    Have a video of your exhaust manifold set up and the brackets to support the turbo?

    First came across your 1200 pound tow video after searching for 460 turbo. Then saw the tow. Then went to your channel. Had to look around to see this video of the engine. Love it. I have a 1979 f250 4x4 400m camper special sitting up on the hill. Was my dads. He drove it like 700k miles. Totaled it 4 times. Kept rebuilding it. I drove it and parked it where it sits. What a tough truck. I’m gonna get her going. Wanna do a diesel maybe….. I remember back as a kid…the paint wouldn’t stick to his truck. Had lots of galvanized panels or areas on it. When compared to Chevy(at the time)…. It seemed the fords were just better for “work and towing”. I also have lots of 70s Ford parts trucks. Used to be embarrassed of the junk yard thing as a kid (my dad had 25 acres or old vehicles and such). Now I am obsessed with it and don’t care what others think. Following your channel. By the way….what is the gas mileage on the inline 6? Oh, and have you ever seen the Ford Barra inline 6 from Australia? USA has been missing out!!

      Thanks for watching! I’m currently only getting around 9-10mpg. I’m about to purchase a zf5 overdrive transmission so that should help a lot. I love the Barra engine, always wanted to build one.

    Crower makes dual valve springs, scorpinon ratio rockers1.73 thats what i have in mine my motor is an 81 block 95 efi head I blocked off the egr with 1/4in ntp plugs and im running a super sniper like yours mines black though I have an a/r .96 turbo with a billet compressor wheel stock bottom end besides a vh oil pump and all arp bolts head studs main studs and rod volts im waiting to get it tuned but I know the stock motor will hold 30lbs of boost without lifting the head or blowing a piston or rod

    I'm using the longer, larger 2.3L pinto valves on my 94 head as well as proper roller rockers, summit sells one set that runs the proper angle for the 300 six.

    very very nice work. remember to heat your tailpipe hanger into a J around the bottom of the pipe and zap it once or twice. the six rattles tailpipes like crazy, will break welds

    Have you pulled it all apart yet? Why not pressurize the chamber through the spark plug hole and use an overhead valve spring compressor? It’ll save you from having to pull everything off the head just to change springs

      Already got it running again! Did exactly like you said. Cut an old spark plug in half, gutted it, and welded an air chuck on it. I need to make a video but been super busy getting crops in the ground

      @@WastedPaycheckGarage same here. Just got finished wheat and corn. Waiting on the frost to stop coming in so we can put the canola in. Just got looking at mine again tonight. Tore the engine I thought I was gonna build down and found cracked pistons lol. Guess I’m building the 240 block with a 300 crank 🤷🏻‍♂️

      Good stuff. You’re ahead of us, we’re just getting started on planting here in Michigan. We’re mostly a fruit operation with a little grain as insurance in case of a harsh winter. We’ve lost a lot of grapes to frost this year and not sure on apples and peaches yet

    You could look into ford tractor parts some of ford tractor parts work in the trucks and I would love to se your turbo set up

      Funny you should mention that, we farm fruit and grain in southwest Michigan and we have 5 Ford tractors ranging from 35 to 130 horse. There are quite a few similarities between this truck and our 9700. Unfortunately none have a 300, otherwise I’d have a great place for this turbo setup if this engine bites the dust

    How do you like the Holley Sniper? I have an '80 F150 I want to do the same combination as yours on.

    • @WastedPaycheckGarage
      @WastedPaycheckGarage  3 роки тому +1

      I love the sniper so far, it only gets better with more miles. It’s nice being able to rule out fuel tuning when diagnosing/troubleshooting. Never really have to worry about AFR, it’s usually pretty spot on
