I can't think of a CT song or performance I DON'T LOVE!! What a VOICE!!! The way Robin uses his voice is like a instrumentalist that plays so beautifully.
Jon Brant on bass. This is good video. I actually met Cheap Trick in 1996 at a small club. They were very personable and autographed a photo. This cost a heck of alot money to meet and greets these days. I consider myself fortunate.
I was working for the top radio station in L.A. and was backstage with the program director. Robin said Tommy...Thanks so much for adding I Can't Take It. He said Don't thank me (and pointed to me and said) He's responsible! Robin gave me the tightest hug!
I get goosebumps watching this in 2022. I seen them only 3 times. 81 in Lubbock Texas, 83 at Six Flags over Texas for 5 bucks , at Irvine Meadows amphitheater in 85/ 86 open for Night Ranger . I ever get enough of them live
It was there best album but far from most commercially successful album. I saw them in '84 and wore out this cassette tape and bought another one. Robin very underrated Rythem player.
Thanks for posting this. Cheap Trick are one of my favorite bands. Up there with Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, and Iron Maiden. Not just because I am from Illinois.
Fantastic music, still sounds great. Live rock n roll baby yeah. How good does that Sure SM57 sound on the vocals, awesome. Doesn't pickup the background noise.
Rick Nielsen auditioning for Cheap Trick... Hi I'm Rick. I'm here to audition for the guitar player. Robin- can you sing back ups as well??? These guys sing so well together, thank you Cheap Trick!
Great live version. Should have been a (bigger) hit. Better than the "One on One" or "All Shook Up" songs in my opinion. My second-favorite CT song after "Way of the World."
Yep. When they lost a massive lawsuit with their label over royalties, where they were actually in the right, but labels can get an army of attorneys and we know how that goes. Part of the deal after they lost, so as not to pay out millions of dollar's, the band signed a horrible contract. They received little to no promotion, songs that they didn't like or weren't finished, were put on albums. They even spelled Rick Neilsen's name wrong on the back of one album, Rick Nelson. This band went from being on the cusp of playing stadiums in 1980 to playing county fairs in 86...that's how bad they lost that lawsuit. They were purposely being crushed and humiliated and put into debt with albums that weren't selling, because there was no promotion and they had next to no creative control. The music industry is a very bad business.
This band has so many songs better than the only two songs you here on the radio. I want you to want & Dream police. There good songs but the radio burned them out. Thanks agin UA-cam
Great video quality don't go by the "480p" listed. As you can see the Evil Manager probably had them fly from their last gig winding up at 1 AM to do this show at 9 AM in Montreal, Canada.
Who is singing back-up vocals on this one ? Rick is pretending to, but his placement near the mic and mouth movements don't always match the audio. Good song nonetheless. Band sounds great, Robin especially.

Jeez!
Robin nails the vocals and holds down a solid rhythm guitar.
This guys a fantastic front man. 👍
One of my all time favorite cheap trick songs right here.
Always loved this song. Great bass line too. These guys truly gave it their all on stage

Robin Zander has an insane voice.
Robin's voice was probably at it's pinnacle around this time.
Robin is the hottest guy in rock and has the best voice.
Asi es!! 😍😍🔥🔥🔥
半分と、あとどの位にさしかかったのか
私も考えてしまうけど…
でも、このメンバー見てると歳を重ねる
のも悪くないよねって勇気を貰える!
ありがとうございます❤
Should have been a huge hit single

Great tune.. one of my faves
Incredible performance. Listen up rock bands of 2020!
🙏 🙏 🙏 Amen
No kidding. 👏🏻
saw them play a benefit in 2020 after NearVana had just played (everyone but Kurt) and they were airtight and Robin could still sing really well ..
@@maddymud - No Kurt? He wasn't around in 2020?
@@bobgomez9481- correct. he wasn’t around in 2020. It was everybody else being fronted by Beck and Violet Grohl and St. Vincent
Jeez Bun killing it!!
most under appreciated band ever
100% agreed…just a great rock band..period….

"Still the smell of you was on my face, but you were too busy too notice me last night". Classic!
A Lyric Jim Steinman could have written. 😜
There are literally ZERO bands nowadays that sound this tight and perform with this precision. Truly an amazing live performance.
You need to get out more friend. There tons of bands all over the world doin this exact thing! Go find em!
Tons?
Maybe a few and it usually takes a herd of band mates. Not the traditional 4 or even 3… lol
Nope, tons literally tons. All over the world.
My favorite song written by Robin Zander. Love the energy! Outstanding talent and performance!
I totally love cheap trick! I’m in my 70’s and have seen them a couple times and still rock my boat🌈😎
I've never understood why people liked Cheap Trick. Watched this; now I get it.
Robin Zander most underrated singer ever
I love the album "NEXT POSITION PLEASE" included this number most of their many albums. I wish also the remastering of this album!
It was there best album but far from most commercially successful album. I saw them in '84 and wore out this cassette tape and bought another one. Robin very underrated Rythem player.
Bun knew how to rock that Non Cocky man hair line.
Great American Rock and Roll on Live TV! What a concept!
Clean sound, beautiful song made even better live.
Most underrated voice in rock of all time, this is live without all the crap they use now…real talwnt
They ROCKED this in Tokyo a couple nights ago. Forgot how good of a song this (and "Borderline") are!
Thanks for posting this. Cheap Trick are one of my favorite bands. Up there with Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, and Iron Maiden. Not just because I am from Illinois.
Wow awesome song.
Longtime fan of this band & Alan thicke's show before growing pains thicke of the night in 1983🎉
Just a fantastic live band.
My senior year in high school. A great time and some great music from Cheap Trick!
Love this band....
Love them. Pure talent before autotune.
Remaster This Album Please !!!!!! Come On Please Rick !!!!!

Very underrated CT track
Coolest FUCKING song!
Power pop greatness!
Don't forget Heavens Falling...Also a good one off this Runt-Pop album!!!
Timeless

Best recording!

BOYZ ♡♡♡♡♡
Pardon me I had a str8 moment there
@ James Corwnall- it most likely means her perfume. Sometimes it lingers for days.
Thats a song!
God Bless Bun E.
Broke me.
great levels too
What about Wont Take No For an Answer? or Borderline? Hell, most of the album is so great I have a hard time choosing a favorite.
Please remaster "Next Position Please"...pretty PLEEEEZE?!?!
Imagine if Jack Douglas had produced Next Position Please
Or Nick Lowe...hell Tom Werman

Who was singing for Rick? it's obvious toward the end that there was someone else backstage with a mic!
Not so. A good eye doctor may help.
Marty Ross. i noticed too
Ghost singer behind the stage?
Rick N is singing--look close thru the song.
Rick is not singing at 3:15 and yet the background vocal keeps going.
I didn't know Cobain could actually sing! Why don't people talk about this band as well as Nirvana?
I never thought Robin Zander looks like Cobain...but he does here....
Cobain tried to look like Robin. And Nirvana was heavily influenced by Cheap Trick.

What song did Jon use the bass pedals for????
"Nevermind sounds like a Cheap Trick album" Kurt Cobain
The other Beatles
The Illinois Beatles
Alan Thicke - LoL
What does they mean by "still the smell of you was on my face??"
Pussy!😀
totally miami vice style.

Chars Jerkins robin zander wrote this song, NOT todd rundgren.
He wrote a song for them called Heavens Falling... this is a band original
I don't think Rick is really singing the high harmony, it doesn't line up sometimes. Off stage keyboard player, maybe ?
Yes...Magic Cristian - vocals and keyboards.
Thick Of The Night... I don't like the sounda that.....
Who was on backups this era live ?
what a treasure !!
