The weirdest part is the fact that Caleb in the artist’s comic is SOOOO out of character. The sims Caleb actually likes humans. He is a friendly guy and has a “good vampire” aspiration. Like, he wants to be a part of the society and make friends with other people. What the hell.
Apparently he is now making an original version of his Vamp Groomer that doesnt use anything linked to EA in his "reboot" of the series. But he is still keeping the core everything. Caleb would have honestly beat the shit out of the predator Cal ngl
I'm glad that people in the comments are confirming this bcs I thought I must've been misremembering or smth. What's the point of basing it on Caleb if you're going to ignore his whole canon personality?
@@vulpesrocktails918 Yeah, he is currently making a full webcomic version of this to monetize off of it. Thus why Caleb's name now is like "Caecillus." But the beats will pretty much be like the same thing, except that now he can turn into a deadly bat for that "Ancient Magus Bride" element.
if a father stops hugging his daughter when shes 16 because he cant stop his sexual feelings towards her its not normal. Its pathological and they both need heavy therapy, or to be separated from each other

Yeah, imo the art style is only sketch bc of the contrast (this imo includes most regular anime with the girls always have bigger eyes than the guys); it's fine if *all* adults are drawn that way.
conjuring up a fake gang of pedophiles to harass your child main character for cheap drama that takes up one whole page of your comic is crazy enough without it being part of the setup for that character getting groomed by another, different nonce anyway
The little girl character is actually his self insert and something that no one brings up is the consumption or creation of problematic media doesn't reflect on IRL people's values or morality. Just because someone write a story about a murderer doesn't mean they are a murderer and same thing goes for the reader of said murderer. Explanation point made a really good video about the topic when discussing his interest in "gushing over magical girls"
@@magicalpopfish9570 this doesnt apply in two cases tho. one, pornography bc of how we process things when associated with physical pleasure, and two, when the author of problematic content refuses to admit that said content is problematic at all, which is the case here. if this was supposed to depict grooming in a fairly realistic manner, it wouldnt be such a big deal. but its not, the author sees this as a cute love story, and perpetuates that view to other people or to put it in the murderer example: if someone writes a story about a murderer, that doesnt mean anything. if someone writes a story about a murderer, and then consistently claims that it wasnt actually murder, thats an issue
the fact that this story couldve turned into a cute story about a cold hearted vampire dad whos heart softens while raising a sweet little girl, but instead took a sick turn like this is wild. wasted talent fr 🤮
I once saw a mini short story long ago, about an immortal witch adopted an orphan boy, at first she sort of cold, and start to love the boy as her son, and eventually, every page skips to teen, adult and old years. The boy become an old man on his deathbed but the witch stay young. He still call her mother till the end. And that's how you write familial love Edit: I've found the story! Try searching "Let's Meet at the Witches' Gathering". It's a compilation of various Japanese Pixiv artist and was translated to English in Mangadex. The story that I meant was in chapter 1.
Or even better: A dark thriller about a boy who finds out that his HS crush is being abused by her father, who's also an immortal monster, and sets out to kill him. Or the same story from her POV, but both of them trying to escape him & run away together regardless.
Imagine this story was written to show a vampire dad struggling to raise a human adopted daughter. He could still navigate through things like a girl having her first period, or warn her about her asshole boyfriend, she could go through a rebellious phase and they would have to work through mending their father-daughter relationship. Ultimately when she matures she realizes how much her adoptive vampire dad sacrificed to raise her and it'd be super wholesome. If you wanna add tragedy, imagine Caleb seeing his daughter grow up, walking her down the isle, seeing his grandkids, taking care of May when she's old and weak, and then mourning the death of his adoptive mortal daughter. Nothing is more heart breaking than a parent losing their child. This could've been such a cool story, but nah, we had to go full Usagi Drop.
@@bellxlilies9913 Yeah! Maquia without the heartbreaking war stuff. Would've been so cool to have a simple wholesome take on immortal parent and mortal child relationship. :(
That’s actually a really good story. I have read his comic, and it’s not interesting at all. The only thing that makes it interesting is the color palette.

Bae really pre ordered her, diy waifu… this is gross I wanna smack him.. this could have been a cute little webtoon, like “ohh what a cute little story about found family!!” But nope. We gotta make it creepy…
@cristalido3640 it doesn't matter if it's fictional, it's a poor excuse. He raised her as his daughter, watching her grow, and used that opportunity to manipulate her to fall in love with him. That's grooming. Hell, if Caleb was a human in the first place, you won't have ant excuses.
My ex was a paedo, horrifying realization after I found all his shit. This is EXACTLY how he wrote his little fantasy journal about his best friend's significantly younger little sister... who was 10. He was a fully ass man in university. He kept journals on his computer along with all his CP about how he wanted to groom that kid. I went to the police, never regretted it. All that gross shit he wrote in about him being a vampire preying on her as a temporary meal is pure projection of known insecurities, because yes, even that scene about him not willing to talk about her getting older is relevant. Very relevant because those kids basically DIE to them when they exit their preferred victimhood age. In that ex's gross journals, he went from describing that little kid as being "kind" and "pure" etc. because she.... made cookies one time. NO PERSONALITY is permitted, they are just cute objects they lust after. So long as their worlds are confined to the paedo, and their interests only serve the paedo, it's "fine". His journals started becoming more vicious towards her and claiming she "changed" when it was glaringly obvious he was mad she was getting older, and Lord forbid, becoming her own person who could tell him know and recognize he was being creepy. The HATRED he had for this girl. Awkward AF, I met her as a young adult prior to finding all his gross paedo shit, and he was so fucking nasty to her.
There's so many red flags and obvious grooming signs of the vampire man using her. This is just a groomer x victim relationship that's fetishized and it's so gross that people think it's ok.
yea all the little things like, always calling him "mister" even as an adult, clueless about what sex is, having unresolved trauma and the adoptive parent who is almost fucking millennium years old, refusing to do anything about it, resulting in making her very dependent on him. it's just grooming and sheltering 101
As an autistic adult who sometimes act childish, this comic ain't it. You can have an adult character act childish without it feeling gross and fetish-y
@@lonewolf1928 Yeah... Sadly this is something that became really normalised in modern anime/manga content. A lot of Shounen romance stories around 2000s felt very... like if men were exploring the different variations of the ideal girl of their fantasies. The tsundere, the yandere, the kuudere, the himedere, and all that nonsense, and somehow they managed to set the trend for the portrayal of a lot of female characters in their media to be the typical 'innocent pure girl uwu' for their infantilising fetish. Which... just like Rin said, creative content media can have a lot influence on the people growing up with this and Kawanocy's story really feels like appealing to all these weird trends for media content made by men for men.
@@elliesart_ Don't you have something better to do tho? lol invest this time in researching how you can help actual victims of grooming or neglected kids instead of investing your grown up time on a guy who draws on instagram.
I think it has something to do with the fact that it gets popular because of the art style but turned out to be problematic. There are plenty of problematic artists that you might not know about because their art styles aren't as good (therefore they're less popular).
The amount of people I see defending it being like "I know he's an immortal vampire who raise her since she was a child but there's no evidence of grooming" like are you being for real here 💀
It doesnt have to be romantic..omg it would just be cute if its a story of a vampire raising a child but noooo we have to 1000 mph straight towards the walls
I used to follow him and i never actually paid attention to the story I just thought his art was pretty and then I started going through the comments and saw people cancelling him (rightly so) and I immediately unfollowed. The fact that people support and make excuses is crazy
I replied to a comment that was praising this comic, telling the person that the vampire guy literally raised that girl as if she was his own daughter and they really just replied with "and ? She's an adult who can make her own choices, if you don't like it you can move along~" like, excuse me ??? Because now she's an adult it makes things suddenly better??? Hell nah 💀
reminds me of people who defended sesshoumaru and rin from inuyasha, just because sesshoumaru was your childhood crush does not excuse the fact that he took care of rin as a young child and then once she became an adult, just so happened to impregnate her... gross.
Still cant get over the fact that the art looks so beautiful, while portraying such an disgusting story. Its like a chocolate cake made out of poop. Idk im bad at metaphors.
What's insane is how Kawanocy wrote a very realistic portrayal of a groomer/predator/pedo. There is so many issues in Caleb, and tactics he uses to groom May that are seen in actual child groomers. And yet, Kawanocy CONTINUES to justify and glorify it. It's crazy how he doesn't realize how fucked up of a story he wrote. Tactics Caleb uses to groom May; - Being overbearing and overprotective to instill a false mindset that he cares about her - He does not teach her about healthy relationships, boundaries and romantic bonds. - He takes advantage of her trauma - Does not discuss s3xual topics with her when he was her "father" - Demonizes people that calls him out for his abusive behaviour - Makes May secretive with her emotions and circumstances so she doesn't tell anyone about his grooming - Enables her to be with adults that support his groomy behaviour - Gives her monetary stuff to again, convince May he's trustworthy when he isn't - Rightfully demonizes other predators, yet continues to act EXACTLY like them. He displays narcissism. - When he felt obvious attraction to May when she was a kid, he legit did nothing about it. Some pedophiles actually get therapy and brain surgery because they know their feelings are wrong when they arise to never hurt a kid or download disgusting stuff. (I'm not defending p3d0s in any way but you get what I mean.) - He thinks his emotions are completely fine and enables May to think that aswell - AND MUCH MORE!!!
@@AlienaddiktExactly. You literally cannot convince me that most "pure" characters, especially women characters, aren't just an excuse to make a literal adult child-like or innocent (in a very creepy way). The whole fetishization with "pureness" (aka. An adult who is sadly uneducated about important things and lured in by monsters) is disgusting, it's a trope to make characters seem super young, victims of abuse, and/or make it seem like they are owned by the people who do sexual things with them first. Ofc I'm talking about stories that fetishizes it and makes it a gross story. Stories that use it for representation on heavy topics/education, or don't make strange at all is chill lol. It's very few but they do exist!! 😮💨
I hate the trope where an adult woman is such an innocent virgin that she doesn't even know what a penis is. That's just not possible, especially in a modern day setting, unless she was ridiculously sheltered to an extreme degree. I'm a virgin and I learned what a penis was when I was like 9 just from Googling Pokemon characters lmao. It really sucks that his art is so good.
I agree. I learned that stuff at school when I was 9. I knew even earlier because I was aware there are male and female animals and it wasn't rocket science to assume it is the same with humans
Honestly yes. Like one things is a girl who don't like to see that shit (like me, i'll really feel uncomfortable if i saw a pp or kitty even in art class, or in a public space in general) Other things is not knowing what is it. Which is stupid. I can see this in a historical novel not in a modern world setup.
I hate whenever people just say "He's Japanese!!" to counter the criticism. Lolicon is NOT our culture. Many Japanese do not condone this type of media. We do not claim him 🤦♂🤦♂
“She’s an adult now, it’s not creepy!” And she’s drawn like a child, constantly acts like a child, has no knowledge of adult topics, and has known her adult ‘spouse’ since she was six. Hmmmm.
Sounds to me like the creator wanted to write a relationship between a child and an adult, but didn’t want to face the consequences of that, so they just hand-waved it away with surface-level excuses and went about drawing their comic :/
My fav thing is when it's clearly grooming or incest, but the fans have to brush it off by saying that "they were just living together, they didn't see each other as a parental/sibling figure". My guy, what do you think a child thinks of an adult who takes care of them? At this point just admit it's incest/grooming. And write a good story featuring it. Like I have no issue with stories about taboo topics, but you are just clearly here to fulfill your fantasy.
I understand if you find it gross, but why should anybody hold creators up to any standard just because you dislike this type of fiction? I do not want tyo repeat myself much but it is fictional, i hope you are aware that it has no effect in real life nor these characters can experience trauma or suffering.
@@Antri-jd9jy It’s been scientifically proven that fiction affects the way people think. Also, I’d argue that me finding it ‘gross’ is the least bad part of it.
@@SqualorOpera Very bold claim, there is also research that proves otherwise. It doesnt affect you, the most it could do is exarcebate another mental problem, but certainly not the cause. The defense of him being Japanese and how he doesn't know any better is just infantilization of an entire country- and there are for certain Japanese folk who are staunchly against this kind of thing. To paint all of Japanese folk as "ignorant" or "tolerant/accepting of pedophilia" is just racism and excusing this type of behavior
They think that about Japanese people because there's a lot of anime where teen and young child characters are sexualized. Their entire view on Japan is based of off creepy ass cartoons
Im tired of people defending racism and pedophilia by saying its from japan, sure, sometimes we need to accept other cultures as having different standards then are culture, but assuming freaking japan is some kind of orientalized place where pedophilia is ok, and racism is ok, is even more racist, assuming other cultures are ok with pedophilia is a form of orientalism that’s gone back a long time No, japan is not a completely isolated backwards society that gives you an excuse to get off to anime children, its a place just as connected to the world as any other and you should hold people accountable to pedophilia and racism
If I may discuss specifically lolicon, not sexualized teenagers (different topic) for a moment, anime otaku culture is definitely littered with lolicon shit which has very much been normalized under the excuse of it being fictional drawings, but it reflects a tolerance for the concept among the otaku men who pioneered it. But this is like several layers of anime hell you have to be familiar with to even comment on the subject. It's definitely not normie to think nothing of fictional child porn when presented with it, and not every Japanese person watches anime/manga/doujins or consumes it in depth to be familiar with these unsavory genres. The functioning age of consent in majority prefectures is 18 and despite issues with sexualizing high school girls (which the west is also guilty of), there is no weight to the excuse that Japanese people just can't be expected to know any better concerning pedophilia. It is not a country of pedophiles and this is racist to insinuate as a defense.
"just infantilization of an entire country" That is not even a proper argument? Or was it something she said? He's not representative of Japanese, but it is unfortunately more common than you think even outside of Japan. Pointing out common patterns is not racism, but also an issue on a wider cultural scale THEIR communities will need to deal with before seeing change for the better away from this behavior. Pretty sure there are advocacy groups however small. The only thing to do about this online is to learn that it is wrong and ignore/report (try to anyway) the content to avoid supporting it in any form. This callout trend certainly doesn't help the cause, even for awareness sake.
The exploitation of not only little girls, but the father-daughter dynamic is disgusting. This is why women don’t trust men. This is not a real woman; she is a fictional manifestation of what this man wants a woman to be; someone he can manipulate into being whatever he wants. It’s horrifying that anyone could think this was okay in any context.
The REAL creepy thing is that we learn nothing about them threw the comic. Just that the girl is naïve and needy and just that the vampire is possessive of her. We have no idea what kind of ppl they are alone or how they feel about things outside of the "relationship" The vampire is a chef, why? Does he like cooking? If I was a vampire I would use my unending time to get stocks and/or real estate and just sit on my ass mostly. The girl is in art class, what does she like? Does she want to be a painter later on in life? Or something else? Why does she want that? What about the boy/love rival? What does he like about her? How did they keep in touch for so long? Were they going to the same school? Did they grow up together? All in all.... the comic is just a collection of red flags, without any context that could maybe, perhaps, have a chance to not make everything feel so....... pedoey. Would it be problematic? Sure. But it wouldnt be so sleazy. Edit: I just got at 32:36 on the video.... Just kill the entire thing with fire, nothing saves it.

I also think Dori's and DIona's entire existences are just weird as shit lmfao.
Because I'm weird and know the lore of Sims 4 vampires like the BACK of my HAND, I just want to point some things out: Caleb was not a "pureblood" vampire. He was human with his sister Lilith. One of the trailers for the vampire pack is showing how he and his sister were turned. He was bitten by Miss Hell. Caleb is a good vampire. He loves humans and interacting with them. He literally hates drinking from people because he feels guilty and finds alternate methods or will ask permission. Which mirrors his mentor Miss Hell who is an evil vamp. Caleb is not 800 years old or however the fuck old, but he is elderly age. In the werewolves pack they added in a cousin for Caleb and Lilith who is elderly and she grew up with the siblings so he's old but not OLD. Caleb, and his sister Lilith, are actually daywalkers but it's literally used so they can live a normal life. Caleb is literally part of the team of good vampires! there's like 3 vampire groups in the sims 4 and caleb is part of the GOODEST ONE How did this man look at Caleb and say "lol yeah he's perfect for this shit story" like...???????
Some people who used to follow this artist mentionned that he's also drawn another child like character in provocative ways and people found out said character was inspired by his real life younger sister. I think the connection to Caleb was that he saw that Caleb has a sister so he projected himself into his place to write this messed up story.
I only saw this on Tumblr once and I was very surprised too low-key I was like bro you meet this girl when she's 14 and you should find someone who is same I know that vampires live for a long time but still
honestly like.... even looking past the groomer's fantasy shit it's just not well written LMAO. the characters are one-dimensional, bordering at being annoying at times and also booringggg. i know he's a japanese man so i'm not gonna fault him for the dialogue being clunky and robotic because things might've been lost in translation. but there's no excuse for writing bad characters and a bad story premise. no excuses for writing grooming in a very clearly fantasized way either, but that's a different topic.
He do have smth good technique and perception on scenes, I think that could be where it attracts people. Tech and scene atmosphere != the central idea or spiritual concept. Just to avoid conflict
I used to follow Kawanocy in ~2020 purely because of the art, it's honestly such a shame that such pretty art belongs to someone that abuses it and makes such a twisted story with it Edit: No art admiring is worth pedophilia
Yeah fr, me too i used to follow him because he does really good art and was not understanding the story behind the characters so I was confuse but liking the art XD
So great how even when the girl grows up, the artist continues to draw her with the facial proportions of a child, doing things like framing her super low in the panel and infantilizing her like you said. Looking at some of the panels, i could barely tell what age she was lol
Honestly I'm sick of "innocence" being portrayed as like this SUPER SEXUALLY DESIRABLE TRAIT, like it almost always equates to: the more childlike she is, the more fuckable she is. An absolutely disgusting sentiment for reasons I don't have to tell my fellow sane people. Just never refer to your female (or male, I'm all about equality~) love interest as that, you're already off to a very sus start. I do want to mention that writing your character as specifically INEXPERIENCED is okay, of course it's fine to portray a love interest as inexperienced, everyone's had "their first time," and as long as they know what they're in for (with a trustworthy partner obviously) that's a setup for a healthy relationship. But DAMN do not portray that AS a sexy trait in and of itself. If you're attracted to someone purely because they DON'T know what they're in for, DINGDINGDING that's the manipulative asshole alarm! Innocence, naivety, inexperience, whatever you wanna call it: it's only an attractive trait to the scummiest scumbags who want to exploit it. Namely: *PEDOS!!!*
There’s nothing wrong with a ship where one person is more inexperienced. Except you can’t be romanticising that shit. Or be glorifying it. Have the inexperienced one go through an arc of being more experienced about everything. Don’t let the more experienced person in the relationship coddle them or hold all the control. It’s fucking disgusting when stories portray inexperience as a super sexy trait. Nine times out of ten, it’s just to blanket over their weird fixation on purity and naivety. Which is yucky and yucky gross gross. Paired with having a uwu three foot itty bitty tiny girl, it just reeks of infantilization and pedophilia.

Honestly, it's pretty irrelevant to judge vampires blushing, because vampires are different in each interpretation, and in many of them, they can reproduce, despite a dead body is infertile.
this would have been way better and cuter if caleb was the same age as her, an abandoned vampire child in a similar situation to her that learns to love the world again, and then their romance would actually be good and healthy!
@@idrinktea420 kind of, more like they always stay youthful. in this case i would just make it that he would stop aging at like 25 (because that’s the age you fully develop at)
@@idrinktea420 I think it really depends - both on the kind of vampire, but also the rules of vampirism in that medium. Many vampires aren't born, they're made, and that's why they tend to be "frozen" at a certain age - they keep the appearance of how old they were when they were initially turned. However, some vampires _can_ be born, and popping out of the womb as a full adult is just silly, so growing like a human is usually the solution. Since many vampires are human first somehow, some rules I've seen is that they age a bit slower than humans while young, and then the older they get, the longer it takes for them to mature. Like, maybe they spend 10 years in the baby-toddler phase instead of 5, but teenage adolescence gets longer every year until it slows down considerably until they hit between 21-30 - the period for peak physical performance and thus "youth" and beauty for convenience. To become an old man takes SEVERAL more centuries past that. A lot of this is clearly about wish fulfillment - it's why it's so often about eternally young and hot vampires and not a decomposed skeleton or eternal baby - those just aren't fun, and youth is considered the most fun time in your life. I personally like the idea that they age VERY slowly, and they also take much longer to emotionally mature for the same reason because they have a longer life span. Like, think of dogs and humans - dogs will reach their adult maturity faster than a human will in the same time because their life cycles are much shorter, and thus, their maturity is condensed to suit that. Since vampires are long-lived, longer maturity periods. This is how I view supernatural creatures, honestly - yeah, 500 years is long for a human, but is that impressive in your species? Are you an adult by the standards of your own people? That's what matters more here - numbers don't tell me much because we clearly don't age at the same pace.
Ugh I hate how the author makes the other characters think that May dating someone who literally raised her is fine, but only finds it not okay because he's a vampire??? This comic is disgusting, I'm glad you talked about this, because I hope Kawacy dont get off free this time.
Yeah these kind of stories always try to find something else that would be "socially unacceptable" so they can distract you from the biggest red flag. I find this esp. common in lgbt comics. The amount of ones I've had to drop bc they'll make it like a 14x21 year old (Pulling from a book I read) but they'll be like "but x character is evil and that's why people don't want them together!!" to distract that the kid is 14????? (Oh and in this PUBLISHED book I read, the 21 year old had a crush on the 14 year old first, before the story stared, for about 2 years?)
@@someonewho Ooo I know a real life story like this. The dude was doing something like that, if I remember correctly his point was "They dislike me because I have a job associated with uneducated people" And not because he casually said that a 14 year old's thighs made him want to marry her
I found his art through Instagram and was like "oh thats such a pretty artstyle", then i scrolled a bit and saw the gross ass grooming and immediatly blocked his ass. I looked the creator up briefly and found one of his fanarts are of Rin and Sesshomaru from Inuysha. If you dont know, Sesshomaru is a dog demon who was injured from a fight and couldnt move from his spot in a forest when Rin, a little orphan girl who found him and tried helping him (bringing him food, etc). Long story short, he let her follow him and came to harbor affection towards her. And then in a horrific turn at the end, he marries her and she has his children. I remember seeing that and being so outrageously uncomfortable, but the comments were stoked and people were so happy that their *"ship"* had been confirmed. The funniest thing is that there's nothing like that in the original manga. It's just stupid anime creators who decided it was a good idea to make such relationship like this.

I am so glad this video was made about him because I used to follow him on tumblr and immediately unfollowed after I heard the child character he often draws and sexualizes is actually based on his little sister (at the time nobody was talking about it, only one or two people were making threads about him) and that he often drew himself in a weird...incestuous thing with her and at first I didn't believe it until I saw a post from him literally about that and felt incredibly grossed out. yes his art is amazing, yes he's a very talented and skilled artist, but Jesus christ brother, he's vile.
i tried googling some instances of this and i could only find one,,, do you guys know of any other examples? i used to follow this dude when i was much younger and did notice those comics w his sister but i dont think i saw the weird ones ! not surprised doe, he’s gross for making the grooming comic 😩🤚
@@TheMoodyfire everything I saw about him was on tumblr, so unfortunately I currently do not have any links to the posts, especially because he's been a creep for YEARS. I read this about him around 4 years ago and this video is the first time I see ANYONE publicly expose him like that. the discussion about kawanocy was mainly done on tumblr years ago :(
She cries in almost every god damn panel wtf. It's kinda crazy to say you are portraying your character as an adult when she is crying at any inconvenience, doesn't know basic info adults know, have such a round face and small body (I know adults can be this way, but come on, her personality doesn't help). I unfollowed him after I found out about this story, it's disgusting... It also reminds me of another creator I followed that had an oc couple where one was a 18 years old and the other was a grown ass 58 years old or something. When I was younger I didn't understand why that was weird is the 18 years old was an "adult" but now that I'm grown it's truly disturbing...this kind of things help normalize grooming to kinds, you can't change my mind.
Glad to know I'm not the insane one for finding it disgusting and unfollowed. Literally everyone around me are justifying him just because it's a "common troupe" and just because his art are amazing (which they are, but the subjects are still disgusting). I actually didn't mind consuming triggering media if it wasn't romanticized or glorified like what Kawanocy's been doing. Also his fanatic fanbase that are defending him is crazy.... like how can you continue supporting a man who writes a GROOMING ROMANCE???
Edit: Some people was confusing what I was saying, so let me clear it out before anyone else gets mistaken. No, I'm not defending the author. I'm opposing the author. Below is the original message. You're saying something that's key here: bad and immortal acts can (and should, probably) be depicted in the arts. Art is a way for us to process reality, and reality sometimes is f*cked up. However, depiction is not the same as romantization, which is what this person is doing (I clarify: he's romanticizing and therefore normalizing. Aka, the bad thing). He's choosing a sanitized and innocent-presenting lense to showcase an abuse. His cutesy art style adds to this sanitized view, since the audience would react differently if this story was presented in an aggressive, uncomfortable style: it would be clear that, behind the apparent kind words and actions there's something wrong.
@@BigBadWolframio Are you... trying to justify pedophilia and grooming under the guise that it's cute? Just because it appears cute it doesn't take away from the underlying problem that is the fact that he RAISED her. The artist makes a conscious effort to make her "innocent" even when she's an adult. With the way no other character other than Lucas (her villainized love interest) points out how strange the relationship is, it can't be a depiction. If the artist even tried to convey how wrong the vampire's actions were, then you can say it's just another depiction of pedophilia and grooming. However, if you watched the video you can see that in the story, there is NO ONE opposing the relationship, other than the fact that he's a vampire. I might've misunderstood your point but this story is for sure a romantization of grooming.
This isn’t even that common of a trope!! It happens in some mangas sure, but it’s always met with a little bit of controversy or the main characters meet when the female lead is a teenager and not LITERALLY 5. The last time I saw something this gross was usagi drop, and at least in that the male lead has the decency to deny her out of moral obligation for a few chapters before being conned into it by other characters
@@BigBadWolframioidk if u like this artist and are in denial or what but it is very very obvious that this guy isn't presenting the pedo stuff in this deep way that you are describing, he just thinks it's ok and cute. even if u got that meaning out of it majority of ppl didn't/wouldn't ,especially children. when I was a child I used to see things just like this and I can tell u it made me think it was ok and fine and I am so glad that noone actually got to me while I was thinking that way at the age of 13-14, a lot of children are not as lucky as I was.
I’m sure the natural continuation of this series is she has the baby, dies tragically and he just HAS to marry his own child because it reminds him of his wife. This is a horrible comic holy shit. Put him in the bin
I was following him when he first started making that series. from the start I was wishing for maybe a wholesome parent/child dynamic but when he started showing hints of turning it romantic I started getting uncomfortable and eventually stopped following him. I remember a few years back he became controversial for the same reason, it sucks to see that even now he still doesn't seem to know or even care what the problem is and is still continuing what he's doing, ugh :((
@@saralocks honestly it's good to hear that I'm not alone either... I first found out about him in middle school and the entire controversy happened not too long before I went to college, so I had been following him for a long time. it was really disappointing.
@@lumoseo same... i dont use social media a lot and followed him for his nice colouring style, so on the odd occasions i saw the drawings of this couple i had an immediate uncomfortable gut feeling, but since i only ever saw the 'wholesome' posts where he was acting as her adoptive father i felt bad for assuming it was something dodgy. Now i know i was indeed right lmao, also that a lot of the art where i thought she was still a 6 year old was supposed to be her as an adult 🤮
I haven't read the comic, I never realized it's that disgusting... Also, it's gon be hella weird if their baby grew up a little and the mother be like "This is where we met when I was six, and he was a grown man." Like we not serious right?
I can't believe the main defense the artist has as well as his fans has is "They started liking each other when she's an adult!" When it's sprinkled along the comics that he started liking her before she even turned 16 🗿🗿🗿🗿
EXACTLY like they were blushing at each other even when she was a child. no one can convince me that it was never pedophilia. it was always drawn creepy on purpose.
And even then, that guy was basically her father- or brother, whatever- figure. He RAISED her. You couldn't pay me to think of either of my parents- or my older brother- in a romantic way, as an adult. I physically can't do it.
I just want to add that despite the female MC being "of age" when she got with the male MC, she is still very child-coded. Like I get there are short, baby-faced adults (god knows I'm one of them), but observe the way the artist draws other adult women vs the female MC, not even mentioning the way her actions/attitude are portrayed. And yes, there are 'innocent' adults, too. But if she is so innocent, then why would the male MC go after her? If that's his type then, why not go after innocent grown woman who he DIDN'T raise? They could have been a good couple if it weren't for the fact that he raised her. Also the difference of her appearance between her as a child and her as an adult is nearly negligible.
child coded is a kind of dumb way of wording things. adults can date other adults even if one party is immature or whatever. but yeah the story is still pretty fucked because he literally raised her from childhood
@@user-vw4xp5nt9f i think it works bc "coded" is a way of saying a character is one thing without outright labeling them that way due to stigma, which there rightfully should be in this case. I'm not arguing irl cases, it's just that this kind of media like rin points out can normalize this kind of stuff. I also didn't coin the term, it came from this video which I highly recommend ua-cam.com/video/Buv3TA7dvdE/v-deo.htmlsi=BoSMnS-DBSbpC8Uu
The fact people are trying to defend this by saying he's Japanese shows they know nothing about Japan and their problems with this. There are so many grown, old men taking adventage of young women. There are so many cases of older men groping high/middle schoolers on the train and other public spaces. Kids have to keep a whistle on them for protection from both predators and kidnappers. It's so bad that women only spaces have to be created. Also, the age of consent argument is so stupid. it's meant for other minors for protection. It's not meant for adults trying to sleep with minors. It's so a 16 year old can't sleep with a 13 year old. Because predatory behavior doesn't have a minimum age.
The thing is... If this wasn't portrayed as a cutesie comic, or romanticized. It could have honestly been a good psychological horror, but he chose to make it idealized. Maybe if he had gone about it by adding more of a dark theme to it, and making it clearly show it's about grooming and not love.
I wish it just was a cute slice of life WITHOUT the whole growing up and grooming. Because if you erased those, I think it would be very cute, turning a dark edgy vampire into a cheerful guy because of a cute girl, WITHOUT CHILDREN
True. But the point wasn't that she's getting groomed. That idea was nonexistent. The fact that he "accidentally" made the perfect show of the grooming process and the dynamic between a child and a predator... now thats scary
I had never heard of this comic before this video, but before we got to the part where the comic really starts pushing the romance, I couldn't help but think that this could have been a really wholesome slice-of-life comic about found family. There's something so charming about the concept of this edgy ass vampire ending up in some unlikely circumstances that result in him adopting this little human girl, and we, as the audience, get to see how she defrosts his heart and how he tries his best to raise her, despite all of the complications that may come with being a vampire raising a human child. Like... the page where May has to see the pharmacist to get demon medicine for her adopted father sounds like a really cute idea - as long as you don't read those last two panels. It just sounds like a really interesting dynamic to explore, and I'd want to see how the father/daughter duo interact with the rest of the world-and this isn't even a genre that I'm typically interested in! I almost want to write it myself. Almost... but I fear that it would forever be tainted by the unfortunate reality of... the dumpster fire that this shit comic really is. I'd be completely on board with this being a psychological horror comic, too. It could totally work with the art style if the art style changed as the comic went on to reflect the horror of the situation and subvert the cute portrayal that the reader has become familiar with. Hell, I'm sure that a psychological horror that only consists of this one art style could work, too, if it used the art style as juxtaposition to make the abhorrent subject matter and events stand out in way that's very obviously and intensely uncomfortable to the reader. Either way, there's so much potential here for _something_ good, but it was unfortunately created by someone awful.
@@RAAAUGHGUAGHAHA the psychological part reminds me how this comic was made like its with the victim's POV where she doesn't realize she's being groomed, not even when she dies. Its all flowers and rainbows in terms of romance. She doesn't see anything wrong with it.
I. Nothing could have prepared me for the fact that this was going to be about barely-even-renamed Caleb Vatore dating his adopted child. This is the first time I’ve seen such extensive sims fanart and I’m starting to hope it’s the last. Also. It reminds me of the whole Rin and Sesshomaru thing from Inuyasha, it’s so sweet in the original series but post show they have children together. Nasty. Let me have my cold hearted monster man and their tiny adopted human kid dynamic in peace I’m sick of perverts using it as a ship dynamic.
He just posted new fanart of his inuyasha “OTP” saying they were an inspiration for his story bro 😭 he prolly posted it out of spite LMAO he fr wont ever give a damn cus he still has a lot of support. Its been 3 yrs, ppl were telling him its weird and gross since he started creating this shit and nothing changed, it only gets worse.
Is it too much to ask to let us have cold immortal monsters who have lost their humanity regain it by bonding and learning to love a small, innocent child who represents all the potential for good and kindness in humans and let their humanity regrow along with the child they raise? WHY DO THEY ALWAYS HAVE TO FUCK THE KID AFTERWARDS
At first I thought Kawanocy was a young woman using May as a self insert, it’s sad to see but it happens… what a shock it was when I found out he was in fact a man.
Kawanocy grew up in an era where this type of age gap romance was so popular in the shoujo genre so it makes sense that he's used to it, but the fact that he doesn't even see what's wrong with it is wild. Most of his followers/fans are young artists looking to him for inspiration, and I can say this with confidence since I was 14-16 when I looked up to him for his art. Him sharing this type of content to his audience is desensitizing/grooming them into thinking this kind of age gap "romance" is okay when it's not.
And his fans, and content creaters like Hero Hai protecting him, making up exuses (exempl: "they only started liking each other as adults", "It's just a drawing", "you should protect, and help reall victoms", "he is Japanise, it's a defrent culture", "there are short adults", ect.) doasn't help his younger audienc eather. If they see videos like "Artist is hunted by angry Twitter mob" everytime someone calls him out, it will not help them.
Yeah l when he started drawing caleb and may art even 14 years old me was a bit conflicted about it , I already know that the couple is taboo but since he was my favorite artist at the time, I tried excusing it and think " they dated when shes an adult, so maybe this is actually not so bad, and the way he draw them, they looks so happy" I just have problem with the way he romantice these two relationship as if it theres really nothing wrong with it. Theyre fiction, but could possibly lead to a dangerous mindset.
tbh i grew up with that era too so its hard to point out what is wrong, but as time goes on you change and realise what you thought was fucked up lol. kawanoncy didnt
I had been following him since middle school and I think I was around 17-18 when it happened. at the time even I remember getting a bit confused (even if it still weirded me out and made me uncomfortable) because he was so adamant on defending it and portraying it as perfectly "healthy" and "okay". eventually I chose to follow common sense and stopped following him, and I never regretted that decision tbh
you know, as a victim of grooming myself, i usually like to watch these types of videos with an open mind and try to see if maybe the person viewing this experience was incorrect in some way-especially because i haven't watched you, nor heard of this artist before. in fact, no, you're entirely right. i believe that people can create storylines like this as long as they are aware that they are creating something morally abhorrent and, frankly, Gross, and that they respect the material being tackled (such as no glorification or fetishization). one issue is that people tend to put in sensitive subjects WITHOUT proper justification (character development, plot development, whatever. you can't just have a traumatizing event happen and then go back to baseline like nothing happened). kawanocy's consistent defense of his comic, and the character's actions, is fucking awful. it's one thing for a victim of assault to create these sorts of stories, it's another for an alleged creep to create these sorts of stories.
Some people really think vampires are the creep get out of jail free card. Changing them from a disease and SA allegory to sexy men was a mistake. We need to bring back shaming.
I wonder if they could actually have a case to sue if they could be bothered. Cause people don't really sue fanfiction, but this has gone past fanfiction. But nothing ever happened to Fifty Shades of Grey or After, so...?

I just don't understand why it is exactly ADORED. Yes, it's a trope, even a popular trope, but there are tropes about the relationship with blood relatives, so that doesn't make it something good.
I read a lot of romance stories that deal with darker topics but this is just... this ain't it man. It's one thing to have a dark element in romance it's another thing to romanticize that dark element.

Ikr it's weird how Kawanocy have to make May as innocent as possible. It's almost like a fetish thing. Like at 16:30 where he write it so that a 18-year-old girl somehow doesn't know basic biology, or at 27:06 where the comic have to explicitly exclaim that she's a virgin
The most disturbing thing about this is how these stories about a predatory relationship between a man and a little girl, are concocted fantasies thought by a grown man and he’s thinking about it often by the amount of art that I see of them. As a child who was simply magnified by his art, I didn’t understand the characters relationship, and I still never really paid attention to it until you brought it to my attention. So, thank you. ❤
Kawacy flirted with me on Deviantart when I was 15 lol and I'm a lesbian dude is weird like I didn't expect it not saying he's a groomer but he literally flirted with me a minor, even though my age was in my bio...
Oh.. I'm not calling myself an artist maybe a hobbyist and art student, I follow him mainly because he really have a distinct style of drawing and I usually use his drawing as a reference.. his drawing are cute especially these 2 character about the vampire and lil girl.. but by no mean support what underlying from his agenda .. I think people just don't realize
LET'S FIX IT!!! The "immortal loving mortal" trope has sooooo much emotional potential. It sucks kawanocy turned it into something gross. Here's my rewrite: A vampire who has lived in the wilderness for decades can discern the scent of blood from every living creature. He is disturbed by the iron scent of a weeping girl's blood. The vampire asks "Are you a lost orphan?". She replies, "My parents yell a lot, so I ran far away". She asks if the strange man could hold her hand and walk her home; his refusal makes her cry more. He picks up a red flower that withers to his touch and the girl watches in awe, mesmerized how the petals shrivel into dust. He drains the energy from any living thing he touches. To his surprise, her tears have disappeared and she gathers more flowers he can wither. She mistakes him for a magician that can make flowers disappear. It closes with the vampire asking the core question of the story: "How can someone find death so beautiful?". (As the vampire begins to care for her, he starts to wear gloves more often. The author can now put as much world building, filler, and cute father-daughter interactions as they want.) We can now skip to when the girl is an adult and being married. She chooses to wear white gloves with her dress, so the vampire wouldn't feel alone among the human guests. After the party, she asks him to perform the "magic trick" he did when they first met. She gives him a flower, and he takes off one of his gloves. As they both watch the flower slowly disappear, she hides her arms behind her back and slips one of her gloves off her hand. The vampire jokes, "This trick should've gotten old by no-," but he's interrupted by his daughter holding his hand for the very first time. He feels the warmth of her palm and the pulse of her wrist. While holding his hand, she bows to him out of love and gratitude. This scene would end with a shot of both of their gloves lying on the floor. A scene like this would be so powerful bc the girl is said to have an abusive father. She's thanking the vampire that despite his loneliness, he never was bitter toward her. Only for a few seconds, she decides to give him a glimpse of what his life was like when he used to be human.
@@sabreena5611 Aw thank you!! I reread it today and felt like it was little corny haha. I felt like giving the vampire the ability to kill anything he touches was way too overpowered (and cliche). I rewrote it to give him the power to drain energy from living things. In my version, vampires constantly need to absorb energy to survive. The reason why he can wither flowers is because plants primarily rely on light energy which would be relatively easy to drain. Plants get overwhelmed by his touch, so they instantly die. This would also explain why vampires hate the sun in this story. The sun's rays emit an overwhelming amount of energy causing them to faint (or even die). In the case of an animal or human being, these organisms can store much more energy than a plant, since we rely on food and chemical energy. A vampire touching a human would make them very fatigued (but it's not fatal). I imagine when the vampire touches the girl's hand for the first time, she gets a slight headache from it. This energy-draining ability would be mainly used to sedate prey. The vampire can drain the energy of animals so he can suck their blood. this is more unique and expands on the vampire's lore rather than "rahhhh im an edgy vampire nobody loves me" lol. It's also thematically powerful: When the vampire feels the pulse of his daughter for the first time, her heart is beating at a normal rate. Whenever he hunted for the blood of an animal, it's heart would pound in terror. This is the first time he has touched a living thing that wasn't afraid of him. It's similar to a mother hearing her baby's heartbeat for the first time.
@@sabreena5611 when the girl begs the vampire to do something while the bunny is in a pool of its own blood, the vampire takes off his glove, and drains it's energy so it can die a peaceful death. This teaches the girl the inevitably of death and the importance of not dying alone. The vampire has already lived a lifetime but he still acts like an angsty teenager. It would be refreshing to see him act mature toward mortality, as expected for someone his age. The "all things die I'm so dark and mysterious" trope is so cringeyyy
YOU WROTE THIS SO WELL. And your right!!! This kind of gynamic has so much potential, but the father and daughter like relationship is always just ruined. I hope that this will change one day 😅

we literally see other grown women in the comic, like the pharmacist lady, the cotton candy vendor etc, and they look like grown women for the art style. They're making the conscious effort to make May look much younger.
@@sugarmilk28 I know about the chibi one in manga, but I've seen it done to highlight the comedy or the cuteness of a scene. I firkin hate the "Loli uwu" artstyle when it comes to stories of romance with a person who looks much adult or grown up compared with the person with the "Loli artstyle"
Ok, ik that this isn’t exactly the same but a story I like to tell ppl when they say “it’s just fiction” is when my mom left a bruise on me and sent me to school. Ofc she got cps called on her and they basically did nothing. However, afterwards she sat me down and googled a picture of this girl w horrible scars on her back. She showed and said “this is what abuse looks like” point blank I remember it clearly. I thought for my ENTIRE CHILDHOOD that if they didn’t touch you inappropriately, or hurt you “bad enough” it wasn’t abuse. I only really learned that abuse doesn’t always look like that when I was 12/13. So yeah, abusers do use media like this to make their victims think it’s normal. And to ANYONE, if they hurt you, it doesn’t matter how bad it is, it’s physical abuse. If they you say no, or if you’re too young to consent, it’s SA. Tell someone, get away. It’s not normal behavior, it is abuse, it doesn’t matter what excuse they come up with. You deserve so much better I promise you.
What's the point of basing it on Caleb if you're going to ignore his whole canon personality?

what
The little girl character is actually his self insert and something that no one brings up is the consumption or creation of problematic media doesn't reflect on IRL people's values or morality. Just because someone write a story about a murderer doesn't mean they are a murderer and same thing goes for the reader of said murderer.
Explanation point made a really good video about the topic when discussing his interest in "gushing over magical girls"
@@magicalpopfish9570 this doesnt apply in two cases tho. one, pornography bc of how we process things when associated with physical pleasure, and two, when the author of problematic content refuses to admit that said content is problematic at all, which is the case here. if this was supposed to depict grooming in a fairly realistic manner, it wouldnt be such a big deal. but its not, the author sees this as a cute love story, and perpetuates that view to other people
or to put it in the murderer example: if someone writes a story about a murderer, that doesnt mean anything. if someone writes a story about a murderer, and then consistently claims that it wasnt actually murder, thats an issue
the fact that this story couldve turned into a cute story about a cold hearted vampire dad whos heart softens while raising a sweet little girl, but instead took a sick turn like this is wild. wasted talent fr 🤮
And that's how you write familial love

That is a yikes
Also the way he keeps portraying the girl as "innocent" while making her act like an damn child is really disturbing
yea all the little things like, always calling him "mister" even as an adult, clueless about what sex is, having unresolved trauma and the adoptive parent who is almost fucking millennium years old, refusing to do anything about it, resulting in making her very dependent on him. it's just grooming and sheltering 101
As an autistic adult who sometimes act childish, this comic ain't it. You can have an adult character act childish without it feeling gross and fetish-y
could be because his ideal girl is an "uwu protecc me", so he can be her knight in shining armor or something

Tactics Caleb uses to groom May;
- Being overbearing and overprotective to instill a false mindset that he cares about her
- He does not teach her about healthy relationships, boundaries and romantic bonds.
- He takes advantage of her trauma
- Does not discuss s3xual topics with her when he was her "father"
- Demonizes people that calls him out for his abusive behaviour
- Makes May secretive with her emotions and circumstances so she doesn't tell anyone about his grooming
- Enables her to be with adults that support his groomy behaviour
- Gives her monetary stuff to again, convince May he's trustworthy when he isn't
- Rightfully demonizes other predators, yet continues to act EXACTLY like them. He displays narcissism.
- When he felt obvious attraction to May when she was a kid, he legit did nothing about it. Some pedophiles actually get therapy and brain surgery because they know their feelings are wrong when they arise to never hurt a kid or download disgusting stuff. (I'm not defending p3d0s in any way but you get what I mean.)
- He thinks his emotions are completely fine and enables May to think that aswell
- AND MUCH MORE!!!

The defense of him being Japanese and how he doesn't know any better is just infantilization of an entire country- and there are for certain Japanese folk who are staunchly against this kind of thing. To paint all of Japanese folk as "ignorant" or "tolerant/accepting of pedophilia" is just racism and excusing this type of behavior
They think that about Japanese people because there's a lot of anime where teen and young child characters are sexualized. Their entire view on Japan is based of off creepy ass cartoons
totally, and that happens all the time. its so weird?
Im tired of people defending racism and pedophilia by saying its from japan, sure, sometimes we need to accept other cultures as having different standards then are culture, but assuming freaking japan is some kind of orientalized place where pedophilia is ok, and racism is ok, is even more racist, assuming other cultures are ok with pedophilia is a form of orientalism that’s gone back a long time
No, japan is not a completely isolated backwards society that gives you an excuse to get off to anime children, its a place just as connected to the world as any other and you should hold people accountable to pedophilia and racism
We have no idea what kind of ppl they are alone or how they feel about things outside of the "relationship"
The vampire is a chef, why?

I also think Dori's and DIona's entire existences are just weird as shit lmfao.
Because I'm weird and know the lore of Sims 4 vampires like the BACK of my HAND, I just want to point some things out:
Caleb was not a "pureblood" vampire.
Caleb is literally part of the team of good vampires! there's like 3 vampire groups in the sims 4 and caleb is part of the GOODEST ONE
How did this man look at Caleb and say "lol yeah he's perfect for this shit story" like...???????
Some people who used to follow this artist mentionned that he's also drawn another child like character in provocative ways and people found out said character was inspired by his real life younger sister.
I think the connection to Caleb was that he saw that Caleb has a sister so he projected himself into his place to write this messed up story.
its unreal how a grown ass men is writing a story like a 14 years old wattpad artist and people are eating this up just because he's famous🤣

12:32 I think this would actually be really funny in a more wholesome context. Like, “You’re my best friend!😊” “I thought I was your father🥺”
I think that comic is going more for moa, which to be clear, is just as bad

I can't believe the main defense the artist has as well as his fans has is "They started liking each other when she's an adult!" When it's sprinkled along the comics that he started liking her before she even turned 16 🗿🗿🗿🗿
And by saying that he wasn’t her only guardian or she thought of him as a big brother only…
AS IF THAT’S ANY BETTER
EXACTLY like they were blushing at each other even when she was a child. no one can convince me that it was never pedophilia. it was always drawn creepy on purpose.
even if he did only like her as an adult it would be still weird because why r u waiting for a girl to grow up so you can like her 😭
And even then, that guy was basically her father- or brother, whatever- figure.
Also the difference of her appearance between her as a child and her as an adult is nearly negligible.
ikr! and even the men look older than the women... creepy
child coded is a kind of dumb way of wording things. adults can date other adults even if one party is immature or whatever. but yeah the story is still pretty fucked because he literally raised her from childhood
I also didn't coin the term, it came from this video which I highly recommend

@@user-vw4xp5nt9f thats not the point. Child-coded means that the fictional character looks and behaves like a child. Its fetishizing children
Maybe if he had gone about it by adding more of a dark theme to it, and making it clearly show it's about grooming and not love.
true, i think so too. like killing stalking is clearly framed negatively and it has a horrible (realistic) ending

Yeah l when he started drawing caleb and may art even 14 years old me was a bit conflicted about it , I already know that the couple is taboo but since he was my favorite artist at the time, I tried excusing it and think " they dated when shes an adult, so maybe this is actually not so bad, and the way he draw them, they looks so happy"
I just have problem with the way he romantice these two relationship as if it theres really nothing wrong with it.

LET'S FIX IT!!! The "immortal loving mortal" trope has sooooo much emotional potential. It sucks kawanocy turned it into something gross. Here's my rewrite:
A vampire who has lived in the wilderness for decades can discern the scent of blood from every living creature.
The author can now put as much world building, filler, and cute father-daughter interactions as they want.)
We can now skip to when the girl is an adult and being married.
That was beautiful and way better than what Kawanocy did.
I hope that this will change one day 😅
@@penpendoggoi thought she died when you added the last part with the gloves. This is so much better than the pedo shi the og author made. You made their relationship a healthier and better one. It's not often that i see a story about family. But thta might just be me not consuming a lot of media tho.
pisses me off how good his art is. i Have to get better than him
me too 🤝🏼 let's get this.

This is so real.
Spite squad let’s gooo!
Look im glad someone brought this up because i had a long argument with his stupid ig followers bcs they insisted that "he didn't wanna raise her" and switch to "she has nobody so he took her under his wing, but it's not grooming because grooming is intentional!!1!"
This is a most used argument by many of his followers unfortunately wife husbandry is not seen as p-dophilia to many people because “she became an adult so it’s ok!!!” Which is hella weird….
@@sausanaviiWife husbandry is p3d0philic lol they are weird most men who practiced wife husbandry were p3do0hil3s and lost interest in the wife once she grew too old. This is not romantic they are weird.
@@namkia205 It’s honestly annoying that people think wife husbandry isn’t p-dophilic because just the person turned an adult he’s still was attracted to her when she was a child because he met his “spouse” when she was a child, the people are justifying it saying that she became an adult doesn’t mean that discards Caleb’s attraction to may who he met may as a child, i still get excuses like “he wasn’t attracted to her when she was young he became attracted to her when she turned 18.” ;/// the fact this trope is so normalized it takes to people to think it’s moral even those who says “it’s fiction!!!” Are wrong.
@@sausanavii And p3dophil3s can still be attracted to adults it's not mutually exclusive they are stupid
Omg every time I look into his comment section I legitimately get a headache- they went from “it’s okay bc they got together when they were adults” to “ppl really can’t separate fiction from reality” LIKE. ??? THIS IS STILL REVOLTING TO DRAW A CHILD AND THEN HER GETTING PREGNANT IN THE NEXT PANEL,,
I just want to know where those defenders were when Usagi Drop happened
She really looks too young to be a 16 year old girl, she looks like 10 at best. It's creepy man. and I won't take a "but is the artstyle" because if he can draw a man like the main character, sure can draw a 16 year old girl. (It's still weird but at least not this weird)
we literally see other grown women in the comic, like the pharmacist lady, the cotton candy vendor etc, and they look like grown women for the art style. They're making the conscious effort to make May look much younger.
Sadly it is an art style. It's called loli/ chibi. Very common in Japanese comics and cringe asf
@@sugarmilk28if one character is chibi usually the rest are too
@@sugarmilk28Please don't lump chibi and loli together. They're not the same thing. Loli is not even an artstyle. That's an outright trope in media.
god, what a waste of talent. he is amazing at art, but noooooo he has to use it for this
Ok, ik that this isn’t exactly the same but a story I like to tell ppl when they say “it’s just fiction” is when my mom left a bruise on me and sent me to school. You deserve so much better I promise you.
everything weird about this aside why the vampire guy from sims 4 of all things 😭
