers). Still a good option for guys that don’t want to spend extra on rims or are happy with their factory wheels, as I am.
I guess if you need them, on an ATV it's not as bad as a car or truck. In the long run, the offset weight can cause extra wear on ball joints and wheel bearings, but I'm sure something else will break before those! LOL ;) As along as you're not runnin motocross track races, you'll be just fine even with the 2" spacers! LOL Awesome vid, bud!
So I have a question... I have a 2018 Outlander 650 XMR fully stock, but I feel that the atv always seems to want to flip over in every little turn I make, are spacers recommended to increase the center of gravity of my atv or what can I do... any suggestions?
I'll be getting some msa 14" wheels with the same tires you have what back spacing you think i should get when i order them. Thanks you for your videos
So hub centric Is one form of hub centering however those are just like automotive that is called lug centric everything you stated about the Lugnuts making more surface contact was actually incorrect the actual reason is because the Lugnuts actually center the hub on the lug studs

I'd be careful using chineese wheel studs. You dont know what kind of metal combinations they used, likely whatever was cheapest.
