  • Considered one of the most forgotten band of the 90's today we checkout the weird and wonderful world of Life Sex & Death and their song Tank. Life Sex & Death aka LSD only released one album and today we have a listen to the song "Tank" from LSD. Are you a fan of the band? Get in those comments!
Life Sex and Death (or LSD, if you're late for a train) might just be the greatest forgotten rock and roll band of the 90s. No joke. Besides a few b-sides, this album was all they ever released before imploding from the career-wrecking hijinks of their singer, Stanley (just Stanley).

This whole album SMOKED. In 92 I remember thinking LSD and Love/Hate were going to be the future direction of metal, but that was right when grunge became huge for a couple of years before it flamed out followed by Korn's 1994 debut and nu metal that followed. At least that's how I remember things.

Yea, Love/Hate too seemed like the future.

Came here for the L.S.D. review. Instant subscriber based on your reaction. Saw LSD open for Lynch Mob in Wilmington NC. Had no idea what to expect since we were there for George Lynch. Stanley was in the bathroom stinking it up. We thought there was a disgusting homeless person that snuck into club. Next thing we know, he was on the stage playing a mandolin. When the rest of the band came in heavy, we were blown away. Bought the album the next day.

Great band! Saw them open for Poison in 92 and went and bought the album the next day. Still listen to it to this day. Great all the way through.

I went to that same concert just for lsd and they apparently got kicked off the tour right before they got to my city.

I had tickets for the same tour. It would have been my third time seeing them, I was not happy when they weren't there.

    Amazing Band
The singer of Slipnot (Corey Taylor) performs their song “Farm Song” live in London and other cities .
That’s is why this song gets so many hits .
They are also in Manson-Wiki .
Look them up for more bizarre history .
I wish I had seen them live in those years .
This band should have been headlining arenas if they wanted . Just too out there and artsy for the time .

Jawohl is german and means Yes. Vocalist Stanley aka Christopher Stann used to be a glam rocker before he did the Homeless thing in LSD

I saw these guys at a Phoenix dive bar, and it rocked ! There were probably only 50 people there (if that many). I wished I had to see them again but never saw another date.... definitely one of my favorite debut albums of all time.

i love stanley. those guys rocked hard. stanley was a lounge singer in chicago before this. i met them when they came to l.a. they sat in at a blues jam. freaked everybody out. i was sold.

Saw this band at The Thirsty Whale in River Grove Illinois. The whole place stunk. When Stanley came out he looked like he was rolling in a dumpster. It was awesome. When he did "Rise Above" on a keyboard setup at the front bar, he paused and spit a mouthful of booze on the crowd. I was directly in front of him when he did this. My thought was, hey at least the alcohol killed the germs. haha Great band. Great gimmick. Great music most importantly.

As a member of a couple prominent Chicago bands as well as their spinoffs (including one mentioned in comments)from the early 90s/2000s and friends with the members of LSD all i can say is YOU ARE ALL WRONG ABOUT STANLEY or Chris (his birth name). He never claimed to be homeless. He was whatever you thought he was and his lyrics were real. The man was a genius and so were the other guys in the band. Alex Kane is still out there making music too. So many big names came out of Chicago from that era. Nikki Foxx, Smash Alley, O'dette, Mindbomb, Lungbrush, Gravelbone, Loudmouth, Hellshock, Fallout Boy, Plain White Ts, Disturbed, From Zero, Soil, Pivot Man, Radakka, Tyrants Reign, Veruca Salt, No One, and many more.

This was big in my heyday ( 90s) They chose my town for some odd reason to hype the band up. They had another album with different line up. Watch some live footage Shane, Stanley the singer is hilarious.

I saw them open for Lynch Mob in Charlotte NC maybe in 92/93. Never heard of them before the show. when standing in line before the gig, we saw "stanley" going through the dumpster in the back and truly looked like a homeless guy. didn't think nothing of it until we saw him come out on stage. a friend who didn't attend the show bought the cassette after we told him about the show. of course we all made copies.

I have heard rumour he was actually a wealthy dude or his family was and that when he became the "homeless guy" in LSD he lived the part? dunno... crazy weird I love it

They recorded some of the album in my town Tulsa, Ok & The Cain’s Ballroom. They played some free shows there to hype the band. They were great! The Stanley mystique was strong . He was MiA before shows with him getting local prostitutes or drugs. Haha. Great stage presence

Oddly, much like Love Hate, this was another band, Bill, proprietor of our local record store turned me on too. Bill just had a way of knowing who the really cool bands were. Very worth the $3.50 for the used CD!
I tried so hard to spread the word about these guys amongst my friends. Not a lot of success, sadly, but everyone agreed, "Tank" and "Some Fuckin' Shithead", are great party songs! It's a shame they never got the success they deserved.

First let's talk about The Throbs and the tragic ending flameout of a band they were. Set to conquer the world a mire six months from the release of their debut album they were dropped by their record label and just couldn't get rolling again after that. It's to bad their one and only album is fantastic.
Now let's talk about LSD (shorted) I have very vague memories of this band. Can't say I really remember them all that much. Not terrible but also nothing earth shattering for me. The drummer is a beast tho.
