They only do good cold starts if they can control timing. If you're using a stock distributor the efi can only do so much by adding some air with the idle air control valve
Little lean on the cold start. Needs some tuning for that cold weather. Maybe some better plugs too. -2 here my stock L6 fired right up. Only thing that killed my six's were other vehicles. Got 3 and they still run.
Man, I miss mine, what a loyal old beast. '88 would come to life whenever I needed it to in Bemidji, mN or farther north. Couldn't plug it in on campus: stand on the clutch until it was on the floor, crank 'til it catches. Always started.
please dont hate for asking this little question, first off, i am glad you were able to "restart" the truck, second, i "noticed' there are "two" mufflers pointing to the right, is that normal and is there is two on the left side as well? last, i always, thought they always point straight out in the back? you understand the last part?
I have a short from last year on my channel -4f cold start when i was leaving for work in the morning. 89 stock efi 300. Funny how they all sound close cold start cranking. Cant miss that starter sound.
Tuf ol motors, we've overheated em bad before and they keep on goin without a puff of smoke..cold starts are rough on anything tho so I avoid startin my babies in the cold cold unless it's absolutely necessary lol cool stuff tho brother
Hey man, been really wanting to do this to my 300, how hard was it to get everything routed and all the other complications that happened like the exhaust, intercooler, etc. just let me know.
Love it! Let's see some more of that reg cab dually 6.0!
Nice looking truck even with all the snow on it . Helo from N Dak . 😊
1st time watching, that was a great. Well done. You dont impose your will on the old Iron...
Just a little bit of snow????
Do one from inside the cab
I expected my 390 FE to fire up pretty easy too but it's hooked up to a charger now... Kind of surprised the aftermarket TBI EFIs don't do much better

@@Lad-zn6fntrue statement.
Is that a 6.0 diesel not at a mechanics shop?? I didn’t know those existed lol
Awesome man!!!
That 300 needs new glow plugs!

My 300 fired right up last night at -20⁰F
😂 mine too no problem 🎉
Are y’all’s fuel injected too? Mines fuel injected and hasn’t had a problem around 10 degrees yet

What kind of mileage do you get out of that? I’m thinking about doing a turbo 300 on my 2wd f100 that I want to use for roadtrips
Starts like a diesel 😂

The first one is from the electric exhaust cutout, and the second one is the normal tailpipe. There are none on the left side

I think with a fresh battery it could have started on its own
Why 2 exhaust pipes?
Where are you from? I have to start my 78 300 yesterday to tow my car
Why 2 exhaust
Need to throw those tall skinny tires back on it
Agreed. I wish I could find some reasonably priced 9.00-16’s
That truck is quadruple dog cursed to not want to start at all
Which size diameter is the dump exhaust?
What State Are you in? It was -18 here in Iowa….😮
Right! It hit -26 in ND yesterday. It's only -14 today but we've got 35 mph winds! I'm hiding in my heated garage all day haha
@@realtundratrash -1 right now. But negative double digits tonight again
Ha! 43 here tonight in NC.....well probably never see snow this season... as almost always lol
Michigan
Snowing right now in central pa. 16 degrees. Actually isn't too bad now that the wind died down. Had a gust of 43mph and sustained winds of 35-38.
Need to fix your EFI reading 20F+ higher temperature than normal-that's why you were running so lean & having trouble keeping it running.
Add propane injection
It'll help all 6 cyls fire up
Air filter didn’t help
Sounds like molde A LOL
Starved for air! Look at the air filter.😮
Sounds like a damn hog!! ❤❤❤
