Season 2! Confetti Cake - Perfect for kids, perfect for adults! What is your favorite dessert from childhood?
this is kinda sad but pop tarts lol
I used to love eating the raw cake mix powder as a treat. Does that count?
when my grandma would make cook n serve chocolate pudding, she would always scorch the milk, so the pudding had this kind of nasty aftertaste to it. But honestly, some whipped cream would balance it out and I came to actually like the taste after a while :-)
Classic pound cake with simple syrup glaze. Gotta poke holes in the cake so the glaze soaks in.

I always knew you were a real one Frederic 😭❤️Hopefully you'll grace us with another video soon to cure our boredom and depression✨ Imagine a Claire and Frederic collab 🤩😍

Claire: *traumatized*
Omg ikr this is soooo nostalgic
It's her favorite part.
Claire reading ingredients will never not be iconic
Feels like the old gourmet makes days
I teared up a little.
I enjoyed the LegallyDistinctFromGourmetMakes vibes
Now for my favorite part...
and they will never not be toxic as fooook, time to make your own organic version :P i think i would die if she actually did that for an episode

Why does hearing Claire say “shit” feel like hearing your favorite teacher curse for the first time?
Makes me feel SOOO normal ! LOL
She said it at about 4:09 for anyone who missed this.
Edit: and 12:30
Hahaha, so funny! 😂 My favorite was in the episode with her food stylist + friend (the meringue cookies one) she actually says the f word! Twice if I remember correctly! It's bleeped out, but I was still dead 💀😂🤘🏻
vinny: would you say this is a... gourmet version?
claire: **war flashbacks**
PTGMD is real!
Is that our Vinny? As in, Vinny Bobinny Vincenzo? That Vincent is working with Babish (+Sohla) AND Claire too now?

I love how Claire struggling to find space in her fridge is the newest recurring segment of her show.
The editor could perfectly well edit it out. But they don't. Because deep down we love it and they know it very much.
Damn you are so likeable. Your authenticity is top notch. No fake smiles or fake peppiness... Just boom here I am let's bake some good shit.
She's enlightened because she knows life is all about baked goods and she would like to preach the word, if you're interested.
Life is like a box of cake mix.

My son baked this cake as a present for his Sisters birthday today…he is a huge fan, watches your you tube videos and just got your “Dessert Person” cookbook with this recipe. Pretty and delicious!
He’s wanting to do the Croquembouche for Christmas! (He’s 17)
You have inspired him so much! Thank you!
I love Claire showing that you can make great meals in a tiny kitchen. I live in Toronto and my kitchen is exactly as pokey as hers, and showing what she can produce out of such limited counter space is really inspiring.
Thinking this is a small kitchen is such a North American thing💀
Vinny: "Would you say this is a...GOURMET version?"
Claire: "N-No" **gourmet makes war flashbacks** "nervous sigh"
This comment took the words out of my mouth! So true! Keep it up Claire, loving the new content.

Yes I did the same
she looks so relaxed making her own videos... I love it.

she was so stressed out in every gourmet makes episode couldn’t be good for anyone

"Everything just needs time to chill" is the mantra for 2021. Thanks Claire 😊
Claire just chucking things into the veggie drawer to make space for the cake is incredibly relatable.
never thought i’d hear Claire read the ingredients like that again woah
Claire at the end, promoting her UA-cam channel is the most precious thing I've seen in my life. Don't worry Claire, you'll get the hang of it in no time lmao
Clair: “Okay, I’m done.”
Narrator: “But she was NOT done.”
@Regdu Geht That is not a thing. Everyone licks them. What really matters is whether you wash your tools immediately after doing so, or if you have tools to spare [i.e. you licked a spatula and just bring out another one].
My 6 year-old daughter LOVES Claire. When my grandma died this week, she came over to me when I was under 1000 blankets crying, and asked to watch this with me. Problems gone ? No, but I do feel less weighed down. ❤️

Right. Only psychos like huge amounts of frosting on their cakes and cupcakes

Hearing Claire say “soy lecithin” is something I didn’t know I so drastically missed
I missed her saying “dextrose”
As soon as I read this comment she said it. There is no way that is a coincidence.
its parenthesis for me, bring back so much memories
i’m so jealous of whoever got to eat that cake
Just wanted to say I made this and it was incredible!!!! It was honestly the best cake I have ever had, and knowing I made it myself felt so cool. I did use a simple buttercream recipe for the frosting instead (I don’t love creamcheese frosting) but the actual cake was so moist and lovely. Highly recommend!
How many eggs did you use?
LOL, Claire neglecting to pre-heat the oven and preparing her pans is her “do as I say not as I do” moment of this episode.
Claire’s kitchen looks so warm and inviting I feel like I know what it smells like ... if that makes sense
Nah her kitchen looks cluttered and overcrowded, it's her PRESENCE that makes it so warm and inviting
@@PoundTheAlrm It does look like a smallish kitchen, something I sympathise with.
I can smell the butter and sugar 😋
Looks like a NY apt kitchen, a window with minimal sunlight.
Please somebody buy her a small fan so she's not complaining about the hot room when oven is on, 😭
Also, the fact that she had to reference her own cookbook and find a place to put things in the fridge was HELLA relatable
The animation at the beginning is so cute 🥺
This made me realize I don’t miss gourmet makes at all. I just like seeing Claire do her own thing in her own kitchen
SAME!!! i feel way less second-hand stress
The best part of of gourmet makes was Claire taking pride in finally making something delicious. I would love a video over a few weeks where we watch her develop a recipe so we can see the creative problem solving process.
Claire carries hard. She has a strong back.
I miss her interactions with Brad
@@kelzbelz313 this!! This is what I miss most, seeing her creative wheels turn to solve problems and use unique ways to get her desired results 😊
I love how Claire is so real when cooking in front of the camera. Talking about what to do when the frosting is too hot, making room in the fridge, how to fix a slightly overbaked cake...so relatable. Glad you are making these video!
She literally has the best intro. It’s so cute and calming ❤️
I made this tonight, minus the frosting since I'll do that the day of the party and I'm so pleasantly surprised and proud of myself! Halving the recipe got complicated, but it baked beautifully! Two 9" cake pans baked in 25 minutes. At 15 minutes I switched their spots bc my oven has a hot corner, and 10 more minutes had them perfect and pretty even on top. I've never made a cake from scratch before, let alone this method (plus making cake flour and buttermilk), and I'm thrilled! Thank you!
Claire before: struggling with dehydrator every episode
Claire now: struggling with her own fridge every episode
As long as there's no chocolate tempering involved everything will be just fine.
When she started reading the ingredients I almost cried
Claire is just an absolute genius. Her vocabulary is insane. I'm learning so much just watching her videos.
This made my soul so happy! I’m so excited she’s not making “natural sprinkles” cause now I feel like with this series, I can ACTUALLY bake this and not have to order a dehydrator for $200! 🙌🏽
"There is only the darkness"
Too real, Claire.
100% was looking for this comment!!!! It is everything!
I can't even describe how hard this made me laugh hahahahahah
I love how she actually explains why she's doing stuff- I feel like I'm learning, not just following a recipe
that's part of what makes her cookbook really good - the recipes are a bit more wordy but you really understand WHY you're doing the thing. She also has a lot of great picture-rich tutorials on how to do basic tasks, like beating egg whites and creaming butter.
