Hi! Thanks for posting this. Currently mildly considering the 310 - how would you rate the quality of shot it produces? Which machines do you think it compares favourably with, in terms of taste and texture of shot? Meanwhile, a tip in case you want to make another video like this: 1) Close the aperture down. Find the best compromise between image quality and high iso/closed aperture 2) Allow autofocus to find the machine and focus on it. 3) Switch to manual focus. By closing down the aperture you'll have a wider range of depths which are in focus. Right now you have it wide open which gives a lovely depth of field but it's less important for a demonstration like this. Then switching to manual focus will stop if from focusing on the nearest object. More of your demo will be in focus :)
Hey, thanks for the comments. I have sold the 310 already, mainly because of the espresso quality, which I would unfortunately have to rate it a maximum of 5-6 out of 10. It is not capable of producing cafe quality espressos. In terms of espresso quality only, it is comparable with something like the Breville Barista Express or Bambino. Lower line WPM series will also give you the same espresso quality, so you are mainly getting a separate thermoblock for the steam, and an another thermoblock for thermal stability for the extra money. If you are an espresso drinker, get a boiler machine with OPV, or even flow control function. I would recommend something like the Breville Dual Boiler, which gives you way better espresso quality and not being too expensive.
@@pianocc534 Thank you for such a detailed, definitive and extremely helpful reply! I'll cross that one off the list!! I'm actually not an espresso drinker, I make something between a latte and a cap. But when the wife and I drink coffee from a shop, we can tell the difference from one place to another, which largely comes down to shot quality. We sourced the coffee used in one of our favourite places and the coffees I make at home are very nice (with the Dedica, can you believe it!) but not quite as nice as from the coffee shop. So I'm interested in upping my game with a new machine at some point. Was considering the Mara X but it might be too involved for our lifestyle. So still shopping around!
@@al201103 Great! Glad it helped. The Dedica should have pretty close espresso quality compared with the WPM310, so definitely look somewhere else if you are planning for an upgrade in shot quality. Mara X is a good option too, for its value for money. Im using Lelit machine also (Lelit Bianca), pretty happy with the shot quality and flow control function, but of course, it is pretty expensive. Breville dual boiler has really good value for the money imo, the shot quality and steaming is very nice (I have used this machine many times). The price is comparable with the Mara X also. If these machines are still too big of a commitment and you want something cheaper but with better shot quality, then I guess you will have to look for single boiler machines like the Gaggia Classic Pro or Rancilio Silvia. Steaming experience however, would be compromised.
@@pianocc534 Thanks so much! I'm in Shanghai, so the BDB is a LOT more than the Mara X - really inflated price here. Feel like I'm back to the Mara, which is actually ok by me. Can't tell you how much I appreciate the guidance!
How do you pull a shot that lasts 25-30s? A friend gave me this machine and I could only pull 15s on 18g coffee for 40g coffee. Do i grind finer still?
So cool! I'm willing to get one of this. Not really the WPM. I'm looking for the Saeco SE50. Looks like the same machine but I can find the Saeco here in Brazil without the need to import it from elsewhere.
@@pianocc534 Thanks for the review. I was actually looking at the grinder, but also saw the 310 on the website and considered buying it. I am looking for entry level equipment. You helped me decide to avoid the 310 and just stick with buying the grinder. Thanks
Retention performance is satisfactory. Its usually below 0.3g. Having said that, there should be some retention of the fresh coffee grind in the grinder, as some old coffee grind in the grinder is replaced and pushed out.

Wow, just came from your other Gaggia Colour video. Amazing to see you got some new equipment! Keep killing it man! :)
Thanks man, check out my other videos also if you have the time :)
Can you share a clip on how to assemble this grinding gear? I have the same as you

Hey thanks for the sub ;) I have googled the machine your talking about, really quite similar with mine.
How is the steam pressure?, how long does it take to heat up milk to 65celcius? thank you
Is this the model with mobile apps ?
Hows the grinder performance?
Quite good in the entry level category. Depends on what you looking for.

When you put an object (ex.milk box) near to the camera then your espresso macine become blurr
Lucky your not selling coffee, or you would be out of business 😂 😂 way to long to make a coffee!!!!
Sometimes good things need time 😅
